I made reservation for hotel using PRICELINE. When I booked I was automatically switched over to Agoda. I never heard of Agoda. I am in Florida and booked a hotel in Florida.
When I received my credit card statement there was a separate 3% International Transaction Fee. The bank said I could not dispute the charge because Agoda does its billing out of Britain.
Be careful about being switched over to Agoda if you want to avoid the extra charge.
All of this is based on my personal experience.
Booked 2 hotel rooms through Agoda 1 month ahead. A month later, and a few days before my vacation or when I'm suppose to check in to the hotel I booked, emailed me saying that my hotel room got cancelled as they did not receive payment from Agoda! And I have already paid Agoda. Panicked! Called Agoda multiple times but long hold wait times, had to leave a message. Due to this being so last minute, I decided to just book the hotel rooms from the hotel directly, and I would deal with Agoda and my previous credit charge later on. Luckily, the hotel manager was very nice to honor my hotel room price which I paid to Agoda. The hotel manager told me that they have been having issues with Agoda for not receiving payment from Agoda for months. Seems like a fraud to me as I couldn't get hold of Agoda myself as well! Finally, a few hours later, then I received a call from Agoda, seems like from HK caller ID number. Through the very noisy background, I asked the representative to cancel my booking with my explanations. Finally, I was refunded the full amount. What upset me was there was no explanation: why Agoda didn't just pay the hotel, why such an inconvenience especially the stress it brought upon me just a few days before my vacation. Never again will I book from Agoda. Beware!
I booked a reservation with Agoda on April 3 for Memphis TN. My reservation was for May 24 - 27. On May 21 they billed my Credit Card. Then on May 22 they cancelled my reservation without any type of warning or communication. I called the Hotel on May 22 to confirm my reservation and they told me it was cancelled.
I have yet to know why or get a response from Agoda about this. Very upsetting.
Worst company to do bookings with NO CUSTOMER SERVICE, they have a sneaky website. No credits, vouchers are a scam and never apply, do not use!

I booked hotel in singapore may11 for 2 days, my money went out of my bank may 11.
I STILL have not received a voucher or confirmation email or anything.
Cant reach agoda to ask whats my booking ID Number because to get thru their phone tree OR email on the website you must enter your bookibg ID number!

I was given a less expensive room what I had paid for in Thailand and complained to Agoda. The price difference was about 400 USD - after numerous emails to Agoda the gave me a ridiculous gift card which is worth only about 140 USD. And the worst think about is that I can't find any hotel in EUROPE where I could book a room with the gift card. Gift cards are a scam!
1- Their customer service is very poor, you can not accesss them if you need them. You should wait at least 20 minutes to speak with them.
2- They easily cancell you reservation without telling you and they dont care you
3- prices are not real. Dont be so happy of cheap prices in their site
I strongly advice dont use them. There are some very better web sites for booking. Agoda is not a professional compony, they dont care customer satisfaction.
They charged me additional 500$ only before my travell with cancelling my booking.
It was my worst experience ever.
I booked accommodation in London with Agoda and paid in full. I then received an email from the hotel to say they were actually full and to contact Agoda. Five phone calls later, none of which were answered and several emails that nobody responds to, I am no closer to resolving this. It was the first time I had used Agoda and most definitely THE LAST.!
Have been trying for 2 days to talk to a manager to add to my reservation. Got hung up 3 times. Twice was on the phone for over 1 hour and had to hang up.
Cancelled my reservation because of terrible service. Do not trust them!
Using Agoda was the WORST travel arrangement experience ever for me! They confirmed the hotel-1 (5-star), which included breakfast. Then after a month they informed me that hotel room is not available. They forced me to take a downgrade to a hotel-2 (4 star), charged me more money, and also fooled me by not including the breakfast. I won't recommend Agoda to anybody. If you want a stressful travel planning then surely work with them.
Used Agoda to book two rooms in Pensacola Florida. They sent me confirmations for both rooms. One room for me/husband and one room for my mother.
Arrived in Pensacola on scheduled day. While checking into the hotel, they showed me having the two rooms reserved but didn't show any payment. Desk clerk requested payment. After a couple of days, I noticed my credit card bill higher than it should be.
Agoda charged me for the two rooms and the hotel clerk charged me for the two rooms. According to the hotel manager, Agoda claims they didn't receive any payment. Filed a dispute against Agoda with my bank who is investigating Agoda. Filed a complaint with my local Better Business Bureau. Filed a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission against Agoda.
I have made MANY calls to their customer service number only to be placed on hold for 30+ minutes. I don't continue to wait and hang up. I've emailed their customer service department over 500 times only to receive three email responses. Once response claims that we cancelled the rooms and are responsible for payment, which is a lie. No one cancelled the rooms that I booked. The second email requested copies of all receipts showing that I paid for each room twice. I've responded with copies of all receipts showing payment to Agoda and showing payment to the hotel. Third response was a survey email claiming that my claim was resolved and asking for my opinion on their customer service. As of today 4/25/2018 I've heard nothing else from Agoda. I'll continue to send email after email after email and continue filing complaint after complaint after complaint until they refund my money.

