There's nothing more satisfying than watching all of the progress you made on a topic slowly erode because you make one mistake. This program has made me nearly punch my wall out of pure rage. If you're a professor and genuinely care for the mental health of your students, avoid this. If you're a student and are seeking an additional study tool, also stay away. ALEKS stylizes itself as a "mastery" tool, when in reality other homework programs do the same thing and do it much better. One time ALEKS locked me out of homework that I needed to complete because it gave me a random knowledge check. ALEKS erodes HOURS of progress with its "knowledge checks" if you make as much as one simple error. This is a horrendous program and it should be avoided as much as possible.

A lot of people just say they hate ALEKS but don't give a reason so I will list the disadvantages of ALEKS:

1)The white blank background in sad and depressing!
2)It's overly complex!
3)There is no sound not even a "YAY!" when you get something right!
4)Almost nothing can be customized!
5)Teachers make kids do it too much!
6)It's hard to learn through all your endless rage!
7)The overall design sucks and is very discouraging!

Here are the advantages:

1)You become dead inside.
2)You get a good weekly ALEKS grade.
3)Through your tears and suffering you learn a little math.

If you can argue with this I would be surprised because I have clear reasons!

Go jump off a ******* foot tall cliff aleks. Go jump into volcano and be burned. Go jump off of mt everest. If possible, I would give -infinity stars. Aleks should die a deadly death. I would be very happy if aleks was slowly murdered with a pencil, eating nails, while being stabbed by a rusty spoon at the same time their teeth was being pulled put with rusty scissors. THIS IS THE WORST WEBSITE EVER CREATED. WHOEVER WANTS TO MAKE A TERRIBLE WEBSITE, GET YOUR TERRIBLE WEBSITE INSIPIRATION FROM ALEKS.com. CONGRATS ALEKS. YOU HAVE CREATED THE INSPIRATION FOR BAD WEBSITES. I HOPE YOU ENJOY YOUR SLOW DEATH WITH A PENCIL, WHILE EATING NAILS, AND BEING STABBED BY A RUSTY SPOON WHEN YOUR TEETH ARE BING PULLED OUT WITH A PAIR OF RUSTY SCISSORS.

Some may think I'm dramatic but alek is probably the most boring thing ever, right ahead of prison alek has made me question my sanatity. If you are a math teacher just dont do it please dont make us do it

If it were possible to give 0 stars, I would. Here is exactly how I described Aleks to my family:
A program called ALEKS that only tells you if you're right or wrong, and if you're wrong you get one more chance to do it right.
It doesn't tell you WHERE or WHAT you've done wrong.
It's like "Oh yeah, that alphabet soup with numbers, exponents, and operation symbols? You figure out where you screwed up."
It's soul rending. You will hurt, you will cry, you will want to die.
My poor calculator has met the floor more than a few times.

Schools: PLEASE USE PAPER AND PENCIL WORKSHEETS!

I didn't learn $#*!. This program made me want to chuck my mac book pro out the $#*!ing window. I also needed counseling after the course, due to all my suicidal thoughts and almost following my computer out the window. I still have nightmares. This is worse than when my sister gave me sugar-free gummy bears. Each week brought on a new horror. To this day (still in the course) I feel my IQ slowly draining out with my tears as I cry about the fact that I paid 125$ for this $#*!. Sometimes I wish I dropped out of college just because of this program. Chick-fil-a might be my carreer. Because it is less traumatizing than this steaming $#*! of program.

I have a life outside of school I can't spend hours and hours on this stupid website. My weekends consist of math math and more math hours and hours and hours. I am over it. Then we you get something wrong you on problems for ever. I have a lot more to say, but you suck who ever invented this system you spend the time doing this stupid math. Way to much crap to learn and really doesn't explain how to solve some of the stupid problems

Literally the most annoying trashy website ever.The main problem is the "knowledge check". You can't skip them. They contain a random assortment of math problems. The point of them is to check your knowledge every once in a while. Seems fair right? No it's not. If you even get one problem wrong, you'll have to do 2-3 topics over again. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I actually miss IXL. The explanations are $#*!, and if you get even one question wrong you will be starting over..

It's me, Squidward Tentacles, back with another angry review for Satan's armpit- I mean ALEKS. Guess what? My teacher has assigned yet another long assignment for me and my classmates to kill ourselves over. This time I got a question correct, but of course, ALEKS counts it as incorrect, and takes off all my points. I nearly split my Chromebook in half because of this. Also I barely understand about 50% of the topics because of the bad explanations, and when I finally understand, ALEKS switches everything up, causing me to screw up. Looking to frustrate your students, teachers? Well ALEKS is the perfect program for you heh.
