Think twice about dealing with Amazon as they will charge you with unauthorized shipping charges and they do not make it easy to advise them of the issues. I was quite taken aback when in one instance I was advised that Prime applied to both US and Canada and then advised differently. I just now noticed that they had charged me without my consent, I have not had a response yet. Unfortunately I dealt a lot with them in the past but if it is not shipped by them using Prime or by another supplier it takes a back seat. So If you want to pay $100 for Prime for shipping only it is not to your advantage.
I have been shopping on Amazon.ca for a few years now. I have had a few items arrive well past the arrival date, or not arrive at all, but as that is a shipping problem (Canada Post), and not an Amazon problem, I won't give them bad reviews for that. There are definitely items that are ridiculously overpriced, but there are items all over the place that are ridiculously overpriced and it's really up to the consumer to be price aware, so I won't give them bad reviews for that either. Their customer service is why I only give them 4 stars. They have always helped me 100% with my issues, although sometimes it's been quite the journey getting there (hence 4 stars instead of 5). I have only had one person not seem to understand my question at all, and after trying to reword it approximately 8 times, I gave up, Xed the window away, brought up the window again (with a different customer rep), asked my question again, and immediately got the answer. I have always been refunded my money for products that didn't arrive and always faster than I expect, which I think is AWESOME of Amazon because it's not even their fault but Canada Post's crappy service. One time, an item quit working 2 weeks after I got it so they immediately sent me another. As it was a filter for my aquarium I told them my fish would likely be dead by the time the replacement arrived, so they priority shipped it (at no expense to me) and it was in my tank 2 days later (they didn't even wait to receive my returned filter). I wanted to change an order once because one of the items was holding it up, and even though it wasn't standard procedure, we figured out how I could do that, and my new order was in the mail the next day. I find their customer service people are always willing and eager to help, even if they don't help at all, lol. They're never rude or ignorant, and that, to me, is definitely worth something! :D
LIke another customer said. Is good until you have a problem and then amazon.ca doesn't go one inch for you, the customer.
They just dont care.
Amazon.ca is a fantastic retailer. Sometimes things take a month or more to get to you but that is because you are going through an oversees supplier -- Not amazon's fault at all. I received a damaged poster on one occasion. I took a picture of it it and they paid for return shipping and i received a brand new one two days later! 90% of items will come within two or three business days even without Prime membership. Like everything if you find a smoking deal you're going to need to pay somehow. Whether that be shipping time or quality of product. THINGS COST WHAT THEY COST!
I'm placing a lot of orders through Amazon, but I have realized over time that once you have issues they can't care less and they will respond to you via their usual garbage generic emails. If you call and talk to supervisors, 99% of the time it's worse! They have issues where your purchase items not knowing that you can't return them as actually it even clearly states on the product page "satisfaction guaranty or returns made easy" but when you want to return the products, bingo. You can't. When you call them, write them and show them their website, their response is quite surprising... You can't return the products even though it states everywhere you can... They never help or never try to help, they simply pretend to help by responding quickly with generic emails that are not helping at all... If you insist, they block you and no longer let you request help for that order in question!. Or they will charge you taxes on some food items that should be exempted ( the same food in different sizes have different tax rules!) and when you notify them that this is illegal, their response is that you are wrong and that they are right! Lovely,
Or if you take the 1 day shipping guaranty. The 1 guaranty in downtown Montreal is just useless as intelcom rarely delivers on time; as per my experience it fails most of time... and when a week after you inquire, they ask you to wait more. Adding insult to the injury!
This is the most frustrating experience I had with a merchant. I can't believe how bad they became lately because they were much better in the past!
I made an error in my order and the account was locked. After faxing, emailing, and speaking to customer service, they still were not helpful. When I complained to a supervisor, he was worse! Would not use this company again. They don't even have access to their own "account specialists"
Amazon Canada is flogging third party sellers (like UMOZZ.ca) who take your money and never deliver the product. One shipping excuse after another.
Is Amazon Canada helpful. No way, its you and the 3rd party seller. Good Luck sucker!
Amazon is a joke. I bought a gift card because I do not have a credit card. Then while checking out, I was informed that I needed a credit card on file as well. I do not have one. I then tried to sell the card to someone else only to find out that this card is locked to my account forever. I called customer service quite a few times and they basically told me "tough $#*!, it's non refundable". What a joke! If I could give it negative stars I would. Just use eBay they have the same stuff for less money.
