I am going to be 100% honest here. I have joined AM for about three months (back in 2014). There are good and bad points.

The bad point is...

The credits are VERY expensive and results are not better than on sites liek saphrina, vm or coparable sites. And yes, it is a VERY patient process becasue men outnumber the women by far.

The good point is...

Even though many people complain about AM, it is a legit site. Maybe one of the most legit sites after saphrina, vm, etc.It is sure always worth a try.

In a weak moment I ignored my good sense and signed myself up to be done over by Ashley Madison. I probably deserved it. Please learn from my experience.

Most of the profiles are fakes or prostitutes and scammers. I got many messages from Russian scammers and prostitutes at clock work intervals (every 15 minutes or so on average when online). It would be easy to blow your credit messaging these people if you didn't recognise them. The few real women listed are unresponsive because they are already inundated with messages from the many men who make up the vast majority of users.

When I realised with considerable self disgust what I had fallen for I decided to close my account. Ashley Madison added insult to injury by gouging an exit fee just to close my account! They extorted extra money from me to "remove all traces" of my activities. Of course I'll just have to take them at their word that they did so. It felt like blackmail and just a little bit rapey too. You got me once Ashley Madison but what you bought from me is a lot of bad press.

With competition from Tinder and the like this business is circling the drain anyway and most deservedly so.

I am very disappointed with this service. I have found several identical pictures with different names. Also when someone ask you to contact them, they never reply, come on they are stealing people's money.

Very disappointing, Total rip off you can spend all of your money in just an hour to use their so called "Affair Guarantee" membership. The Poorest and the rudest customer service. Most of the members are fake and will direct you to talk to their Private Phone numbers and email address

I was on this site for a month and was really turned off by the rules that are designed to drain your account rapidly. You have to pay to initiate conversation in addition to the nominal monthly rate. As soon as I joined I realized I had been had. I actually did speak with one female on the site but never met her as I had experienced so many fake profiles and scams... it's exhausting to skim through fake profiles... At the end I felt the task of conducting such arduous searching was not worth the supposed reward. If you want an affair just use another dating site... AM is a scam!

I agree with most. A lot of profiles are fake to get you to spend your money.
When I spend my credits i will not be renewing. For all the profiles that never responded I just marked popular. So if you see a profile with just popular marked STAY AWAY!

The vast majority of accounts are fake. Created by AM staff for "entertainment purposes". Of course you still have to pay to red the messages they send you.

I have used AM for approximately 6 months. I have met 2 women in person from the site, and had contact with a few more. It took me a bit to figure out how to message people cold and get a response back, for a while, I thought it was a big scam. I recently met the most insanely hot woman I have ever been with... and I have a pretty good self esteem. We have had the hottest 2 week fling I can imagine. They are out there, but if you aren't good with women... good luck. We discussed going exclusive... well... as exclusive as you get when having an affair! Thanks AM... I am now a believer!

Let me start by saying I actually met up with someone on Ashley Madison and have been having a fun affair. However, she was the exception rather than the rule. The site has many poorly publicized rules that can only have been designed to drain your account as quickly as possible. Also, many of the profiles seem either fake or set up by people (real women?) to attract as much activity as possible thus also draining your account quicker. I'm done with this site and wouldn't recommend it to most people - especially men.

I've been a member for 5 years and have met some lovely men and one or two disappointing men.

For the men in these reviews who claim they had no luck, I can only imagine they put little effort into their profiles, or else when they shared photos women did not find them attractive. You can hardly blame the website for that.

Also, if your wife won't shag you, it's unfair to assume a complete stranger will. Attend to your personal hygiene.

This site is a total rip off/scam. I know this how, I was a non paid up member for quite a while and ended up with a mail box full of prospects and collect mails from supposed interested parties, so I signed up thinking it would be such a drag if someone was on the other end trying to chat up.

I paid €50 and the next time I opened the thing my mailbox was clean as a whistle. There is no question about it, even the people claiming here that they have had some success, u have to work at it bla bla bla are just part of the scam, nobody would go to the extent of sending fake mails just to entice u otherwise.

I gave one star, but my rating is actually zero, there is nothing there other than a con.

When you send message is 5 credits and if your message is too long it will take 10 credits,,, how so I know that? Co I had 10 credits available and I sent a big message next thing I know my remaining 10 credits were gone! When you after you activate your acc you can read messages, then your credits won't go down after your read your first one,,, the next ones your credit won't go down but,, after your credits finish some of the messages you read already,, you can't read them anymore,, they are locked again! This needs to change,, too expensive!

