I have all of the same complaints about Amerisave as the rest of these Reviews. They have fake reviews on 10 best Refi Companies and the BBB in Georgia. I bet they pay a huge amount for fake reviews...
They lock in a rate, then float the rate after you wait for 2 months, string you along for several months. Give you a Good Faith Estimate with low points and every month that they string you along, they add a $1000 or $2000.per month. Before my close the points were over $*******. Plus they washed the additional $4600. I paid off of my original Mtg into the loan and they kept what I had paid off. They have horrible customer service, Send a Henchman to close the deal and try to intimidate you into taking their horrible deal. I mentioned RESPA and got my $500.00 deposit back in no time. I am still turning them in because they are violating RESPA guidelines. I am sending ALL of my Disclosure statements to them and I will also report the BBB after I see their reviews if they are being paid off. I am sick of businesses taking advantage of folks that are trying to get out of debt not into another horrible deal. A concerned citizen!

Horrible company!
March 22, 2021

Getting ahold of anyone at this company can take dozens of calls and emails. Their customer support line just hangs up on you. I've been trying to make my first payment and been on the phone for over 4 hours now! They just hang up on you.

I've sent many emails and made many phone calls. You get no help from them and there is a penalty for making a late payment.

Also, they tacked on an extra $500 onto the mortgage contract without ever telling me. They gave me the numbers before hand and it didnt have that. They even gave me a pdf of the loan before hand to read, and it didnt have that. Then they didnt answer the phone during the signing. I should have walked away right then.

Horrible, rat of a company.

AmeriSave Mortgage is a deceptive company. Friday my wife and I received information from AmeriSave titled "Notice to Home Loan Applicant." The documentation showed our credit scores from the 3 credit reporting agencies. The problem was that we had never heard of AmeriSave and did NOT apply for a Home Loan through AmeriSave (or any one else).
On Monday I called the number on the documentation and reached "Brett" (if that was his real name). He told me he was licensed in AZ. When I explained that we had never applied for a Home Loan and that I was concerned that someone had misappropriated our social security numbers, he kept saying "Well, this is like a menu. No one stole your social security number. This was only a soft pull." He explained that he did not have my social security number. When I asked how was he able to pull our credit scores if he didn't have our social security numbers, he hung up.
Again, we never applied to AmeriSave for a home loan and we certainly did not authorize Brett to use our social security numbers to pull a credit report, soft or otherwise.
BEWARE of this company. They are pulling "soft" credit reports without permission apparently as part of a marketing scheme.

They will offer you a better rate than anyone else, charge you a $500 non refundable fee, then ignore your emails for weeks. Once rate goes up, they will tell you that you need to pay them $10,000 for them to honor the rate they initially offered. None of their initial disclosures are binding so they can do this scam in total impunity. I hope my loss is your gain, and that you will select a real mortgage company for your refinance needs.

STAY AWAY!
March 19, 2021

Our experience seems to be very similar to a majority of the most recent reviews. Started the process on December 3rd and still don't have a close date. They kept delaying on information that had already been provided several times. I also caught them in a lie during the process. We have solar panels and needed a subordination from our lender. Amerisave was telling us that the main reason for our delay was waiting for the lender to return the subordination. I decided to call and found out that Amerisave never submitted the subordination and it would take another 25-30 to process once submitted. This is just the tip of the iceberg regarding there processing. I have done several refi's in the past and I've also worked in the mortgage industry so I know a little about the process. I know they have great ratings but it seems that lately they seem to be spiraling downward in their customer service. So just a heads up I would look at another lender and STAY AWAY FROM AMERISAVE!

Just awful
March 18, 2021

Dealing with this company was an absolute nightmare. Over a ridiculous span of 5 1/2 months, they asked repeatedly for the same documents, were unresponsive to the majority of my emails, told me multiple times everything was on track, only to back pedal. In the end they FORMALLY APPROVED MY LOAN and scheduled closing... then BAILED a few days beforehand.

