I contacted Angi for a house cleaner. They referred someone. 2/3 days before he was supposed to arrive - the gentleman they actually came to my home to alert me that he did not do the kind of work Angi recommended him for. OK. We really appreciated him taking the time to let me know that. I called Angi. I emailed Angi 3 times. Still - they charged me! They paid him and charged me for work that was not done! It is all but impossible to find an actual phone number on the angi site unless you have a paid membership. I finally was able to identify a chat option ( it was for new work - but I used it anyway.) Initially I was told I had to contact another department - I did that - that department told me they had no record of the (3) attempts I'd made to cancel. AND there was "NO SUPERVISOR" on "the floor" When I threatened to contact the BBB (which it looks like they are not a member of) I was told "good news - I was able to reverse your charge- It should be on your account in 3-5 days - BEWARE! BEWARE! BEWARE! They do not vet their providers thoroughly, and when THEY make a mistake, you are ignored. BEWARE!

Booked a service. Lawn Mowing, Weed around the trees, the mailbox, the house and garage. Edge along the driveway and sidewalk. Quoted $86.00. Arrival time is 8:00am. Approximately 2 hour job? I question that, our yard is a little over 1500 sq ft. But their the Pro's. It's now 2 hours past the time the Pro's were supposed to show up, so I call the number provided by Angi's and the number is a non working number. I emailed Angi's, because the customer service number just rings. Big Mistake on my part, Huge, huge mistake. Why can't folks be honest? Is it that hard? Today is July 1st,

I used their service to hire a pro to install handicap grab bars for my elderly disabled mother. The pro showed up early and I thought all was well… until my mom grabbed the bar and I discovered it was loose. I checked the other two bars and another bar was also loose. The third bar was fine. I contacted Angi list customer service and was told, without them asking for proof…ie pictures… that the pro completed the job and would be paid accordingly. Are you serious? And just like that, my concerns were dismissed. Never again and if you are reading this, you might want to hire thru thumbtack or simply google and read the reviews first. Where do I begin? The biggest problem I have with Angi is that the "Client Success Managers" NEVER return your phone calls or emails. Six emails and 4 phone calls later, I'm still waiting for my "representative" to contact me. This seems to be a common complaint in other reviews about this company. They take your money and then don't wish to speak to you again. I was able to get her to respond when I contacted customer service and told them I wanted to cancel and wanted to talk to her supervisor.
Beware of the fine print as well, you have to pay a 35% cancellation fee when you do cancel. Basically I will have spent $1455 for one month (I can't stand it any longer than that).
The "leads" are price shoppers, nothing more. You can NEVER get decent customers when you're dealing with price shoppers. Some of them may not even be real leads. With two of them, I responded within 3 minutes of receiving notice that I had a "project" awaiting. There was no answer at the phone number given and after leaving a message, never heard back from either "project".
I've been in business 13 years and Angi is the absolute WORST "advertiser" I have ever dealt with. May I suggest getting on Next Door. In the same period of time where I got FOUR phone calls with absolutely no income received and $1455 spent on Angi, Next Door gave me FOUR jobs that all ended in revenue and my expenditure on advertising to get those jobs was ZERO. Stay away from Angi unless you enjoy flushing your money down the toilet.

They scheduled an appointment for a handyman to come out today at 10; 30. At 11; 15 I called Angi to say they had not arrived.
We never received any contact info about the company so we had no way to contact them. The person on the phone at Angi's said they had rescheduled for 6/30.
How did they reschedule without contacting us? 6/30 is not a convenient date for us. I cancelled that date and do not plan on doing business with Angi again. Extremely unprofessional with unhelpful customer service.

I requested recommendations from Angi and then received a call from a person who said they were representing Angi. He said I needed to pay there estimated amount in order to get the list of providers who would perform the service. Since I haven't used this service before this sounds super shady to me! I refused and he kept talking, telling me this is how they do things. I disconnected the call and reported it back to Angi I haven't heard from them so maybe this is how they work. I want no part of it!

No matter what you do or what they say, the spamming never stops. They (angi.com, not contractors) keep emailing you over and over no matter how many times you unsubscribe.

I had an awesome experience at Eastern Dental of Marlton. Dr. Paliouras is the best! I went to the office because I bit down on a pit from an olive (not knowingly of course) The pain was unbelievable. I wasn't sure if I had broken the tooth or not. The pain was not constant, but I definitely could not eat on that side of my mouth. Even using a Waterpik flosser was unbearable. I was fortunate to be able to get an appointment Friday morning. From the time I arrived the atmosphere was great. Beginning with Ms. Liz, everyone was friendly and helpful. Dr. Schwarz took me in for the initial check of my tooth. He did the x-rays and explained what a stress fracture was and what it meant going forward. He explained that I would have to have root canal surgery. (Words I could have gone the rest of my life without hearing) He took me out to Mr. Naeem to get scheduled. Mr. Naeem was very thorough with his explanation of what would happen next. When he was finished telling me what the next steps would be, he told me that they had a doctor present that could do the root canal for me. He asked Dr. Paliouras and he was able to do the procedure that day. Dr. Paliouras explained every step of the way what was happening and what I should expect. Dr. Paliouras made me feel at ease. I felt absolutely no pain (not even from the needles). Ms. Janelle was awesome. She took the time to fully explain the next few weeks and what I should expect. I will recommend everyone I know to your office! Thanks for such an awesome experience!