Joined the site in Australia and have been on one week and used 100 credites my advice to people joining this site the first dozen or so women that contact you delete them straight away they will probably be scammers promoting their own sites. Although the promoters of the site say they screen this from happening it does
Be careful of live chat it is expensive ( 30) credits for 30 minutes I started a chat it lasted 5 minutes then the site shut down for no reason lost my 30 credits.
If you want to make contact only contact women that have a photo of themselves, I think the site like all other sites put fillers in to make it look as though they have a lot of members
Finally I suppose if you spend a lot of money on theses sites your sure to meet someone but for 3 or 4 hundred dollars your probably better joining a dating agency that specialises in extra marital affairs at least you can talk to some one.
P. s I did meet someone on the Ashyey site and we correspond daily the only problem is she lives on the other side of the world.
But I'm still a member like I said it is one of the more genuine sites I have come across but I'm not going to put a lot of money in it the probability of finding someone short term is not there

I agree with many others here and will also say what a revolting and low class act, it doesn't matter if your not happy, you make it work or you leave. Don't think for one second you won't be found out, all cheaters are found out its just a matter of time. I've been married for a long time now to a man who like me believes in complete honestly and nothing less, we don't even feel the need to look at others, were still very much in love, are best friends and gave a fantastic and exciting sex life, with each other. If you such a low life that you have to go behind your woman's back or such a whore that you can't keep your legs shut then you deserve all you get because in the end all you will have is loneliness, my husband and I laugh at the commercial for this site when it comes on and others like it because it's just so pathetic it's funny, I feel amazingly blessed seeing what trash is out there, that I found a man who actually loves and respects me, who is strong enough to have the control where he controls himself and doesn't allow animalistic desires to control him, a weak man is controlled by what's in his pants, not the kind of guy any woman needs so good luck to them.

I just saw the ad for this site. I hope that every single man that joins to cheat on his wife gets busted, taken to the cleaners and left with nothing except an STD. It's obviously a phoney site for pathetic losers. I've been cheated on, it's heart wrenching. Not that the b******s who look for affairs care. Man up, admit you're not happy and get a divorce you stupid, pathetic grubs. If you're not getting what you need at home, take a look at what you're offering.

I've been on AshMad off and on for about 5 years now. I've read many of the reviews here, and frankly, most of them are too taxing to read most of the others. Some of you are so tedious I'm not surprised the site didn't work for you! Jeez!

The site will give you what you put into it. Expecting immediate results? Try a hooker. Expecting some 5 star model to fall in your lap with minimal interaction on your part? Be realistic fella, especially if you're sitting at home with your gut spilling over your tighty whites.

There ARE quality women on the site if dudes use a little common sense, fill out a thoughtful profile (no check boxes only and MINUS the $#*! pics) and be patient (not thirsty as hell)…. It works. P*ssy rarely if ever fall s in your lap - whether it's a bar, work, walking down the street. Or online.

I would caution that AshMad is a BUSINESS, and yes, they use little tactics to get guys to EXHAUST credits, lol. Again, use common sense and avoid transferring credits, buying the "cyber gifts", participating in the fantasy dates or the instant messaging, etc. All crap designed to drain your credits so you'll have to reload quickly. AM also has a feature now where they AUTOMATICALLY send a "private showcase request " from a woman's profile (whom you messaged) who didn't actually send it, lol. They even show that she's looked at your profile - when she actually hasn't. All these measures are designed to HYPE a fella into thinking he has something other than the smoke and mirrors he may ACTUALLY have.

Again, use common sense and don't come off like a trick, a sucker, or super thirsty (same rules in dealing with women no matter WHERE you meet them, btw) and you can make this site work as well for you as I have for myself. I'd wish most of you good luck, but based on some of the comments I've read - you probably wouldn't know what to do with it, lol.

It is $#*!ed uo that there is a website and a commercial about a site like this! If you want to have an affair get a divorce you $#*!! Or here is a thought have sex with the woman you made a promise to! If your sex life is not where you want it to be it is partially your fault. It takes two to tango, and women are sexually to. You made a commitment! Follow it! What the $#*! are we teaching our future generations... this world is $#*!ed up! I'm glad I decided not to have children... why would I want my child to think it was ok to break a life long commitment to someone, and if your thinking it is better for the kids if we stay together... if your cheating they know, or will eventually find out. It is funny to me that ppl think they are hiding these things. The truth will always come out.