Lucky for a nice and patient staff that listened to me and aided me in getting refund. The counter staff wasn't too nice tho.
I made a reservation - and when I clicked "book" it resulted in a time-out, and there was no confirmation page which should result in NO BOOKING. I attempted to make a new booking (faster, this time) and it was all good. But then there were 2 BOOKINGS charged to my account.
If i cancelled then there would be NO REFUND. Cancellation policy stated that refund would be given if it was 37 days before hotel stay date, funny enough I made this booking 36 days before - which probably meant the cancellation policy is redundant.
Honestly a questionable website - how can you say that a customer's session timed-out, and still charge them for it?
I have been overcharged on my credit card. Been trying to call customer care since last 2 days. Your call will be kept on hold for more than an hour with nobody to reply. Tried even calling after midnight, but same thing. Nobody answers your call.
I booked a room online with my debit card. I arrived at the hotel. They said they didn't accept debit cards. I still haven't received my money back, and no money for another room and am now on the steeet no mo ey no room $#*!, $#*! this company will never use again. Ever.
I made a reservation on April 6th and was expecting the hotel voucher to follow within 10 minutes as stated. It is now 2 days later and it has not come. I have sent an email with my Agoda confirmation number and my email address ( just in the unlikely chance they have the incorrect address) and I got NO reply. Have been on the phone twice for 1/2 hour each ( no toll free number from this country) and never spoke to a human.

Incorrectly recorded my email address so booking information was sent to a different email address than mine. Agoda denies this but the email address they recorded on my profile is very similar to mine, but wrong just the same. After making one successful reservations at an OK hotel, two booking were created without my knowledge and I only discovered them when the charges hit my credit card.
Since all emails were being delivered to someone else, I did not know I had a problem with Agoda until the charges hit my credit card.
Agoda did not admit their error. Agoda did not return my calls even after a specific promise to do so. Agoda did not answer their customer support line promptly; I had to wait over an hour 4 different times to reach a human. Agoda was not able to locate the email error promptly. Agoda did not assist me in communicating with the hotels. I never once was able to reach the same person twice so I spent my time explaining the same problem over and over again on each call. Agodas response was always the same, that I must have made an error and booked the two different hotels in Berlin for the same days andas the reservations were pre-paid and there was nothing they could/would do to assist me. I reached out to booking.com and they found the problem in under 15 minutes, but referred me to back to Agoda to resolve it. Agoda has been giving me the same run around for nearly three weeks. Im out nearly 500 euro thanks to Agoda. Agoda emailed me tonight and assured me that they were very sorry that I failed to cancel my reservation on time(the one I didnt know I had), but that there was nothing they could do to alter their cancellation policy.
Im through with them. Use anyone but Agoda for your own sanity.
Trip Advisor directed me to book through Agoda. I arrived at the hotel, we booked a pet friendly hotel online, but... Surprise... the hotel does not allow pets! The hotel staff helped us find a pet friendly hotel close by. Now, after 4 phone calls, 3 emails to both Trip Advisor and Agoda, I cannot get a refund. Thank God for a credit card that I can dispute the charges and get a refund.
Booked and paid for a hotel in Chennai India... paid up front and then arrived at the hotel to find they had cancelled it. For no reason. They did email me before saying send us a photo of your credit card but that is fraudster language. Called their customer service who could not explain what happened or offer any solution. Lucky for me my cancelled hotel managed to find me a room in another hotel. Completely ruined my relaxing holiday and this is unforgiveable. Aggrieved and very upset... and this is a genuine review. TripAdvisor should drop this booking agent ASAP.
I made a reservation and cancelled it within hours and they charged me $500.38. That's not the worst part, my bank disputed the charge but the company actually put in an unauthorized charge after my bank applied a credit to my account and resolved the issue, instead of going through through the dispute process.

Answer: For me as well very bad experience with this site. The administrator failed to confirm my booking in the evening, claiming they could not see it in their system and stating that the reserved room was unavailable, despite all the correct booking information being provided. Instead, they offered me a different room. At 10 PM on December 31st, traveling with a child, I had no choice but to agree and pay again for the alternative room. I immediately reported the issue to Agoda for assistance. The room we were given was in an unacceptable condition: it was dirty, there were holes in the bathroom walls, and mold was visible. It was nowhere near the standard described in the booking. The following morning, a different administrator located my original booking and refunded the payment for the additional room. However, they falsely claimed that I had stayed in the room I originally booked. This is not true—the room I stayed in differed significantly from the description and photos provided at the time of booking. Despite providing all necessary evidence, Agoda has refused to support my complaint, stating that the hotel confirmed my booking, which does not address the poor service, the forced additional payment, or the unacceptable condition of the room. This experience demonstrates an appalling lack of customer care from both the hotel and Agoda. As a customer, I feel my rights were ignored, and no proper resolution was provided. I expect Agoda to take accountability and address this issue properly, as this level of service is completely unacceptable.
Answer: Well, you probably need to call the customer service online or send them email from Agoda to get a reply. I feel that it was in vain to look for any help or compensation once your reservation has been done. Even the you overlooked some tricky information, Agoda will completely ignore what you said and push the blame to the hotel/property or the users. That is how I feel after trying so sort our the issue. Once a mistake is made, we probably can only eat it. Never expect they will admit any misinformation on line.
