Very supportive and informative on unfamiliar and highly stressful duties. APFM is an amazing service. I am grateful for everyone working upfront and behind the scenes.
The woman I was in contact with while looking into assisted living was from Maine. She was lovely and extremely helpful We toured several assisted living facilities. We had planned on just looking which we did over several months. We finally decided in June that it was appropriate for us to apply now. We will
Be moving in this month as a unit the size we needed became available.
I call this a wonderful world because when I didn't know what to do a place for mom came at the right time. I was frustrated and aggravated and a place for mom made my mind at ease.
I started working with Jennifer around the holidays. At first I was looking for assisted living and then changed to home care. Jennifer switched gears with me each time I asked for different information. She sent me several company's that offered home care and I chose one of them that has worked out pretty good. Then, when I needed a respite care place, she assisted with that as well and gave suggestions within the price range I set. She even helped set up some of the visits. I would use A Place for Mom again.
It was such a blessing to have all hands on deck to help us navigate through this process.
As difficult as end of life care is emotionally, it's compounded by all the logistical hurdles you have to overcome to place your loved one. A Place for Mom gave me the support I needed.
Staff is more than willing always to help, there over whelming care is something unusual to see in a nursing facility. The property is always clean inside and out.
Our family was getting ready to start the search for an assisted living community. Then disaster struck with a stroke for my mom! We had a short time to find a home for her. A Place for Mom found four different communities that all were great. They helped us know what to look for with our situation and guided us to find the perfect fit!
A place for mom was extremely fast and efficient in assisting us in finding a place for mom. They listened to our needs and provided helpful tips and feedback during the process. Their online system is excellent in settling and tracking appointments. Anna was awesome. Thank you!
We worked with Gayle. She was extremely helpful, resourceful, and understanding.
Dealing with sudden challenges in finding the appropriate facility for my mother's care, "A Place for Mom" quickly guided me to find an Assisted Memory Care facility. The staff was extremely helpful and asked questions which steered me in the right direction. Thank you so much for helping our family in a time of need.
A Place for Mom has been extremely helpful to me—twice! Once when I was looking for in home care and again when I decided to move into independent/assisted living. When I broke my ankle and needed round the clock care, A Place for Mom provided me with a list of several companies that provide such care. After interviewing I chose one that worked for me. Later when it became clear I couldn't remain at home, they helped me find the perfect place for me. Morgan was a tremendous help.
A Place for Mom my sisters and I find a new home for mom. It took well over a year to get mom to understand and agree that she was no longer safe living by herself. During that time, A Place for Mom helped us narrow down our options of where to begin looking. The people I spoke with were kind and understanding. They assured me that everything we were going through was very normal and just part of the process when parents don't want to move. Once my mom said she was ready to move, we had narrowed down the choices so she only had to look at 3 different places. One immediately felt like home and now she is settled in and happy to have others to do activities with. I may not have even found the senior living home we chose if it weren't for A Place for Mom. Thank you!
The gentleman I initially spoke to did in about 20 minutes what would have taken me hours to do. He took down my mothers special needs to narrow my search down and had a list for me in my desired locations. He even booked my first appointment. Thanks to A Place for Mom we quickly found my mother a lovely affordable assisted living home quickly.
My initial experience with the first representative from a place for Mom Laura Lane She was very helpful. Very kind. Very understanding and compassionate she spent a lot of time with me on the phone on a Sunday. She set up two tours for me. She was very good and I had a really good impression. Once I got handed off to the second team member Dekenna Rohde the dedicated, senior living advisor. It was not good at all not sure why her title is advisor as she did none of that. She didn't really check in called maybe twice after almost a week and left a message she ask if I needed another tour, but I had set them up and taken care of everything myself. I left a message asked if they had information or resources about what to do while making decisions maybe some checklist maybe some things to ask about maybe some Other benefits that I could apply for or additional information never reached out directly. She just sent me the stock emails that I think they send to everyone. Once I had taken care of everything and got my mother placed she called and asked about the tours and how they went, I would've thought she should already know thinking they would be in contact with the communities and follow up with them especially since I had already placed my mother they referred me but I guess not. I asked if she had any additional information or resources that might be helpful post placement she said no but that's a good idea. In my experience once the initial person hands you off to the dedicated, senior living advisor. Second they really dropped the ball and don't help at all. I was left to navigate that portion by myself. Fortunately, the community I picked was absolutely wonderful and helped me a lot. Not at all impressed with the handoff at least in my case. Horrible That's unfortunate I think they probably have a really good product, at the initial contact but the second half and end of the service is awful.
When I contacted this service, I did not expect to have luck and I was pleasantly surprised that not only did we find a place for my family member but if it wasn't for these folks assisting me, I don't think we would have been as successful. I highly recommend a place for Mom. Thank you.
I was amazed that we actually got to speak to someone when we called as it was later on a Sunday evening. We were directed to Jill who talked us through needs for our Dad and we were able to tour places in the area the next day!
The follow up is stellar, too!
This was my second time to contact A Place for Mom, both times I got an immediate callback, got so much helpful information, they helped me place my mom in a perfect assisted living. The staff was kind, patient and made themselves so available to me for any questions. I would 100% recommend A Place for Mom to anyone needing assistance in finding the best place possible for their parents.

Answer: In the Greater Louisville (Kentuckianna) metro area there are several I can recommend you consider based on our tour of recommended facilities in Southern Indiana. As residents of Southern Indiana, just across the river from Louisville, we chose Silvercrest in New Albany Indiana. They offer independent living in freestanding apartments as well as assisted living and also more complete care for those needing it. We also really liked Traditions at Hunters' Station in Sellersburg which has identical options, and Bennett House in Clarksville, which offers assisted living and additional services but does not have independent living. Some of these do have limited Medicaid beds in their nursing facilities.
