Ive been doing aleks for years, and what do i have to show for it? 20 years off my lifespan due to overencumbering stress, at times aleks leaves me in my room, sobbing uncontrollably from migrane inducing stress, surrounded by broken pencils and at times a flipped over table, (once next to a hole in the wall that i made with my fist) aleks is a COMPLETE waste of time, i need to find the demon that made this site and rip his head off (and i know im not the only one who wants to) ive cursed, ive screamed, ive snapped and flipped out on my teachers and parents, and this site NEEDS TO STOP EXISTING. Extremley simple explanations, bugs, and the worst site to ever be made, makes aleks deserve to burn in eternal Hellfire, and im not the only one who thinks so

Math is easy... Look ill level with you, I have seen math programs that ACTUALLY WORK
Khan academy, IXL, etc... ALEKS DOES NOT FIT IN THAT CATAGORY. I have read the reviews the "bug" that causes a right answer to be wrong; HAPPENS 50% OF THE TIME! Not to mention the?!$/ test system, I am taking the final for my ALEKS math course I failed the first 3 attempts. Plz I JUST WANT OUT OF THIS HELL.

All ALEKS is is a torture site for kids to feel bad about themselves i just heard a student swearing about how bad the site is, a common bug found in ALEKS is you will type an answer ALEKS will say its wrong and then say the exact same answer is the correct one even though it just told you that answer is wrong this site is poison and it is taking over the american continent so enjoy life while you still can and if you already have to do it i am so sorry

One day a young man thought hey my life is $#*! so why dont i just make everybody elses life $#*! so on that god awful day ALEKS the site of $#*! was born and now there is a month for this website it is the national suicide month so anyone who has used aleks either jumps off bridges or slits their throat what ever method it happens and when you look up their history and see aleks over and over you will realize to late it is all a suicide scam!

At the beginning of my 9th grade year, my teacher taught like any other, with daily homework assignments from the book. We had 8 topics of ALEKS each week on top of this which accounted for 10% of our grade. A pair, but doable and reasonable. However, in the second semester he switched entirely over to ALEKS while still teaching the concept in class. Since then I feel as if I have retained no real information. The program required you complete a minimum of three questions per topic, once completed you will never see that topic again, a major issue. The bad explanations which leave you missing questions, therefore often making you complete more than three questions, leave you frustrated and irritated. All this frustration, and you still do not retain any information.

Here's a quick summary of my experience:

Pros: erm. No writing? Nothing can be put here...
Cons: Bad explanation, horrific "testing" (the three+ topics), no topics are ever seen again, difficult to retain (or learn) any true information.

Basically what I'm trying to say is: Do not purchase this. Continue with a proper teacher and homework assignments (as it has been for decades.

My teacher slapped this thing on us as final precalculus project for high school seniors to get to 400 lessons by the end of May. The diagnostic test you're supposed to do without help was cheated on by many, leaving some students with a particularly unfair advantage, while leaving most of my class screwed. As someone how is very honest about my schoolwork, I was very insulted by this and furthermore when I got to 200 lessons this program demanded I take another diagnostic test to continue. I did, and it set me back by 50 lessons. How is anyone supposed to make any progress on a thing that forcefully sets you back? There's 6 hours of my time I won't be getting back. It's like trying to write a paper on a document and once you're done, you find that 10 of your paragraphs are missing despite youre constant saving.
Please, if you are a teacher considering using this program for your class, do not. It will only lead to widespread cheating among students and even the brightest of pupils will fail if you assign it in the form my teacher did to me. And now, 250 lessons to go... as if I didn't have any other AP classes to worry about...

Simply, you do not learn well when you are miserable. There is a lot of little things about this greedy company stealing from students and there sub par learning program I could say but I won't. I will just say that, this program was not intended as a learning module but as a means to make students pay large amounts of non reimbursable money to a business. It is plain to see after using the program that it was not tested for user compatibility, timeliness, or even to see if it was a realistic workload. THIS IS A SCAM, AVOID!

I've been using this program for a few semesters now, and I have to say it is the worst program to be using in a math class. The amount of frustration I have had using this program is unbareable. I would be in front of the computer for hours on end working on ONE type of problem that it would keep marking me wrong for, and I would not make any progress. I thought the knowledge checks were pointless as well. It tests your knowlegde in the middle of a module and then makes you re do as many topics as you were marked wrong for in the knowledge check. This kind of process seems draining and counterproductive as it tacks on more work than what you have to do already. The program does not explain things well, and often times expects you to "figure out" how they got to a certain step in a problem. Overall, I hated the program. Why can't we all just go back to learning math in a standard math class? Since when do we need to start adding all this unnecessary programming into everything we do? If you can avoid this program, PLEASE DO! Hopefully, Ill never be using it again.

I have never had math confidence and ALEKS showed me why. I had things I just never learned properly or I forgot. As I'm reading the comments I think people were looking for a quick fix, I realize I got in this situation because I kept taking a shortcut and not really learning the math. So Aleks knows if you learned it and what you are ready for next. It's not a magic pill, but it's smart and knows me. Because of Aleks I feel confident and I'm getting an A.

Worst online learning site I have ever used. It is extremely time consuming. You must get 3 multi-step questions right on the first try to move on. A wrong answer deducts points. You will want to tear out your hair when have two in a row and get one wrong and lose all your points. Also the program has counted answers wrong for being. 001 off and not writing 10 as 1x10^1. I ended up just memorizing the step-by-step process and completing it 3 times like a mindless sheep to move on quickly. I often fall behind because I do not have the time or patience to complete the assignment, An online computer program should make its users cry and want to throw things at the wall. Save yourself the frustration and use something else.