At first I gave them slack due to the pandemic, but three of my friends refinanced with other companies within a month without all the aggravation and ineptitude. It was the unprofessionalism that really got me, such as when one of the reps sent an insulting email to my employer, and when a different rep kept harassing my HO insurance agent for a document she had already submitted, to the point I had to intervene and call a supervisor. I wasted countless hours of my life with this company and strongly caution others from applying with them. They may have once been a legit company, but that is no longer the case. Be sure to check out all the complaints on the Better Business Bureau website.

BAIT AND SWITCH SCAM
March 18, 2021

I really wish that there was more truth online. If I had only seen these reviews instead of the "paid and faulty reviews". That Amerisave controls and wants you to see. This company is a complete scam. They also own the Appraisal company NOVO. BUYER BEWARE. They will have their own appraisal company do the report, claim that it will be done by a third party unaffiliated appraisal company. THIS IS A LIE.
Then they will try to jack up your rate, closing costs etc. It doesn't matter if you have excellent credit, a great job, whatever! They will try and SCAM you! We lost over $1,000 just trying to apply and then pulled out when we realized how terrible this company was. WALK THE OTHER WAY PLEASE.

Run!
March 16, 2021

This company is terrible. Started application process when rates were well under 3%. Promised good rates and got strung along for two months. Rates are well above 3% now. Still after practically begging for them to lock my rate they never did even though most companies can lock your rate same day of application. I wouldn't hear from loan officer for weeks. I would call her and there was always an excuse. Always a family emergency. I wish I saw the 100 plus bad reviews before I committed to using them. Don't make the same mistake I did. Run! The lame automated response to this review is indicative of their customer service.

We started a simple refi process 6 months ago, what should have simple, turned into a nightmare. Throughout the entire process, I had to call multiple people to get them to do their job, and still it took this long. The worst part, was that rate and terms provided were changes in the last moment. Though I was told my rate will be locked, they did not do it, and when they are ready to close, they changes the rate, from a loan credit to 2.5 points. There was no communication of this at any time and they refuse to do anything about it. So after 6 months, i am starting the process over again, NOT with AmeriSave and never will deal with them again, and I urge everyone to avoid this scam!

Hyme & Mattie,

We have not heard from you and we are just about ready to pull the plug on Amerisave, cut our SIGNIFICANT losses, and move on. The thought of this dragging on any longer is deeply upsetting to us.

To review, we have a large amount of money tied up in our checking account that is doing nothing, and that we have been directed by you to keep locked up there; we have the IRS chasing me now for the lien amount (which was completely dormant until we "unfroze it" to suit Amerisave); our valued-vendors (plumbers, electricians, carpenters, HVAC technicians) are ready to write us off as a bad joke and untrustworthy; we now owe our hard-money lender, Jeff Garvin, an additional $2500 to renew our loan for a second year, thanks to Amerisave's incredibly protracted "approval process"…in short, Amerisave has been a disaster for us, both emotionally and financially.

Can you think of one credible reason why we should not quit right now, and find another lender? Please let us know today: if you can not guarantee us an approved loan by the end of the day on Friday, we will pull the plug and take it up again on Monday with some other lender. We are now well into our fifth month of this process.

Both Janie and I have had mortgage loans and refinances approved in the past, and we have seen NOTHING, and I do mean NOTHING, like this.

We will, of course, in that case, need our $500 deposit, or whatever it was, back from Amerisave, so we can put it to some useful purpose.

With deep regret for our choice of Amerisave,

Sincerely,

Steven Salemi & Jane Ruge

Let me share my experience with you. In the beginning the loan originator was great until I paid the $500 fee. After paying this fee, her attitude changed. She has shared with me that I wasn't an important client and she other clients so, keeping me up-to-date. I need to open my chart daily and read it. They have pulled 4 credit reports and still not closed. They have added points and keep redoing the numbers and interest rate to increase the amount. This has upset me so much and I have cried over it! Now, my score has dropped 20 points due to Amerisave. In the begiining of purchasing my house the previous company was never like this even when I refinanced with them the 01st time. Never all of this paperwork. Unhappy totally with Amerisave and there representatives.

