Cancelled my contract on time and still charged me for the following month without any service. Put me in collection just because I refused to pay for a nonsense charge. Worse company for security ever! Don't trust them.
After being a loyal customer for 5 years and 8 months, I called to request two home alarm key fobs. I initially spoke to the first rep on 9/11/2023 and she assured me that my key fobs would be mailed out and within a week I should receive them but never received the key fobs. I called back to follow up and was told that the initial customer service rep never followed through. After talking to a total of three additional reps 10 days later the last being the supervisor (who assured me that she would call me because a bad phone connection on her part but never did) and for a total of 1 hour and 16 minutes my concern and request of ADT incurring the cost to now expedite the two key fobs was never resolved. I was willing to pay for the two alarm key fobs. I was shocked to see that ADT had such terrible reviews but now totally understand why. I'm dropping ADT and now going with another provider.
I was an ADT customer for 4+ years. During the time I had service, it was was not good. I upgraded my internet to the best speed and still my cameras did not connect until after the person was gone. I tried a few times to get ADT to do something but they always blamed it on the connection. When I called to cancel the service due to moving with my partner and not needing it at his house, they not only charged me for an additional month, they also made me pay everything for the rest of my current contract! I am so upset over this and would never recommend getting stuck with this company.
ADT exterior camera service is spotty at best. The cameras rarely work when you need them to. I really don't care about the bugs crawling around the camera, I want to see who's at my porch door, who's near my buildings, who's at the front door, who's coming up the driveway. Whenever I get an alarm that the cameras have detected movement and it's actually a person there, the camera feed doesn't work consistently. But they'll work if a bird is flying around the camera. Do not waste your money on such an inferior system
One call to confirm payment, & to look into my account to find the invoice that supposedly I still owe. Was met with aggression and just so very rude, to also interrupt rudely. I was forced to hang up with no resolve once again. Who on earth put this person in charge of customer services.
I took a day off work to have my security system looked at. I received a call from ADT stating that the technician had a blow out on the vehicle and I needed to reschedule for another day. To my surprise s reputable company doesn't have a back up plan in case of emergency...
I've had adt for 3 years! They take your money but suck at canceling your service! 2 plus hr wait! The service also sucks and is very expensive!
I moved, was in between homes for 1 month. Talked to rep who stated I would not be charged $300 term fee as long as I start service again within x amount of months. Fast forward two months later… Term fee charged! After speaking with an agent I barely understood, they will partially refund me in 10 days! The 3 year contract they put you in is a jail sentence. As soon as I find another company that will pay my term fee I am done with ADT & their expensive rates and horrible customer service. ADT name is trash now!
This company never answers the phone. They do not check security. I could be being bugled and they would not even respond. I will NEVER use them in a new dwelling.
Stay away from this company, equipment is junk, cannot cancel your contract, long waiting on phone for customer service, takes 72 hours to speak with a supervisor and you will be lucky if they even call you back. I could go on and on…
For the past two years, my ADT cameras have been unable to maintain a connection to my WiFi (which has a speed of over 900 mbps), which works flawlessly. I have to reboot the system daily and it stabilizes the cameras for about two hours and then they all go offline again within two hours. It's truly pathetic. I have tried to get ADT to help me with this (I think it's the actual control panel that needs replacing, but they never have "the parts in the truck" and no one returns my calls. When an agent finally came by he had no idea how to fix it, so here I sit with an utterly useless security camera system. An embarrassment.
My contract was about to end with ADT, and I decided to do an upgrade. However, the upgrade was processed (setup) incorrectly, causing me to have 2 accounts. So they deleted one. Unfortunately, the one that was deleted was the "new" account, which triggered an early termination and a fee of almost $800.00. I've spoken to no less than 6 different people. They all seem to acknowledge the problem, but trying to get them to credit back my bank account has been more of a challenge than it should. Again, they've acknowledged the charges as an error on their part. They seem to make it extremely difficult to get reimbursed. I will also be filing a formal complaint with our consumer protection agencies.
The install tech was incompetent; made so many mistakes. Every time you call in for service no one actually assists you they just keep transferring you to different departments.
If you are lucky enough to get someone on the phone they are in Dominican Republic and have a hard time communicating with US customer. I have had to call 3 times and get the wrong advice each time. They want you to use Chat. But it never connects. Wait time for customer service is terrible.
Adt are the most unprofessional dodgy security company going. I have written several complaint emails and sent them to their complaints dept along with numerous calls and they do not reply. I contacted fair trading only to be told that there was nothing they could do because Adt refused to take their calls or answer emails so I feel like I've been failed by both
Our original system that was already installed when we bought our house is not getting signals, our alarm has been down for a week, I have made over 30 calls, on hold sometimes up to 40 minutes and they always want you to unplug and plug back in, never works, last night as has been for the last week, when I set my alarm, it started making strange beeping noises same as the entire last week, I was told a "tower" is down, so they can't get my signals. No idea when this will be "fixed".
Do not use ADT, ever since they were bought by Google they have become worthless.
Poor customer service
Poor service terrible service all lies lies lies lies all they say is we are so sorry to hear that but they don't do anything to fix the problem I'm so sorry I ever got involved with this company
My camera hasn't worked for 5 months. I have went round and round with technical support, they were supposed to send a replacement, that I never received. Almost $800 worth of stuff was stolen from my house, literally from right under the camera that isn't working. So I stopped paying my bill two months ago. They call several times a day, I explain that I will not continue paying for something that isn't working, especially after my things were stolen. Some of the people are extremely rude about it. When I ask to talk to a supervisor about the issues, I get transferred to the automated system instead. They are so concerned about my whole $80 past due, yet refuse to fix the actual issue.
I was having trouble with my carbon dioxide detector. It was chirping. I changed the battery, and it still chirped. I attempted to call to talk with someone, but one automated call tree after another connected me with someone who did not speak native English. I gave them a try, but with me repeating, and them repeating, it was painful. I tried "chatting", which is even worse. I've burned two hours on this and the best answer I have is to change to another company. ADT should charge a dollar more and hire someone in the U.S. I gave them one star because sitejabber would not allow me to give zero.
Answer: Difficult to reach them and even more difficult to reach someone who can assist accurately. A lot of billing hassles.
Answer: No $60 call out service charge anytime there are any issues including dying batteries.
Answer: Don't go with ADT, the worst company I've ever dealt with.
