The insurance wireless representative lack knowledge of their products, when addressing an issue, they promise to call you back and they never do. Also when you fill out their application if you make one mistake they deny you even though Texas lifeline approved you. So first off this is supposed to be a free phone... That I payed $40 for and was told my minutes would be put on every month. End of month came an NO minutes. I call insurance wireless to see what's goin on and they can't find my name on the account even though I had to use my state card to get the phone which had my name and client id number on... And there's nothing they can do about it. So now this phone is pointless. DO NOT FALL FOR THIS SCAM
Their options for clients are:
1_ Replace your broken phone with the used one.
2- If you do not like the phone, send it back to them and wait for a period without warranty of time; in addition to calling them from time to time to make sure the phone is available, note that there is no guarantee for a new phone. I mean, you wait for indefinitely time to get a pre-used phone or
3- They will Return your deductable, and continue to use your broken or damaged phone.
In the conclusion either you use the phone they send to you according to thier availability or continue to use your broken phone.
I keep paying this company for over 2 years with uscellular
And $ 99 deductable. They don't have my phone type then they sent me a different type phone that was used and without a charger or phone info sheet and when I didn't like it they gave me the options I mentioned earlier.
Can't turn up volume enough to hear even worse on speaker phone. Keyboard sucks have to rewrite everything. Waste of government funds. Really disappointed! Guaranteed to be thrown out. Can't even see what I'm typing so agrivating
I got a phone that can't hold a charge and never connects. I use this only for emergency since I am disabled. Call on landline for support and they don't understand English or Spanish. Found out from my bank they had data breach and someone in China stole my identity to open dozens credit cards and someone tried to bill my Medicaid.

Free sounds good but in the end this service will bring a lot of stress frustration, disappointment. Things that effect ur health an mood.
They gave me free service but rob me from happiness. Every day started with frustration an stress due to fighting with this phone. I have missed talks an messages from family that I can't get back. Lost jobs over it. U will fall behind in a growing world if you dare count on Assurance Wireless!
Like some others, I get 1000 minutes, unlimited texts, unlimited calls; I don't use internet. I won't tell whole story, it'll take tooooo long, but in a nutshell--I have had issues with all assurance wireless UMX-type phones [same issues as some others have]. I got this latest phone in June, 2020 and by October 1st, 2020, it was dropping calls, etc. Biggest trouble is battery-life drain. And NOW it's getting 'hot' to the touch. I emailed and got a quick response, but was told I'd need to pay for a [new] phone since I just got this one free in June. I DON'T WANT another UMX phone and wish assurancewireless would CHANGE companies or something to a more reliable phone company. I must have a phone. 1,000 minutes and unlimited. Is great, but NOT on their UMX phone!
Refused to replace a phone with overheating issue bc it cracked the screen due to the overheating issues. They don't care if their defective devices injure ppl
Worst service ever not to mention the operator couldn't speak English well. Iwas charged 200$ detectable for returning my phone without telling me and when I called them they said it was nonrefundable fee. Ridiculous!
Do not purchase a phone from these criminals they sent me one that looked like it came out of a dumpster that didn't work so I sent it back for a refund and still haven't received it after a month the have a scam where the service is in on location and they sell the phones in another and they say they don't communicate with each other that is how they steal your money
They constantly send out old phones that have been reprogrammed. The phones constantly has problems intentionally just so you'll have to call them to fix the issue just for them to tell you that you need a replacement phone so they can collect $25 off of you. They know the phones are jacked up and they're just gaining money off the government and off of YOU. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, I've had to the have so many phones replaced through them due to junk phones they keep sending ANYONE that needs a replacement phone and they as well expect you to pay for JUNK.
I've had this pos Android phone a little under a year. I absolutely hate it. It does whatever it wants to. Pop ups, shut downs, the phone rings but the screen is black so you miss your call. I called them wanting a different phone. They wanted $50 with no guarantees it would work any better. Scam. Now they want to sell me a phone that works for $140?
I've had a half dozen of these phones over a couple of years to replace defective ones, and they've all been trash. A long list of bad that can be summed up in one word: PURE $#*!! (OK, two words).
