Apartments.com will reject an honest review to protect the landlord, the property and their website and it's all a part of organized crime. If you have a terrible situation with a slum lord that over charged you for an apartment that is still listed online for less you should be able to expose that. Apartments.com keeps rejecting my review for Ormsby Lofts and there are multiple reviews stating the same thing I have except mine says the landlord charged me $50 more than the listed price and that they went up on my rent without notice in December around Christmas and that you can not opt out of trash removal even if you take your trash to the dumpster. The apartment review website will not allow me to tell the truth and there is another apartment complex called Heritage Green Apartments where in 2021, they said the rent was $965 but when we signed the lease, we were told it was $1000 a month. Fine but why for years does Apartments.com.and the slum Lord not listed the accurate price?

I'm surprised this company bothers to waste money on advertising-- that is, until I remember advertising is a tax deduction for businesses.

While many of the listings are legitimate, the best advice I can impart is that- BEFORE YOU SEND YOUR DETAILS USING THEIR CONTACT FEATURE- you note who the renting agency is and not only search their reviews but also go to their direct website to verify what listings are real and what amenities are included. Zillow is pretty great for sharing how many days a listing has been up as well as rent history (when it was changed and how much it changed).

If you DO use their message relay system, and IF you do get a reply, you'll be met with a message that seems like all they got was your contact info and no direct questions nor requests for viewing will even be acknowledged. It's probably just collecting your name, email, and phone number to build their stock value. Help them, if you like!

Apartments.com has a flag button to report problem listings but they never do anything about the issue, regardless of links included.

Don't reward failure. Apartments.com cannot be trusted.Use it like the ho it is (exactly as the listing agents do). Find out the addresses and cross reference the listing companies for legitimacy and behavior. There's nothing like finding out the company habitually posts unavailable properties to grab your application fee for something that doesn't exist.

And if you DO pay out application and background check fees to rental agencies, make sure you get a receipt with their company letterhead on it. Because THAT is tax deductible for individuals!

Starting with the hand picked reviews, that's a terrible practice, users cannot post reviews that supposedly go against their policies, so all of the ratings in this app/website cannot be trusted.

Additionally this website and app suffer from horrible performance issues, and there are times when half the apartments do not load, OR perhaps is that the high fees they charge are scaring off good apartment landlords.

Stick with Google Maps for your next apartment.

This website refuses to let me post my review of the Eddison apartment that is compliant in, Enviornmental Racism by knowingly renting out roach invested apartments with water leaks in the wall's which roaches and mold can effect a person of color's health, False Advertising, They posted the picture of the pool being clear and clean when the reality is it is a green dirty mosquito pool that's dirty 99% of the year that is like a dirty huge bird bath bathtub for the pigeons around the property in the city, It keep's saying sorry it CAN'T post my review but this happens on all of these type of websites, Because they are trying to control the narrative, To prevent black woman from having a voice against injustice, They have bad management blacklist black woman after getting evicted from here because of hard time's after covid knowingly knowing that black woman are the most blacklisted group effected by evictions making it extremely hard to find a place to live and being homeless right before they posting about mental health awareness day on google, Trash is always out that attracts flies and maggot's, Dog's peeing on the balcony, Dumpster's and soaking wet moldy furnisher set out that effects health one again, ETC, This place only cares about profits, They will evicted you for not paying during hard time's getting you blacklisted because you have been evicted but DON'T care about people of color's or low-socialeconomic background's of people health or well-being

