In March 2022, we had a problem with our washing machine. Checking on the net there was an advertisement for a repair service that looked completely reliable. Their name was " The A Team Appliance Repair " When you open google and search their name usually pops up first. They service or SCAM people in the GTA. Check BBB and see the complaints against this company. Obviously I did not check the reviews. A technician showed up and I explained the situation. He checked the machine and said it will cost $290.00 to repair. I said ok and he told me stay in the living room as he did the repairs. I heard some noises coming from the laundry room and within 25 minutes, he said all is ok and the machine would reset within 3 hours. He also mentioned that the transmission assembly might have to be changed within 6 months. He collected our $ 290.00 plus taxes and left. 3 hours later we started up the machine and nothing worked. It was then I checked BBB and found out this company scams innocent people on a regular basis. We found another repair company and a team came up and took almost 90 minutes to repair our machine and ran the complete cycle to make sure all was ok before they left. Later that year our grandson had a problem and called the same company. The same results but he refused to pay the $ 290.00. Please copy this and share with all, so this company will soon close their doors.

We hired them to fix our refrigerator. They told us that they would send someone by our house to give us a quote for $80 which would be deducted if we chose to proceed. My wife and I were away so the "repair man" came by while my son was home. He proceed to do something with the fridge and they called me to say that we needed a part that would cost $1422. I told him not to do anything since we could get a brand new fridge for the same price. Unfortunately he had already done some "work" and charged us $322.20. I asked him if it was working and he said yes. The next morning my son woke up and found that our fridge was again not working and all of our food had spoiled. When I looked up the company (which I should have done before calling them) I discovered that this was not an isolated incident and that many reviewers had relayed similar stories. When I contacted the company, they denied that they told me it would be $80 and that labour was not refundable. They were dismissive and rude. Total scam and that should be avoided at all costs.

I am just beating myself up for not reading reviews on this company before engaging them. They quoted $80 service fee to come in to look at my fridge that was not working. When they arrived, they then quoted $290 labour to further locate the cause. After taking apart my fridge they told me it will require parts totalling $751. After ordering and installing the parts, the tech said it was done and working but on the bill (he wrote "compressor $1870") my bad for just trusting what he said without seeing the note on the final invoice. So basically, I have paid $1176 for a 10 year old fridge repair that still will require another $1870 more in repair. SUCH A SCAM. Their scam is to replace part by part my old fridge. It will cost double what a new fridge would cost.

Shame on me for not doing my homework on these guys.

Pls stay away.
They charge you for a piece to see if the appliance will work once the piece installed
If your appliance doesn't work, well you are stuck to pay for that piece

Absolutely the worse company! They tell you 80.00 for service call then soak you for 320.00 so they are guaranteed the work at that point. They had to order a motor for my dry they informed me 840.00 for the motor. At this point I thought that was steep for a little dryer motor. So I did some research called a couple appliances places turns out the part cost 210.00 locally too. They have the part marked up 4 times the cost. Needless to say this part new came damaged so they had to re order. 2 weeks later. There tech comes with no parts or can or truck. Comes in a car. Shows for the 3rd time and doesn't have the capability to get the blower off the motor. Which he informs me they normally order that to cause it's easier but they didn't. Another week and promised the following Monday or Tuesday for install. I get a call on Tuesday asking me to book appt for the following week. 4 weeks to get a dryer fixed! 1200.00 in total. Please do not use this company! It's to bad all the negative reviews came up after the fact! There is lots of complaints on the BBB about this company! Absolutely not professional! I advise and warn you not to use this company! They don't deserve the one star but have to check one.
They go under another name appliance repair team as well maybe that's why no reviews came up in the first place! Wow I can't believe the amount of bad reviews! I don't believe there is one good one! Here is a company that makes no changes to better their services to clients to turn this around and better themselves and provide a good service!
Oh I might add the tech out my dryer together didn't have any new clips or clamps to put the pane back on which would be a common thing to carry is my thinking so they used duct tape can you believe it 1200 dollars no clips but duct tape! And they leave the old parts for you to get rid of. Absolutely pathetic.

Update to review since you can't post another. They have been reported. Came out again like the 6th time and are trying to tell me needs another part but the tech showed me the blower that was replace is chewed up clearly no the right part they want another 350 dollars. Absolutely brutal company no customer satisfaction look at the reviews. PLEASE REPORT ON AND SHARE ON FACEBOOK. This company needs to be stopped!

This company is dishonest about how they provide their services. They charge a $80 dispatch fee and before they diagnose the problem they charge $361.60 and make it seem as if this is the cost to repair the appliance. They were called to service my fridge and my father shared with them what was wrong and the way the customer service representative spoke, the understanding was that the technician was going to fix my fridge. When the technician arrived my elderly aunt agreed to the price and contract in hopes of being helpful because the company arrived earlier that the scheduled service appointment. My aunt was asked to sign a contract before they opened the fridge. Unfortunately I lost my money because the contact was signed and the money was paid before I got home. Fortunately, I made it home in time before the money for replacement parts were paid for. They do not provide the customer with the appropriate information to make an informed decision about the repairs. There is additional proof on Homestars of people having similar experiences with this company and sadly for those who went ahead with repairs, losing their money because they did not fix their appliances. When I called customer service the person kept referring to the contract saying that it was signed and there was nothing that could be done. I honestly do not understand how a company such as this one is still in service. I was sad to read similar reviews on this website as well.

