I can't tell you how many "guaranteed delivery by XX date" purchases I've made for the items to show up weeks after the guaranteed delivery date which is largely what customers will base their purchases around especially around the holidays. Why promise something you can never deliver on it seems? Furthermore the amount of "wish" cheap knockoffs being passed off as the original thing is astonishing. Its a gamble every time you buy something now! ALSO if you have to return something, even if you pay for a prime membership you still have to pay for return shipping and you only have a very specific window to do it in. There's no buyers protection especially if you're gambling with receiving the correct / proper item and not a cheap knock off thats falsely advertised

I've used them alot in the past. I recently got off a chat with 1 of their reps. They DO NOT support Canadian Business. Their Chat agents are in India and have very little grasp on the English language. Going through all my past orders, I have found charges for various amounts stating they are for Prime Membership, but my Prime Membership comes out on the same day every month, these charges are on days that are not normal with no items purchased. Contacting them they have no clue and refuse to refund the charges. I have removed my CC from my account. I am currently waiting on a package that is supposed to arrive by Friday, Shipped from Montreal to Calgary, missing me completely in Manitoba. I don't see it getting here before Christmas now.

Worse and worse delivery services, tracking does not work and delivery is always made 2-3 days after the date when the package should arrive.
This is the classic message every time you try to see an update on your package tracking:
We're very sorry your delivery is late. Most late packages arrive in a day. If you have not received your package by 14 December, you can come back here the next day for a refund.

Laughable Site
December 11, 2021

Like most things dot CA they pale in comparison to effective, efficient and well oiled sites like a dot COM. Canada produces passive laziness everywhere and Amazon.ca exemplifies that to the fullest. Tell me how a Prime Membership results in receiving products in 7 days MINIMUM time? Useless lazy Canadian policies.

Horrible Experience
December 10, 2021

I have been a loyal Amazon member for a long time, recently everything has gone downhill. My last order with a guaranteed delivery was split up and multiple packages arrived late, one went missing and never came at all. It was awful having to have my neighbours watch for packages not knowing if they would arrive or not as I was out of town. I was refunded for the missing package but that was not the point. Amazon doesn't care about the inconvenience they cause. I figured this was a one-off experience and let it go BIG MISTAKE. I recently purchased two cans of primer as we are doing minor renovations, it arrives as scheduled however, once I opened the box there was wet sticky primer everywhere, all over the cans, inside the plastic. I immediately took photos and contacted support and again, here is a refund we are sorry. I am canceling my prime and will no longer deal with Amazon, I would rather purchase my items in person without the hassle of wondering if they will show up or, what condition they will show up in. I don't want a refund thrown in my face, I want the product I paid for! Shame on you Amazon.

I purchased a used record player on my Prime membership. The day it's supposed to be delivered, I don't receive any notification so I check my account & it says the item was undeliverable & I will get a refund. Excuse me? I wanted my purchase. I go online & see there are no more used ones available, so I call customer service & ask why my purchase didn't arrive. They can't give me an answer, but it's not possible to get it. Ok, so what can you do for me? I would like this record player at the price I paid for it. So, eventually they give me a discount for a brand new one. I order it. It arrives a week later (not the 2 days promised). I open it, it has got all kinds of packaging, the table seems a bit loose but I set it up. The power is connecting, red light goes on. The disc doesn't turn. It's defective. Everything indicates that the item was already defective when it was sent to me. I call back regarding the defective product & I'm told to contact the manufacturer & in a couple days we will call you back to see if there's a replacement available for you. I look online & they have the same item in different colours, no attempt made to exchange. The manufacturer responds to me: they have an agreement with Amazon that I can return the item to Amazon but to let them know it's defective & not to resell it to someone else (so they have just been reselling defective merchandise!). I call back & ask why they can't just exchange me for the ones in stock that are just a different colour, is there something wrong with them too? "No, we just can't". Nothing! How about a comparable brand? " No, it's against our policy". I've now talked with 4 different customer service reps over this & I'm so dissappointed! I'm canceling my Prime account & even though I have come to depend on Amazon, I will be leaving Amazon to purchase at small businesses who will appreciate me as a customer. I don't mind paying a bit more for better quality customer service.

Amazon.ca has some really good customer service, but only when it's the automated kind. The actual people you talk to, have little to no understanding about how to properly conduct themselves during a customer service inquiry. Refusing to observe their policy, correct their own screw ups, an almost outright flippant responses like "NO", to a simple question. My inquiry was simple. It was about an exchange that I was supposed to receive, but was horrendously delayed. Their policy indicates that an exchanged item of this type will be shipped with the same shipping speed the original item was ordered with. In my case it was one-day shipping, but the item itself was being erroneously shipped with "standard shipping" which was going to take around 10-14 days. You see my initial problem? Well guess what, the customer service agent... didn't.

It didn't help that the item in question was out of stock to begin with. I understand that it's close to Christmas time, but it's not like the season sneaks up on you. It happens the same time every year, and reasonable companies actually prepare themselves for it. It's almost like Amazon is driving a car and they are headed towards a tree, but yet they act surprised when they slam into it. All like "where did that tree come from?! It came out of nowhere"... brainless imbeciles... but anyways. Fine, it's out of stock, will they at least adhere to their policy and change the shipping to one-day shipping like their own rules indicate? Nope. They just got flippant with me instead, like how dare I expect them to follow their own damn rules lol! They wouldn't even allow for an upgrade to an extremely similar item they already had in stock, didn't matter if it was a lower price. If it was a higher price I would have paid the difference. A lot of companies I've dealt with do offer upgrades like this, but apparently not Amazon. The supervisor was also useless, just copy and pasted scripted responses without actually dealing with my concern.

