I have been looking for a specific Bible that was out of print and to buy it off eBay the cost is extremely expensive. I thought I'd put my search in Alibris and see if anything came up. I actually forgot all about it. About 6 months later I received an email that they had located the Bible for me. I purchased a practically brand new version at a fraction of the cost you find anywhere else. I was very happy with the entire transaction.

I ordered several other items, along with a book I needed for book club, so that the order would qualify for free shipping. The order for my book was cancelled, and not in order to get a different copy, I have to pay shipping. That bothers me, but not enough to not order the book I need.

I ordered an academic book through Alibris. The price was reasonable, delivery was prompt, and the quality of the book was as expected. In that regard, it was a pleasant and helpful experience.

Sadly, Alibris is like many other online retailers today - they nag repeatedly for reviews. Under the guise of confirming the receipt of my order, they sent multiple emails that require a review in order to confirm receipt of the order. So, here's the overall review: Alibris is a decent source of books, but only if you don't mind being nagged repeatedly until you leave them a review.

I recently received a book about my father's army unit in World War II. The book was in better condition than I expected and seems virtually new. It was well packed and quickly shipped. All in all, a perfect experience.

I have shopped Alibris before and been happy. The only problem was the shipping costs so much more than the books but still a bargain usually.
