I much prefer the used book sites that show shipping as you look up each book … with this i have to go back and forth to figure how much each nook costs. Is a real pain. So i always chose thrift books first.
Prices of items purchased from Alibris that are eligible for free shipping are still generally favorable but service and shipping and tracking experience via USPS has recently deteriorated.
These comments pertain to a recent prior Alibris order, where shipper sent a book item (one item of a multiple item order) that clearly was defective/damaged prior to shipment and should not have been sent (sign of poor QC and packers (persons?) or automated don't care. This was the first time I have had such a problem with an Alibris order; and dealing with Alibris to get this matter corrected (i.e., return defective item for replacement) has been very difficult and problematic, unlike dealing with a competitor, which amazingly makes the process much easier and faster when such issues arise. Alibris CS is slow and not easy (problem obtaining return label) and via e-mail only, no CS phone line.

Answer: I saw the fake stellar reviews and did not dig deeper. I til... I had an issue. Initially, I wanted to give a small seller some business after COVID and the site looked really good. What a big mistake that was! Shame on this outfit.
