I'm a college student, taking Gen Chem which I needed ALEKS for. ALEKS is supposed to gague your intelligence in topics but the only thing it gagued whats how much rope I needed to make a noose. Ask your self, whats more important-Your sanity? Or spending 20 min on a problem to count it wrong because you abbreviated the word "hour" with "hr" instead of "h". THATS RIGHT SAY GOODBYE TO SANITY. I'm having my nurse type this for me since I literally gouged both my eyes out with my pens. I'd rather doggy-scoot 50 miles through shards of broken glass and $#! Then sit in a nice bath of bleach at the end of it than use this terrible program again.
I was beating my $#*! and then my teacher emailed me saying do your aleks you little cheeky $#*!. I said no $#*! eat my fat shlong.
SUCKS SO BAD I did 2 hours of aleks and it deleted all of the 2 hours so my teacher gave me an F- in math. :( So terrible do NOT get aleks, it sucks!
It is just a garbage site overall and does not help teach anything and causes pain I know plenty of the kids in my class are all suffering and I myself would like to nuke the people that work there multiple times. Also, it is a scam of my money and I would rate it -******* out of 10.
Aleks is an annoying piece of shart and nobody likes it. After a few topics it becomes repetitive and garbage. Doing 10 topics a day is still boring. Take it from me who has to do 30 a day. Your kids will hate it. Doing 600 topics of basically the same thing is useless. In total it is utter garbage and I hope it gets shut down. Aleks, If your reading this, MAKE A BETTER SITE FOR F***ING SAKE. > :(
It's boring first of all everyone hates it and it takes so long to finish one thing and no one wants it if you buy this get rid of it
I just finished this useless program for chemistry, and I have to say I wish I had listened to the reviews. I would've rated this zero stars if I could. I have had experiences with online learning from other courses and this is by far the worst teaching method I've had to endure. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone because I know there are other learning methods that are more effective and less costly. If you are considering taking a class at a university where this is required, I'd urge you to transfer your credits from a community college that doesn't use this. This program gives a student unnecessary stress. Instead of understanding the work, they are memorizing the topics which they can't retain for long periods. AVOID this program at all costs. I even wrote a letter to my professor about how horrible this program was made and I hope they spread the word to the department so that they can completely remove it from the curriculum. It's enraging to believe that so many students have to pay for something this useless to advance their education. That being said, there should seriously be a petition to remove this program from schools instead of people just shouting about how much ALEKS sucks. There needs to be a formal way to bring down ALEKS in order for irritated students to be taken seriously, otherwise, they'll call us impatient and lazy. This is how my professor responded to a student when they were criticizing ALEKS. Students should stay calm and collected when writing bad reviews for ALEKS if they want to be heard.
There's no point in using this horrid website, because even then everyone cheats and the explanations are bad.
This site can be helpful for learning however is very frustrating. I'm in geometry and the site glitches all the time when I try to do a proof. Not to mention if you miss one problem it deletes all your progress. It's honestly stupid it needs to be improved and I recommend using a different learning site.
I am in school and no one likes it. At the beginning of every class the teacher tell you to DO ALEKS and just sits it the corner. The explanations on the website don't explain any thing. And you can loose every topic by getting only 1 problem wrong on a knowledge check. No one like it and half my school is failing math because of it
I am an adult with 2 jobs and i have to do this mother $#*!ing bull$#*! for my chemistry class so i can get a college degree at a highly ranked US higher education institution and guess what! I just read my aleks stats, and i've averaged 8.5 hours a week on this, on top of the 40 hours a week i have to work to pay my rent! It's only the end of my first quarter with this "aleks' guy and I have spent 93 HOURS OF MY LIFE ON IT. THAT IS ALMOST 4 DAYS OF MY TWENTIES AND MY WHOLE LIFE. I COULD HAVE BEEN SPENDING TIME WITH MY LOVED ONES AND HERE I AM PAYING! TO TORTURE MYSELF! $#*! you.

After using this site for an entire semester, I can say this is almost completely useless. I take a Trigonometry/Pre-Calc course, and since I am basically self-teaching myself the material despite having a professor, each topic assigned can even take hours to complete. The worst part is it is nearly impossible to fully learn the material by merely completing these topics. My instructor assigns us 30-70 topics a week, so imagine what it's like to use this on a daily basis when you have other classes to worry about as well. ALEKS has caused me multiple mental breakdowns, as well as instances where I've literally fainted from all the stress. If you're an instructor, please for the love of God do not use this. Coming from strict parents who value grades more than anything, you have no idea how many times I've contemplated suicide just because of how incompetent I feel.
Do not use this. It makes me waste so much unneeded time, I don't get why they made me do this. First the "point system" is horrible, you lose points for the slightest mistakes, and it's very annoying! Please don't use this. At all. Trust me.
This little $#*!er Jean-Claude Falmagne made aleks. It is might be even worse than ixl. This $#*! website made me do hours of $#*!ing topics and if it is literally, LITERALLY impossible to finish without cheating which is $#*!ing ridiculous. $#*! aleks never use this trash site.
First, It sucks, and I have wasted a lot of time on this because of my Chem class. I just don't understand why college professors love ALEK. The more annoying part is when you have the right answer and tell you it's wrong. When you ask for an explanation it tells you the same answer. WTF
Please don't waste your time on this unless you are required to do work on ALEK.
I was part of a push to get my highschools math department to stop using alex. It is very ineffective for learning and only really works as busy work. This does not help kids learn. In fact we found that most of the time it only confuses them more. If you are an administrator, stay away. Though the idea of having math homework online is appealing, this is not the program to use.
I'm a freshman in college and for my Math class we have to use Aleks. I wasn't familiar with the website until my professor introduced it to us. Once we started using it, I thought to myself "oh, this isn't too bad", but then later just the thought of Aleks makes me wanna kill myself. I'd be completing 17 topics due soon and as I'm in the middle of completing those topics, I see my nightmare "Knowledge Check". If you end up having to use Aleks, I really really feel bad for you. I wouldn't wish this on my enemy, that's how much I hate this $#*!. I get so frustrated that I start to lose focus and instead of being able to complete the work, I just cry and cry. I've complained about this to my Professor and other students have done the same, if only they'd listen and understand the negative impact this has on students. On a recent test on Aleks, I used a comma (6,788) and it marked it as wrong and guess what? The correct answer was 6788. When you get an answer incorrect, it doesn't properly explain it to you. There is just sooooooo much wrong with this website. I HOPE TO GOD that it gets taken down because I doubt anyone would remember it exists. #$#*!aleks
Answer: Because the ALEKS program is literal hell and we people are just showing our hatred for it
Answer: Most likely.
Answer: Yes deal with it
Answer: Because people want to commit suicide in an original way, and ALEKS is the best way.
Answer: I don't think so but believe me a class action suit would be an improvement
Answer: I paid over $150 for this sumbi**h, I expect it to work
Answer: No i do not think the website owner has issued one but I think the feelings for aleks would be "down the toilet"
Answer: I realize this reply is very late but in case for anyone who needs it: -Let's say you're learning how to use long division. They have 3 questions in it. You master the first one, then go on to the next one. You get the second one wrong, guess what? They punish you and take back your first answer so now you have to answer it again. -How fun! And don't forget the useless knowledge checks!