156 Fair street, Paterson NJ is the worst building in the world. The tenants are always fighting and loud. The quality of life is the worst I've ever experienced. The tenants are selling drugs in the building, and it smells like weed throughout the entire building. The walls are thin and have no sound barrier. You are constantly hearing the apartment next door all through your apartment. The apartment I rented, had a neighbor that was absolutely unbearable to live next to. They would come in late at night and their bedroom shared the same wall as my bedroom. The worst and most unthoughtful, lazy design of the living space. Every night at the same time 2 to 3 in the morning, he would come in, yelling, playing the video game, and screaming at the game at the top of his lungs. Playing music loud and talking on the phone loudly, until 6 or 7 in the morning, definitely until daybreak, Then they go to sleep and still keep you up because you hear the loud snoring coming through the thin cheap walls. You should expect to be woken up every night out of your sleep. You can't even use your bathroom in peace, because it shares the same wall with the neighbor's bathroom. You can actually hear them passing gas or worse. You hear your neighbors having sex because there is no privacy with the thin, cheap sheet rock. When it rains it leaks into the first-floor apartments from the foundation not being properly constructed. Now it's mildew or looks like some type of dangerous mold that you should not be breathing. The apartment is very costly to run the appliances. The washer and dryer, dishwasher, or any appliance, had my utility bill higher than I have ever seen before. The rent keeps going up at a ridiculous amount. I entered the lease in 2021 paying $2200, and $75 for my pet. In 2022 the rent went up $100 and $35 for the pet, to a total of $2435. So expect your rent to go even higher every year. The owner is the worst person in the world. All he cares about is money and doesn't fix anything. The building is surrounded by drug addicts. You walk out your door and you got to push the front door open because a drug addict it sitting there shooting up or sleeping. There are drug addicts hanging out in front of the building all times of day and night, shooting heroin and smoking crack right in front of your face. Even in front of your child. This is the worse location in the world. You will even find them hanging in the backyard, so you must be very mindful of that when taking out the trash. Never let your child take the trash out. The property management does not respond to your maintenance request. The kitchen sink leeks and no one fixed it. When we moved in, cabinets shelves were missing and they never resolved that the entire length of the lease. The smoke alarms are faulty. You can't turn on the oven or cook anything without the fire alarm going off. All the owner cares about is money and he is really the worse human in the world. They could care less about their tenants and what they are going through. I don't care how long you paid your rent on time and responsible, if you are late, they will start the eviction process. Even after a week of being late, you will get the letter, and they will post it on the front entrance door so that everyone in the building and outside of the building will see your personal information. I can't warn you enough about this building. STAY CLEAR! United Assets sets black own businesses back 100 years. I would have second thoughts about ever leasing from a black own business because of this owner and his sons. They are the definition of unprofessional, ineptitude, and just plain incompetency. Instead of the rating starting at 1-5, there should be a 0-5. They would most definitely get the 0.

Mostly great solution for managing rentals. Fairly easy to set up and automate monthly bills, but one flaw that definitely needs to be addressed.
At the end of a lease, if returning all or some of the tenant's security deposit, there is no way to send money back to the tenant through the system, nor is there a way to record the return of the security deposit outside the system. This leaves the system either showing that you collected more money than you have (which will show additional earnings come tax season), or if you add a credit to track the offline refund, it shows the tenant has a positive balance when in fact it should be a $0 balance. Support does not have a solution at time of this review.

How dare a business advertise they will help you in an apartment search and help to get you into a place. I paid $30 for my grandson to fill out applications. Then another $30 for me to be a co-signer. Have not heard ONE word. NOT ONE. I emailed them. Never have heard back. Going to my bank to file for fraudulent charges. I would not even give Apartments.com one star they definitely don't deserve it. Very bad way of doing business. Matter of fact, how are they even still in business.

I lived at Puckett Pointe for 12 years and moved out December 2021 because a new company took over and raised my rent hundreds of dollars to the amount of the brand new refurbished apts but refused to do any updates to mine. I had the same 12 year old appliances, paint and carpet. Security was terrible. The fumigations never worked. Management is unprofessional. Maintenance took my parking cone. I literally made them hand it back to me from the back of their truck. I witnessed my elderly mom get an eviction notice for rent being short $1 and I gave her some of my towels to soak up water after the apts water heater located in the laundry room flooded her apartment and they refused to fix damages. Instead, they verbally mistreated her and gave her a 60 day eviction notice for "unsafe living conditions" and are charging her $300 for the machines that they brought in to dry out walls and the carpet soaked with water from the properties water heater flood. We had to hurry up and come up with moving money because she is on a fixed income. This whole situation has been stressful and traumatizing for the entire family. My elderly mom lost sleep and weight. Luckily, the family came together and was able to find my mom a clean safe apartment to live in. I pray no other family has to experience this type of treatment from Puckett Pointe.

The website creates a fake customer review score for a property that doesn't reflect the resident's experience in the apartment.

An apartment I live in has 4/8 1 star reviews and only a few suspect 5 star reviews.

This place was made very poorly. Look great from the outside.!
But…. BIG FOOT will live above you. Dogs will park all day and night. Sleep is hard to come by.
And parking is a joke.! Save your money look else wear. You will sleep better.!

Never rent from this property, the HOA will fine you for any alleged, false, unverified infraction. If you contest the fine, you are intimidated by them. Avoid the property.

There was a Swxual Assault that happened last night at the Symphony Apartments Frye Road and Dobson. I just moved out of the Symphiny Apartments last week. I lived there fir 5 years. The first two years were great. After that, AWFUL! The new Management never fixes anything, and after Civid hit in 2020, the following year 2021, they decided to raise the rent $400 per month, and accept Section 8. Not that there is anything wrong with Section 8, but sometimes the tenants become a little more suspect. Also it is suppose to be a gated community, lol ha ha... NOT. The gates have been broken for over a year. All I can say is GOOD LUCK IF YOU MOVE HERE. Lots of mosquitos, ants, sewer ranches, and now CRIMINALS!