They bill you $80 +tax right away for booking (called dispatch fee). On Feb. 8th, 2023, Appliancerepairteam sent a technician to investigate my not cold fridge at Marengo Court, Waterloo. Prior to the appointment, I ageeed to pay tech $80 + tax to dispatch tech. When tech arrived I also confirmed with tech if he could fix my LG fridge which not cold. He said he had seen this many times and knew exactly the problem with mainboard and could easily fix. I ageeed to pay amount $372. After about 1/2 hour the tech said all good and he clearly instructed me to wait for about 7 hours to plug the fridge back in and all good to go. I even asked him if anything ok so my compressor is still running, he said no problem and my compressor running but litlle hot but fine and any problem I had 30 days warranty. I plugged the fridge back in as told and it did not get cold for 24 hours.
I called services team to explain and agent gave me chat link to file a complain. It is horrible when I tried to explain to the representative. Agent said I need to replace a compressor with amount $1,400 +tax and nothing they can do.
Obviously the technician was not honest so Appliancerepairteam.ca. I even request to speak the tech that visited my home to verify what he said to me.
This is horrible comapany and not honest and trying to rip off its clients. I strongly not reccomend it to anyone looking for a repair. They don't fix my equipment problem but created more issues with money and times

Please see the reasons why the cancelation, even if I have my range appliance in the middle of the kitchen where the technician left it on his first and last visit on Jan 26th.- No timing commitment not even left a message to cancel the appointment. When the technician told us that the parts and the service were going to take just a week.- Poor or absent customer service, they never solve any of the issues.- My last talk was with the Office Manager (Selana). When I talked to her I understood why the company has those bad reviews. Disrespectful, unprofessional, unreliable, with no empathy at all, and not a customer-oriented company.
Even if I have to pay a penalty for canceling the job, I prefer to wait 2 more weeks for an unreliable service. Be careful because they made a very difficult refund process so you would keep the service.
My great mistake was forgetting to read the reviews. So please, don't take the service as granted.

Nov 22 tech said couldn't repair and gave us quote for 2243.75 and took half on deposit, wouldn't take a credit card, just debit. The following week we received a phone call from a rude individual who said they wouldn't order the parts because the tech had underestimated, an wanted another $1,000.00 despite the signed contract. It took until Jan 20 to get the money back.

They scammed us out of several hundred dollars for dishwasher repair which they did not do. We had to pay in advance for labour/parts that they never installed, they wrapped electrical tape around a broken part to cover up that it was never replaced (created a fire hazard!), lied that the dishwasher was now working (which it wasn't - it still leaked) and refused to give us our money back. FRAUD!

Extremely disappointed and disgusted with this business! Their staff are poorly trained from the customer service center to the appliance repair tech staff! Do not contact this company! I highly recommend Presto Appliance repair! They diagnosed the problem in minutes and provided a fair price and returned to install the proper item! THe A team misdiagnosed and charged double the cost! No apology and or refund, credit or resolve! AWFUL BUSINESS!

This company is an expert to rob the customer. I paid 361 to this technician in order to fix my fridge after the first diagnostic. He spent 20 min on my fridge and told me everything is working. I request to wait some time in order to confirm that my fridge is cooling, and he agrees to stop by if this is not cooling. After 6 hours, I just figure that this is a dishonest group and I just lost $361. Because the company on the phone claimed that I pay $361 just to check my fridge issue and now claiming $650 plus labor to change a part.
Please never accept these people in your house.

This company has scammed one more customer by charging $333. In labour charges without fixing the Refrigerator. We told that the cost is $295 for labour. A young man came, looked at the Fridge, without even fixing anything, suggested a part for 600.00 then bill us $333 without any labour work. All that was done was diagnostic. PLEASE STAY AWAY. THIS IS A SCAM. They said it was only a dispatch fee of $80. When I called the office to confiirm-*******010, a lady told me whatever the technician says goes and that she couldnt help. What can be done to stop this company from continuing to scam everyone! Please do your research before hiring them. If there was 0 star, they will surely get

They scammed me with 350$ without fixing the issue. His tech went out from home telling me that the fridge will work. 4 hours later nothing working. Tey told you have to pay for other visit to fix it
unprofessional and they stole my money

I had an issue were my dishwasher was not draining. Jaimeen came and diagnose the issue promptly and had it repair within the hour. Amazing service and I would absolutely recommend them.

We have a Brada Washer that was not draining. I disconnected the two hoses to the drain pump and found a Loonie and Toonie coins stuck in the hose going into the pump. This caused the pump to burn out (suspected). The repair man wanted to replace the pump and the mother board. I said no, just replace the pump and let's see if that works. Asked for a quote to do this and the quote was $727 for the pump plus $140 labour. I went online and found the exact pump for $70 plus tax and shipping. Took me 30 minutes to install. Washer running perfect through 4 loads so far. We called "*******@appliancerepairteam.ca" and they sent this company. See photo below of pump.