I started using the Angie's List website almost since it started, some 20years ago. I liked the idea that consumers give ratings and the workers know that there will be feedback on their services. So, when I needed some handyman work done, I signed up for a year membership and scheduled service. The first problem I had, was I was given only a person's name and rating. Wasn't able to check his ratings. So I emailed the support services---never got an answer. Then 2 hrs. Before the appt. Got a text saying that due to a call out problem (?) I had been re-scheduled for the following Saturday. Wasn't given a choice for re-booking. I called customer service, and all I got was some scripted message about the different plans. As far as the no show, they said sometimes they can't find enough workers to fill the spots. Huh? I had a CONFIRMED appt, and even spoke to the person the previous weekend, who said, "See you on Tues." Normally, when you complain about a company's service, your concerns will be fowarded to someone who will look into your complaints and follow-up. Not now. Your complaints are handled by someone at a call center. When they asked if I was satisfied with the support call, I said "No" and wanted to cancel my subscription. Again, nothing but "we'll give you a credit of $10 on your next service." Well, needless to say, I cancelled my subscription. If you are smart, you will stay far away from this "new" company. They are only in it to make lots of money on useless plans. Very disappointed that the original Angie, who was all about making customers happy, has sold out to a big national corporation.

Mr. Walters is a brilliant and talented craftsman.He replaced rotten floors in shower stall, built a bench in shower.He replaced and repaired sheet rock. His tile work is remarkable. Mr. Walters number one priority is to make sure customer is well satisfied and happy with his work.My husband and I are very blessed to have a kind and respectful man like Mr. Walters remodel our bathroom. I would highly recommend him for your homeowner needs.

I applied for an interior painting job and paid the $100 refundable deposit on 6/14. Very friendly Max from Home Advisor called 2 times and texted 2 times that day, He said he was my project manager and would take care of arranging everything. He sent a text to update me on 6/16 Sorry, no availability of local painters so far. He also texted that he would call back the next day (6/17) with more updates. I waited until 6/21 to text HIM, requesting some kind of update. On 6/23, it had been ONE FULL WEEK WITHOUT ANY CONTACT, so I called Customer Service to terminate contract and arrange for a refund. I was told by C. S. that I would be getting a phone call from the "Card Adjustment Team" to arrange for said refund. I also texted Max to let him know I was very disappointed that he had not contacted me and that I was getting a refund.
Today, 6/25, I called the "Card Adjustment Team" myself, only to find out that Max had submitted a refund request for me way back on 6/18! The money's already back on the card! This is good news, but I had no idea that Max had quit me and never texted or called to say he was giving up. Apparently, there's an email somewhere in my Spam folder. All that time, aggravation and effort by me FOR NO REASON!
P.S. I found a reputable painting company in the tiny local Yellow Pages, had the owner come out to measure and answer questions, received the bid today and have put down a deposit on a bid that is half of what Angi estimated. I will never, ever use Angi or Home Advisor again!

I am not reviewing a particular contractor, but the Angi site in general. When Angie's List first started, it was truly a consumer-oriented service. You plugged in what you were looking for and they gave you a list of local contractors and how they had been reviewed by other locals and neighbors, including how close they stayed to their original estimate. Now, it is a service that serves the contractors. I plug in what I need and they select a few contractors to contact me. They have completely gone in the opposite direction of how they started. I am very disappointed and will have to find other ways of finding a contractor I can trust and whom I have chosen, not who has been chosen for me.

I was willing to look past the confusing sign up process and the website/app that don't really have much functionality because getting my house cleaning scheduled when I wanted it was easy. That is, until it was cancelled less than 1 hour before the "professionals" were supposed to start work. Getting a qualified person here is the whole purpose of Angi and they could not do that. You'll notice in their email response that they don't guarantee much and require 48 hours notice for themselves.

USING THEIR FIXED PRICE, I THOUGHT IT WAS A GOOD WAY TO GET SERVICES WITHOUT MAKING APPOITMENTS WITH MULTIPLE CONTRACTORS. BUT IT HAS BEEN A NIGHTMARE. I HAD CONTRACTORS SHOWING UP AT MY DOOR WITHOUT A NOTIFICATION FROM ANGI SENT TO ME. DONT HIRE THESE GUYS. ANGI WILL DENY SENDING THEM, AND ALSO DENY RESPONSIBILITY. ONE STOLE FROM ME, AND WAS NOT HAPPY WITH THE JOB AND REFUSED TO COMPLETE IT. ALSO, THE SECOND ONE I HIRED REFUSED TO COMPLETE THE WORK. TURNS OUT, ANGI KEEPS 60% OF THE QUOTED BILL FOR THEMSELVES. SO, CONTRACTOR WOULD ONLY GET $150. ON A $400.00 JOB. OF COURSE THEY DONT WANT TO DO IT!
I booked for a home cleaning on 6/21 for 6/23 … the person never showed up! Kept declining my call and then replied I canceled when I reiterated I did not. They said they would still come. Called customer service they were of no help couldn't even contact contractor! I was completely inconvenienced. Then I was told I could reschedule but next available date is 6/25! Just ridiculous! How you book a service 48 hrs in advance! And the person doesn't show and can't provide a replacement! Just useless and disappointing DO NOT USE THIS PLATFORM FALSE ADVERTISING!

I have been, until recently, a long-time advertiser of what was Angie's List. I have had nothing but 5 star reviews and would hope that I would be the kind of advertiser they would be happy to have. Their customer service has always been mediocre at best, but it has gotten completely horrible - I wait a week or more to get any kind of response to a question from my "Client Success Manager", if I ever hear from him at all. I finally got fed up and cancelled my current contract, paying a steep penalty, but they are continuing to charge my credit card. And guess who is the only person I can contact about this - my "Client Success Manager" who never returns any messages, including about these charges. Beyond frustrating - never advertise with them and save yourself the frustration!

Answer: You'll have to contact the website directly. They don't monitor the Sitejabber website. Try to see if you can get them to delete your profile. If not, I would contact the Better Business Bureau or the Attorney General's office or another state law enforcement office in your state. This sounds like fraud to me (but, I'm not a lawyer).
