Easy to locate the material and clear instructions on checkout process
I've recently made some large orders through Alibris and was thrilled by their (generally) much lower prices for second hand books. However, within the space of two days, two items were cancelled as Alibris apparently no longer had the stock available, and they invited me to repurchase the items... But in both cases, the only copies available were substantially more expensive (almost 5 times more expensive in case, and £25 more expensive in the other). Is this just a way for Alibris or its sellers to price gouge? Hook us in with cheap copies, make them unavailable, and then coerce us into rebuying at a higher rate?
In 18 years at Amazon, such a cancellation has happened maybe twice. So why has it been twice in two days with Alibris? It seems absurd.