The customer service sucks they are very rude they hang up the phone on you they don't call you back and have attitude when you ask them questions very poor customer service
Assurance wireless has to be the absolute worst cell phone company in existence. I realize I should be grateful that I get a whopping 250 minutes for free every month. But what good is that if the horrible phone they give you never works? Customer service is completely useless. I've had this phone for 8 months now and have contacted them no less than 25 times. My phone STILL says "not activated". I have done everything they have said and nothing corrects the issue. It doesn't help that each customer service representative contradicts what the last one said. It just comes across as a bunch of people answering the phone for a paycheck that truly have no knowledge about the service or how to troubleshoot. Now, let's talk about the horrible free phone:
I have a Wiko Life 2, this is the absolute worst phone I have ever owned! It doesn't work 99% of the time. For no rhyme or reason, there are times you simply cannot make an outgoing phone call. If you are successful and that's a big IF, be prepared for the fact that your call will eventually be dropped. Also, be aware that the person you are calling will barely be able to hear you as your voice will constantly fade in and out. The battery life is horrible. It says 16 hours talk time, that is completely untrue. You will be lucky to have 6 hours on a full charge if you do nothing else. I had 100% charge this morning, sent 3 very short text messages & am already at 90% charge. The phone is made out of cheap plastic, I'm embarrassed to even take it out. It has 5 annoying ring tones and 4 annoying notifying tones. It will randomly send tones for no reason multiple times a day. I understand now why they gave this phone away for free, no one would want to purchase this.
The purpose of my phone is to have it in case of medical emergencies. I can't count on being able to use this phone during medical emergencies so it is honestly completely useless to me. As useless as Assurance Wireless. It's sad that the government cares so little about people with medical disabilities.
Just going to list the issues. 1. Takes like 5 tries before it connects to a network to use your phone. 2. Drops calls regularly. 3. incompatible with most cell phones, you have to use their crappy devices. Sends messages that crash your phone if sim is used in an unlocked cell phone that isn't theirs. 4. Missed calls. 5. Missed text messages. 6 only gives you 350 minutes a moth that roll over and neither does your data. Just the worst lifeline company and service you can get. If I could give no stars I would.
I paid almost $200 for a reconditioned phone last month. I chose the overnight option at check out & there was an additional fee so I assumed I would get what I paid for but after finishing the transaction I noticed that they didn't include the overnight delivery that I requested. I called & tried to explain the problem but only got some Indian guy who couldn't understand me & vice versa. When I finally got him to wake his brain for a brief moment he informed me that I was basically screwed! No help at all. But best of all the supervisors refused to even speak with me & hung up! I was immediately charged for the phone & to this day I have yet to even receive a tracking number text or anything! The site clearly says that it would be shipped within 3 business days & as soon as it ships you will get a text with tracking number. And that even with regular delivery it would be no more than seven days! I'm very disgusted that a business like this is aloud to exist here in America! Let alone get away with treating their own customers this way! I smell a boycott coming.

I RETURNED AN ITEM HAD TO PAY FOR OWN RETURN SHIPPING AND THEY CHARGED ME 20% RESTOCKING FEE! WHICH NOONE CHARGES!
Assurance is absolutely, without a doubt the worst phone company I've ever had the misfortune to deal with! Not only did they send me TWO BROKEN PHONES, they are now refusing to close my account unless I call them personally. Wow! Another opportunity to wait thirty minutes for someone to answer and then try to talk me out of cancelling. No thanks. And, Since this is a no-contract phone and I owe them NOTHING, WILL NOT CALL THEM! IF they want to keep it open, they do so until H freezes over. I DON'T CARE!
I do, however, want to give special recognition to Shirley F who seems incapable of understanding why I want to cancel despite my sending repeated emails explaining the reason. YOUR COMPANY SENT ME TWO BROKEN PHONES, SHIRLEY. NOW STOP BOTHERING ME AND CANCEL MY ACCOUNT!
What a screwed up company. They were suppose to port over my existing cell number to my new phone and was told it would automatically be activated. Wrong! I was left with no active cell
