I found Angie's rates are very high when it comes to cleaning services. I am not sure how do they determine the cleaning services prices but it is very high.
They do have some good people on their site for other jobs but on the whole I prefer the word of month recommendation.
I was looking for cleaning services and Angi showed $40 to $90 (or $25 to $90/hour) in Nevada. To me it is unproportionate rate. Some other sites like care.com had $17/hour in Nevada which is more reasonable.
Angi is just the WORST! First, you can NEVER get through on their 1800# to actually speak to someone. Even after I left a call back number - no one ever gets back to you.
They then charge you for membership - got a discount - tried to book a pro. He NEVER showed up. We were at the address. He said his GPS sent him to the address but he didn't show up. I guess he needs new GPS.
I then get a text message that the Pro did show up when he didn't. It's just an awful experience. I ended up cancelling the appointment but now have to pay a $25 cancellation fee. Absolutely awful!
Avoid yourself the pain by simply going to Yelp and finding someone there. Angi is just horrible!
I was very happy with the referrals Angi.com offered and extremely satisfied with the work done by Silver Hammer Home Services, Inc.
However, I was frustrated and very displeased by the constant flow of emails and phone calls from Angi.com, checking on the work done and progress. Ridiculous that I received so many calls and emails within a days of contacting Angi.com - don't you realize that these projects take time for planning, scheduling? Give people a chance and wait at least 2 weeks before your barrage of emails/phone calls start in.
I was given a price for biweekly lawn care, the person who scheduled went thru a long list of questions and told me if I pay their $28 annual fee, I would get 20% off of all services. I agreed and this was charged immediately to my card. "Angi" quoted 55.00 for bi-weekly lawn care, 15 mins before 1st appt, I received text that this appt was cancelled and rescheduled. When person called to reschedule the price was now $120, I can't get ahold of anyone at Angi to get my $ back, avoid at all costs!
Used Angi to find a contractor. Vendor did the work poorly and would not honor the 5 year warranty. Angi missed several financial and legal issues with the company during their "screening process" and did nothing to resolve but post a review and call the vendor. They also offered arbitration but the vendor does not have to accept. DO NOT USE ANGI OR HOME ADVISOR. Do your own research. Angi gets paid by the vendors and thus will be biased to recommend them. They will not help if a dispute arises even though they post a Happiness Guarantee on their site. They told me I did not qualify for that.
No worthwhile contractor asks for a deposit for a job estimate, nor should a third-party recommendation site (honest ones state up front how they make their money through advertising and referred jobs, NOT by charging for inquiries and estimates!). Asked for contractors to provide bids for a lanai, got hit up byu Angi for a deposit over $300 before the contractor comes out! Absolute drek.
This review is for anyone using Angie's list as a lead generator. They lie out of the gate to get you signed up and then charge you for leads you never contacted. I was told that leads would be exclusive and that I would have to accept the leads to be charged. This is false. They also send the leads to as many contractors as they can and charge every single one of them a fee regardless if you do the job or not. Be careful if you work with Angie's list as they will tell you one thing and do something totally different. Do yourself a favor and search for companies yourself and give the money to small Businesses. Angie's list takes from small businesses.
Excellent experience and a job well done and for the most part the price was worth every dime
Angi needs to improve their contractor biz. You are required to pay UP FRONT and then you are not told if the contractor is not coming. You have to call them to even find that out.
Angi needs to tell someone if a contractor is not coming before they change their work day, twice.
BUYER BEWARE. I had to insist on a refund. This portion of their biz is going to spiral them to lower ratings.
Wall knocked down by car replaced by Phil and team with Transform Landscape. Early to work and punctual with deadline. Very honest and cleanup every day. Replaced tree and reconnected irrigation. Painted wall after constructing. I recommend Phil for any hardscape and landscape work. He is a seasoned professional.
Sent over contractors for the job in a timely manner. Had the opportunity to go over what they offered. The one we chose was by far excellent at there skills.
The salesman told me i would only be charged for the leads that I got. That was a lie. I was charged for every lead. I mean who would agree to pay for leads they give to others. I asked one customer he said the got 9 other companies from Angie's. Salesman told me only three other company's will get the same lead. So that was a lie. Salesman told me I could cancel anytime. That was a lie. You can only pause the service 2 weeks at a time. Basically they lied about everything. Also the don't refund money only account credit. I would give zero star but it won't let me. If you are just starting a company do not use Angie's they will steal your money and there is nothing you can do
McCrea Plumbing removed my old (2004) heat pump/AC units and installed a new, high efficiency system. They arrived on time and did a fine job, finishing in less that one day. I am very pleased with McCrea, and especially with the turn around time from my initial request through Angi -- ONE DAY!
I want to say million thanks for glass window for delivery to me home and with care.
I used Agnie's List for years with great success. However, Angi is the worst. Stay away, unless you like being baragged with unsolicited phone calls and emails. I was looking for an electrician. I found one and without even spreaking with the company, I was immediately given a quote (based on what?) and to continue was requred to pay for the quote before I could proceed. I did not. Now I am getting follow-up email and phone calls. NEVER AGAIN. The new owners of Agnie List have killed a great homeowner resource. Better to just Google whatever professional you are looking for and read the Google reviews.
Rooter came very fast and job was completed on a Sunday and they were very busy and booked were able to squeeze me in there tight schedule. That is very appreciate. Great job!
Answer: You'll have to contact the website directly. They don't monitor the Sitejabber website. Try to see if you can get them to delete your profile. If not, I would contact the Better Business Bureau or the Attorney General's office or another state law enforcement office in your state. This sounds like fraud to me (but, I'm not a lawyer).
