Books were as described or better. Price was reasonable. I had the issue that extra book was sent which i did not order. Copy of used book which i ordered and same book (new) which i did not order. Now i have extra book which i did not order, paid for it, and do not know where to return it. I did send an email to the sender without any reply.
Easy to find books, Good price. Site closed unexpectedly once and had to redo it.
It was difficult for me to discover what was improper with my order, which was using the state code rather than the entire word of the state. I might have found it quicker if the instruction was written in a bright red format.
Found the textbook I needed to teach my class this semester (yes professors have to buy books too sometimes.) Arrived in great time and exactly as described.

The order was for a softcover book. A hardcover book was received instead. Customer Service did not initially answer if an exchange for the softcopy was available and only proposed a book return. After another inquiry Customer Service stated only a return was possible and that expedited shipping charges would not be covered by Alibris. There was not even an apology for the wrong book version that was delivered and the inconvenience caused. Other online booksellers that I had similiar issues with, provided both apologies and compensation for their mistake.
I ordered a Criterion Collection version of Brazil on DVD, with 3 DVDs in an outer case. When it arrived, the outer case was completely shattered, which was very disappointing, as the outer case is one of the main reasons I ordered this set. I have all of the DVDs rubber-banded together now. I reached out to the seller and asked if they would at least partially refund me. To my surprise and delight, they apologized and refunded me totally, telling me to keep the DVDs or donate them rather than return them. They went above and beyond to make it right. The seller was Half-Price Books.
Book selection is wonderful.
Check out is worrisome. You have to input means of payment first before you see the total, or if the free shipping/coupons have been applied. Such method is ripe for abuse.

I used to be a seller with Alibris and was happy to adjust shipping cost if more than one item went to the same address. Also, I never had a problem with a request to change shipping address after receiving an order. I tried and tried to do that with this purchase. It wasn't allowed after purchase!? Luckily the address it did ship to was my daughter, who had recently moved from the shipping address but was able to contact a friend who went to the house and collected it off the porch. Then she had to make the 4 hour trip to pick it up and mail it to me! So luckily, I have till the 30th to have the purchase on hand to present it to the birthday boy. Glad I ordered it a month in advance. There should be a place to insert shipping address as soon as the order is placed and not just assume it will be shipped to last address on list of previous orders.
I shop around to look for books until I find one that matches a decent price point for me and alibris has hit that for me several times. I do kind of wish sellers could provide pictures of their product since they are used and could have either old library stickers or wrinkles on soft covers for very good condition books.
The content of the book is great, but I was surprised that someone had taken notes, and written personal information in the book. If I had known that I would have paid just a few dollars more for a new book. Anticipated the book would be in better condition...
So I have generally been very happy with the services Alibirs gives me.
Yet the message asking me for an evaluation was ambiguous vague.
It asked me about "the order I placed on 10/13."
I placed two orders on that day, though I had to check my account to see what I purchased on 10/13.
It would be simpler for me if you simply identifies the purchase you're referring to.

The condition of the book was better than anticipated. The communication with Alibris outstanding. The book arrived on time. I am exceedinly pleased with the purchase.
I had my old address in the account and they not only changed it in time, but also send me the book to get it many days before expected. By far the best experience with Alibris
