Aleks is not a good website. It does not provide good explanations and is very annoying with all of its different "knowledge checks." I have seen the top 5 star review and I can do very well in Aleks. I can keep up with it but I don't really learn anything really. It's just a mindless grind to do all the topics and get the knowledge checks done so I don't get a bad grade in my math class. My sister's high school teacher even said that Aleks is a waste of time and that teachers should not use it as a learning website. Plus Aleks doesn't really teach kids since they just want to get it done and it is super difficult at certain stages and can stress you out. When someone is stressed out you can't learn and be successful. I hope that in the future teachers don't use Aleks and to all the people who say it's a great learning website you are probably obsessed with math and like it. But I have a lot of friends that like math but don't like Aleks. Please teachers if you're reading this don't make kids do Aleks. It is a waste of time and stresses kids out a TON.

Well, were do i start? Aleks, overall, is one of the worst, dispicible, horrible, diobolicle webstites to show up on the face of the earth. Whoever created aleks, fun fact, escaped from a mentel asylum. Its so bad, like, this is wrong, this is wrong, this is wrong like shut the $#*! up bro, god.

I rilly like that if you get that picture of a classroom on the login screen you can see mold in then corner.

Teaches me nothing, stress me out, teachers rely on it way too much, school wide math progress plummeted since using aleks.

Does a dog$#*! poor job at teaching as it often does not fully show you how to work through the problems. Its not user friendly and will sometimes say an answer is wrong even though it their answer is the exact same as yours. On top of it all it can take ridiculous long time to get through the homework.

I very rarely write reviews, let alone bad ones, but this... oh boy. This is a good application if your teacher doesn't want to teach you. Explanations are absolutely terrible, so good luck learning anything, just go to YouTube. You get no partial credit for things such as a misplaced number or the smallest mistake, not a big issue, but annoying. The mechanics of the features are not very intuitive. There is no progression it just randomizes the questions with easy and hard ones, so if you get an easy one and move on, you won't understand how to do the harder ones. For those that may say, "people that hate this application just don't understand the math." The point of the application is for you to learn from it, that's why you're using it. If it doesn't teach well, then what is the point of it? Overall it gets the job done, but in the worst possible way.

The explanations given in ALEKS are absolutlely horrible. They do not help at all when I need to know what's going on, and I always have to search up how to do it on youtube. ALEKS also has its own brain, and there's always problems with the automatic knowledge check that prevents me from doing my work. Then, I can't do my work and it ends up late. Even if I get all the questions right, I get like an 89% when it said that it takes 10 points away from me but I got a B. And I hate the explanations on the topic goals, they never help me.

This website is a confirmed cause of terminal cancer. I have never had an actual violent bone in my body, but thanks to ALEKS, I now want to hunt down the p***s-licking psychopath that created this damn website and put an IV of arsenic into their bloodstream. If you actually think using this website is beneficial or helpful to student learning, you're probably also the person that thinks it's okay to fill baby bottles with antifreeze and watch your babies drink that! Dying of AIDS is more enjoyable. Avoid this trash at all costs!

Aleks is the worst posibal site ever used. It is a complet waste of time and SOMEONE NEEDS TO SAVE ME! TO MUCH HOMEWORK! TO MUCH TIME TAKEING! IT IS THE WORST THING THAT HAS EVER EXISTED! I WANT TO SHRED MY LIFE! IT LOWERED MY IQ

My entire class is just ALEKS. It is impossible to learn on. It took me weeks but I finally got to 100% on my pie, took the exam and redid the few modules I needed to work on some more and got back to 100%, and then I got a certificate of completion. But then it still made me take a final exam. It dropped my pie chart from 100% completion to 88% completion, yet my overall score somehow became 44%. Make it make sense. The grading system SUCKS and is so confusing and frustrating. I feel so discouraged and it makes me feel stupid when I know I'm actually smart.

I have learned more this semester off of Google than i have from Aleks. There have been countless occasions where my professor will straight up tell us "yeah, the Aleks explanations are pretty useless here" while they themselves fumble around the subject due to Aleks' backwards, Medieval attempts at education. Whoever made this must have purposefully made it bad in an attempt to make students purposefully fail the class repeatedly for their profit- that is quite literally the only understandable reason as to why a learning program is so entirely useless. Even in the peak of Covid, when all of my classes were online and none of us knew how to navigate online learning in the slightest, I learned more via one terrible, lagging online Skype session than the entirety of this semester. If you have any say over it, please choose a different program for your students, no one should have to PAY for a service this terrible.

I use ALEKS for my college chemistry class. I have a weekly quiz in this class and sometimes ALEKS will throw a "knowledge check" at me and keep me on my computer for an hour longer than I originally intended, which is something I don't have time for because I'm a full-time student and have a part-time job on the weekends. The knowledge checks themselves aren't helpful at all either. ALEKS will mark questions wrong for the smallest mistakes, erasing so much progress and forcing me to redo modules that ALEKS already considered "mastered". I am currently on week 14 in my class and ALEKS erased my progress (because of a knowledge check) on a topic from week 1, but somehow that topic is locked. ALEKS locked a topic from week one and won't allow me to do it even though it was already mastered and...is from week one...Not to mention that the only way ALEKS proposes learning is by repetition. It gives you the same problems just with different numbers over and over. Usually repetition is good for learning, but this is done in the wrong way. It's teaching the student that this is the only type of question that can be asked about a topic, which of course isn't the case for ANY topic that you'll learn in any subject. The repetition also wears you out so much that dumb mistakes can be made when answering which, in turn, erases your progress and you need to start again, making you even more worn out. ALEKS also has this fun thing where you can't work on anything else when you're doing a knowledge check. My teacher allows us to do quiz retakes on a certain day of the week, and one day when this day came and I went to do my retake, ALEKS forced me to finish the module check first, before retaking the quiz. ALEKS seems to assume that college students (or high school students) have unlimited time to waste our free time on ALEKS, when this obviously isn't the case. I would also like to mention that I'm extremely proficient in chemistry, so this comment isn't because I'm failing at all, I'm actually ahead of my class and have almost 100% in the class. This comment is coming from pure hatred for the website because it only makes me frustrated and holds me back from doing more important things with my time. The makers of this website are completely oblivious to the way students learn and what is beneficial for a learning environment. Using this website feels more like a chore than a learning experience (coming from someone who usually enjoys doing chemistry).