So I guess I'll have to suffer due to Amazon's flagrant incompetence. Gonna have to wait the full 3-4 weeks for an exchange when I should have been waiting only 1 day. Unbelievably trash customer service. The Amazon automated customer service, once again, is better than the actual human customer service agents. Let that sink in. Remember the days when you wanted to speak to a human? Not with Amazon, never with Amazon.

Prime for cheap labour
December 4, 2021

Would help a lot if you delivered by canada post instead small businesses that have a huge rotation of employees and never know where we are located because we have a difficult address to find out, those companies choose the worst of the worst employees from agencies that pay peanuts to this cheap labour. This is what we get from prime, as they don't want to use canada post at all. We'll encourage somebody else, you don't seem to understand anything. We can find your stuff virtually everywhere anyways, wal-mart style cheap crap from china... nothing else to add.

I moved to Canada in August and right after the first purchase on Amazon Canada my account was put on hold due to fraudulent activity, though I used the same credentials and the card for my US Amazon account with no problems. After hours and hours spent on the phone with support, trying to explain them that US Wells Fargo does not provide the billing statements for debit cards, only for accounts, and I would need to go to the branch in order to get some kind of a custom statement for my debit card, and there are no Wells Fargo branches in Canada. And that I am ok with just closing the account if they can't recover it…they just told me that if I can't verify the card with a billing statement, I can simply stop using Amazon services The customer service representatives are useless, powerless and not willing to help.

Worst Customer Service
November 8, 2021

Closed our account. Only to reopen it a year later. Nothing has improved with Amazon. Ordered a TV online somehow the courier got the wrong address. Amazon blames us, but yet we received another order placed on Amazon today using the same address we signed up for. Telecom was given an incorrect address. How is it our fault? Seriously going to cancel the account again once the membership expires.

To Amazon.ca

I'm rethinking purchasing any more purchases from Amazon. Why do you ask? The products I order are fine but the delivery to my home is unacceptable. I have to chase down my orders as the drivers don't seem to have a grasp on getting the items to the correct address. If I didn't have an honest person to where they were delivered to, then it would cost you more to keep replacing what I don't get. This is extremely frustrating and unnecessary. I don't need added stress to my life, there's enough of that going around, with this pandemic that seems to never go away. Drivers need to know how to read and get items to the right homes. I finally decided to do something about this and let you know that you're on notice for any future orders. On your order page, you may want to include a place for customers to give directions, as your driver's don; t seem to have a clue, even when my last name is on a big board next to our number at our home. The drivers should be docked for every time they don't deliver to the right place, and put the stress on them, not your customer. I'm off my rant and will try ordering one more time and if you don't value your customers, then we won't be doing any more business. It would be appreciated if I received a return post explaining how you're going to fix this.

Lost shipments
October 13, 2021

Have had three prior lost shipments this year and I don't order online often. I placed an order recently and the shipment was lost and it was a one-day delivery. I contacted Amazon and they reordered the shipment at no charge and I told the gentleman how I keep getting lost shipments and do we have the same driver for our area and he just said he would place the order again at no charge and would make notes so that this wouldn't happen again and same thing happened again one day delivery but I never received the shipment and I contacted them and of course they said it was lost a second time so the gentleman said he would redo the order a third time at no charge and would escalate it and make notes about what was going on. He told me that I could click on the link he sent me to view my new order so I ended my conversation with him and clicked on the link and there was no order. I contacted them again and the new rep said she was unable to make a new order and would just refund me. I asked her if the problem was there was no stock and all she could tell me was she could not replace the order and didn't answer my question and just offered refund. So I've had three prior lost shipments and now this one was lost twice as well and for whatever reason this rep told me she could not redo the order even though the person before her did redo the order and she did not tell me why she could not redo the order when I asked

BNI couriers
October 2, 2021

Amazon continues to use BNI for deliveries in BC and every time package is late or missing. Last package was left in open hallway of the mall office which was closed for the day, so any passer by could have picked it up.
Not once have they ever delivered to my location even though the unit number is clearly marked on the label. I have complained before but they still use BNI, even when i have asked to use a different courier. Minus 5 stars

Very good
September 26, 2021

amazon.ca is a very good place to buy stuff. They have almost everything at a great price usually. I had a few issues and they take returns for free when theres an issue most of the time. I dont see why it has only 2 stars review rating here. It deserve better. For sure its not perfect like any store. You can have some issues from time to time but it is mostly because of the sellers who send bad items or because of shipping. You have to remember that amazon sellers are from everywhere. Its not only amazon themself. Overall i would recommend shopping on amazon.ca

I've given this company more than their fair share of chances to get things right but it seems impossible. They mess up every order and delivery like it's on purpose and hire Intelcom, the worst delivery company possible to delivery for them. I'd rather take my chances at Walmart and thats not saying much. I refuse to give this incompetent company another penny so I have stopped shopping there altogether and advise others to do the same.
