A friend told me about AmericanVin as an alternative to Carfax. I ran a report on a motorcycle I was going to purchase to verify it didn't have any issues. I got the report immediately for $19 and it definitely helped me make up my mind. Well worth the small fee.
Great service and inexpensive. I paid $20 for a VIN report and it came back clean. I had no issues receiving it - came immediately. I would recommend Americanvin,
Thank goodness I got a report from AmericanVin. I almost bought a lemon! The car had been in a flood. Wow! Only $20 and saved my butt! Thanks.
I am selling my car. I bought a vehicle history report to add on to my listing. It was cheap and came quickly. No issues here!
I got a report from AmericanVin before I bought a car. Thank goodness I did! It had been in an accident! I moved on to another vehicle instead. Thanks AmericanVin! Saved me a lot of headache!
Paid in $19 for a VIN report. Came instant in my email. The interface was easy to maneuver. I would definitely use this service again.
This is the spam sent to me:
Hello, I was reaching out to you about your vehicle for sale. Do you have a current vehicle history report for it? If not, I suggest getting one at:
www.VinCheckPass. Com
When I was selling my car I got one from there to show people that were interested. It was only $19 which is half the cost of Carfax($40 or more). It will show if there are any issues with it. The peace of mind it gives for such a large sale is a bonus too.
It will verify that it has not been in any bad accidents, that it has a clean title and that it has not been stolen. There are so many scams out there. People are more likely to look at a vehicle with a report provided.
Talk to you soon. Thanks!
A friend of mine suggested using AmericanVin for the car I was selling. The report was quick and cheap! No issues on the car, but I knew that already. Good to see it in writing!
Selling my vehicle. I was able to get an accurate VIN report from AmericanVin for only $20. It was a really good deal. It showed no issues with my car. I added it to my listing for sale. Fingers crossed that it sells quickly!
I was buying a used car by a private party. They said it had not been in an accident. I ran a VIN check with AmericanVin for only $20. It HAD been in an accident! Saved me from a headache. Thanks.
I was happy with the report. It was inexpensive and came immediately. There was an accident reported that I did not know about, which was surprising. Glad I got the report!
Hi Kim G. Same thing just happened to me however, he used the name, *******@gmail.com. And the message was the same, word for word. Sure appreciate you sharing. People can look up Vin #'s for free anyway. Thanks again.

I received a very accurate VIN report. Best thing is that it came instantly. Only $20. No complaints here!
To echo Kevin K's "Dishonest marketing strategies" & PP's "unscrupulous practice" reviews, I went through the same thing. If they need to trick people into getting the report, I don't trust them and would rather pay the 40$ to carfax. Got my email from "*******@gmail.com" The first one said, " Trying to get in touch with you regarding your vehicle for sale, but I have not heard from you.
Please message me direct at my personal email to discuss -
KenTrip75(at/Gmail/dot/c0m)
Thanks." Making me think I had a potential buyer. I responded with an apology as sometimes emails get misfiled and my phone number. The second, more detailed email after the come one said this, "

Is VinCheck not as good as Carfax?. Since this feels like tricking me into using the service, I'd rather pay double to Carfax who doesn't feel the need to trick people. Shame on you."
I added an americanvin report to my for sale listing online for my car. People told me they really appreciated that aspect. I think it helped me sell it quicker to be honest. Best $20 investment I've ever made.
I was about to buy a car on Craigslist. I purchased a VIN report from Americanvin. Thank God I did! It had been flooded! Saved me from buying a lemon! Well worth the $20.
I had great results from the VIN check. It came back fast and was inexpensive.
Here is something I found online if you are looking to buy/sell a used car:
How much is Used Car Really Worth?
To determine the worth of a used car, it all depends on which used car is been valued. There are various factors which are considered when determining the worth of a used car.
Condition - The present situation of the car is essential when determining the worth of a used car.In order to determine condition of the vehicle focus on three main points:
Exterior: Paint and body, minor scratches, dents, paint flaws or rusts. Also, windshield glass, lights, lenses, and wheels.
Interior: Upholstery and carpet, electronics (windows, radio, NAV, etc.)
Mechanical: Engine, transmission, steering, brakes, tires, suspension.
Make as well as Model of the car - There are more interest and demand for specific models and makes over others. Chevrolet tops the list of most-available brands in the U.S. (with about 450,000 available), followed by Ford (425,000). There are "only" about 280,000 Toyotas on the market at any given time.
Mileage - Another thing to check out is how much mileage has been driven on the car. Certainly, cars with lower mileage will surely bring a greater selling price compared to if the car has been driven a lot and already has high mileage. Consumers lose as much as $4 billion a year due to odometer fraud, with the average rollback being over 15,000 miles.
Season - Based on which type of the vehicle, is possible to get more money depending on the season. For example between July and October larger dealers typically lower vehicle prices to attract off-season buyers.
Vehicle History - In the event that the car has had previous damage from a major accident or weather related mishap such as hail, it will definitely decrease how much the car is worth. For example, let's say you found two cars of the same year, make, model, equipment and have similar miles, but one has damage reported on the Vehicle History Reports while the other does not. You would expect to pay less for the one with the damage and because buyers expect to pay less for that car. Also if you are going to trade in your vehicle towards the purchase of a newer car the Dealer typically will offer anywhere from 10-30 percent less for your trade.
They comb Craigslist under the name of "Jim Kern *******@gmail.com" and say they want to get in touch about the vehicle you have for sale on craigslist. Once you reply they point you to www.VinCheckPass.com which forwards to AmericanVin. So dishonest. If you do a whois and conduct some research on this company you should quickly make the determination not to do business with them.

Really happy with the results. I was buying a car and I almost got stuck with a lemon! It had been in a few accidents. $20 saved me thousands!
Answer: Yes! I was scammed the first time, the report had barely any information on it and the person who made the appointment never showed up. They pretend to be interested in your car, once you buy it, they disappear. They also don't sound like they're really interested, they ask a bunch of questions first, then suggest you buy it and give you a hard sell. This is totally a scam. I have a worthless report and someone else just tried to get to buy it again. Go with Carfax. This isn't legit.
Answer: Yes paid 19.99 plus they charge. 60 cents international charge. And they sent email