If you want to waste your time deal with amerisave. Attempted to refinance here in Vegas. The loan officer asked me to send them documentation which I sent, then he asked me to send it again, and again, and again. What a complete waste of my time. I would not recommend amerisave to anyone.

Wasted over 3 months with Amerisave on a home refinance. I have excellent credit and have owned my home since 2003. The loan amount was about 25% of the home's value. Despite multiple documents sent and re-sent since November 2020, no closing in sight as of end of Feb.

Update: I was eventually offered a loan with Amerisave - below is actual transcript of emails i received from the loan agent and his manager:
Mar 2,3:30 pm - from the loan agent to his manager at Amerisave " Hey cy this one is ready to lock and I really have no idea how to approach this one since she is already an escalation case and the difference in rate is just so high.
Original pricing at float was 2.625% with $208 in lender credits.
Pricing today is the same rate with $12,920 in discount points"

From: - AmeriSave <*******@amerisave.com> (manager)
Date: March 5,2021 at 7:22:08 AM PST
Subject: RE:
"we went to lock this in this morning for you and market has had another correction. Do you want me to lock this in at 3.125 with 6k off for you?" ($6k off the $12,920)

A 2.625% loan with $208 in lender credit was offered, but 4 months later a 3.125% loan with $7000 in cost was to be delivered (maybe -who knows? - tomorrow they may offer 3.5 or 4%)!
I declined their loan and applying now with Logix.

AVOID
February 25, 2021

What a clown show! I had a straight forward re-fi with a LTV ratio of 28% and more than adequate income from a job Ive been at 16 years. They would have made 600k if I had defaulted. The originator left the job- leaving me with an idiotic processor that requested the same documents over and over again. Then had the audacity to ask me for my employers tax returns. I kid you not. Needless to say- Im three months in and am losing my much lower rate. Avoid this clown car at all costs.

Rude brokers
February 25, 2021

I'd just add to the general negative comments to say one of AmeriSave's brokers cold called me weeks after I'd been looking into a refi with other lenders, and when I said I wasn't interested, he snorted, laughed and hung up. Name was Jeremy or Jeremiah or similar. Real clown. Don't do business with people who have contempt for potential customers the instant they don't think there's money to be made.

Awhile back I posted a negative review of Amerisave. They had not paid my county taxes at the time and I had spoken with someone that was less than helpful regarding this. The issue has since been resolved and they agreed to pay the late fees. Also in hindsight while there were other things that didn't please me, I can understand that all mtg companies are swamped at this time and I'll attribute the delays etc. to that fact. All things considered, even with basically only social security income to qualify me, they did get the job done and I got better rate. You'll be OK choosing Amerisave.

Do not use
February 17, 2021

Patrick Markert - CEO / Owner
Today I got an email from my loan processor stating that my loan was declined because of debt to income ratio...? This has never been an issue so very unclear as why underwriters would deny us unless they were not provided the appropriate documentation.

Started application on or about Oct. 19th. According to the loan officer this process normally takes 8-12 weeks. Mely response as it related to the on-going delay. Only have seven loan numbers and was told that computer issues were attributed to a delay...

We signed loan disclosures about 8 weeks ago and recently signed our second set of disclosures after unfreezing our credit for the second time because of of your delays,

BOTH time they spelled Diane's name Dianne... they have all our documentation with the name being spelled as Diane.

I cannot begin to express my anger and disgust given the amount of time and energy I expended getting all the documents sent in a timely fashion only to get this recent rejection.

Other loan numbers,,, *******, *******, *******, *******, *******

Again, I can only think this was a bank error and not researched prior to being declined.

Please refund my $ 500.00 application fee as your company has continually botched this re-re-fi application. I will be seeking other remedies and plan to file a complaint with the Consumer Complaint office and others.

Paul and Diane McGuinnes