I'm shocked that Amazon has such low ratings! I've had nothing but good experiences with Amazon. I order a lot of stuff because of the great prices and I love the "Prime" free shipping. Amazon's service is second to none, and the shipping is always fast. Out of all the online shopping sites, I feel the safest ordering from Amazon. I've always gotten refunds instantly, and they even refunded me for a purchase I made from a seller through their website.
Had Prime all through 2016 and have used Amazon for years with zero complaints. Renewed my Prime and now find that the former free 2 day delivery service is garbage. They use Canada post and it takes 3-6 days. Canceled Prime and will no longer be doing business with them.
Amazon has good selection of variety of products but only if you know exactly what you are buying. If you don't know that then you will never hear any bad reviews about any of their products for a simple reason that amazon.ca filters those reviews by themselves and ban all the bad ones. Just check it for yourself and notice that there is hardly any 2 stars and lower reviews on any of their products. They just banned 2 of my reviews because some of their products came to me from China and I cannot get a full refund. To send product to China costs more than the product itself. Money is lost. $550 bucks. Bad business
Before you buy be very careful. If the seller sends you clothes that don't fit, you can't send them back because that is not covered in their A to Z guaranteed return policy. I recently was caught in that trap. Why shop at Amazon? I am not anymore. Why would I? I am out the money and the postage. Very upset with this horrible customer service. But that's ok. There are many options out there.
I've never had a problem with Amazon.ca itself, but I've had problem with 2 retailers that sell through Amazon, with getting the items very late. As long as I've dealt with Amazon by itself, I've always gotten my items on time and never damaged. I always make sure to check that Amazon is the one selling me the items and/or check the retailers reputation before buying a item. Amazon.ca has also been amazing with books. Samsung has partnered with Amazon and you get one free book through their Kindle app, which I really enjoy.
They changed me $89.27 for prime meme ship even though I cancelled after bring a member by mistake. I spent my time and money to call to Cadadian service centre in U.S. Horrible company!
SaskatchewanI was shopping for a agm oddesy 12 volt battery, amazon retails the 680 oddesy for 390. To 420.00. This battery sell for 199.99 from Saskatchewan battery. Amazon is a total rip off. Tried to put megative feed back but amazon does not let u. Rip off rip off.
What does it tell you when they don't let you make negative reviews. My shipments have been delayed and even lost recently. That's not what I'm paying for.
I ordered a canopy replacement for an 8'x8' Gazebo. It said it would be deliverded June 19,2017 then it said it was delivered June 13th. But it was not delivered to me.
It was delivered to what might be a bogus address, Walnutport PA US. I live in Newcastle On. Canada. I can not get any help from Amazon Ca and they have my money. I can't get any answere to my problem and I can't contact the seller. I think the seller is a scammer.
I have been an Amazon member since 2009 and enjoy the shopping convenience from home and their decent guarantee. What I don't like is their delay in shipping when you find a smokin deal. It does not happen all the time but I find approx. 50% of the time when I have found a really great deal I can wait weeks to months to receive the item. Sometimes the item never comes and you have to request a refund. I have put in multiple claims (all of which have been reimbursed) for items that never arrived. Is it just me or have others had similar issues?
Ordered a sump cover said it would be delivered june 7/17 to june 14/17 ship latest on june 12/17 nothing sent called several times they don't know where it is or when it will ship! Thanks AMAZON Canada for wasting 3 weeks of my time! I have ordered thousands of dollars worth of merchandise no more also I was a prime member not no more cancelling that as well! Take a hike! Customer service sucks!
I have been an Amazon lover. I've purchased many items in the past two years. In fact, it has been my go-to place for most non-food items. I niaively assumed I'd get the best price there. WRONG!
I heard about a great bbq brush. I checked it on Amazon.ca. It is $62. I then checked it on the US Amazon.com. - $16.95. I naturally assumed the Canadian price was a mistake. NOPE. The Amazon rep explained that sellers can ask any price they want for an item. Amazon has no interest in price setting or over site. The bbq brush was provided by different sellers in the US and Canada. UNBELIEVEABLE!
So now I need to carefully price check every item I'm considering buying from Amazon.
