I used ADT for over 20 years. I recently had an issue where the sensors stopped working and they refused to send a technician out to repair my system. They left me unprotected for over two months. I was planning to go out of town for two weeks and I needed my home protected so I decided to change systems. The day I called to cancel their service, they told me that they would NOW send out a technician. It was too late. The next month AFTER i terminated their service, they send me ANOTHER bill for the next month. I called them and the representative was very rude and I asked for a manager to contact me. She told me they would within 72 hours. Needless to say, I have never heard from them again EXCEPT to continue to get a statement for a month that I DID NOT have them under contract.
ADT is worthless. When I bought my house they installed their service, however, they didn't connect my camera to the electric, so it doesn't work. I realized this after my neighbor was burglarized. Now they want to charge me to have a tech come out to connect it. I was told this is just the way it is.
ADT Charged me $681 without my knowledge or permission. When I tried to cancel the service, they forced me into either signing a new 3 year contract or pay over 900 to cancel the service.
TODAY WITHOUT MY PERMISSION THEY CHARGE $681 and on top of it they closed the account.
What a worse company. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT GET ALARM SYSTEM FROM ADT AS THEY WILL MAKE YOU PAY WHEN YOU DONT HAVE A LOCATION.

I've been an ADT customer since 2020. During that time my doorbell and back yard cameras have rarely worked. Repeated calls to customer support to get the cameras back online has been a time consuming and frustrating experience. I've spent hours on hold, only to have the problem persist. Requests for onsite troubleshooting costs $169, with ADT telling me that network connectivity problems are beyond the scope of its support responsibilities.
ADT customer support is abysmal! Avoid this dinosaur like the antiquated relic it is.
WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT CONTRACT WITH THIS COMPANY!
It has been a non stop nightmare and they will not allow you out of your contract and are charging $8000+ for the so called "installment fee" that we pay for 5 years even though their installation was faulty and my equipment has been glitching since install.
EIGHT tech appts for different things and they still won't let me out of it. I am hiring an attorney and hoping to take this to the Attorney General. Worse company I've every dealt with.
Account management was brusque and had no desire to listen to my concerns or help me.
They are the worst! Take no responsibility for their mistakes, refuse to reimburse after they were in error, and have caused many issues with my services. Customer service has a "we cant do anything about that" approach once services have been rendered, billing included. Read your contracts, I added a lock to our system, and the phone agent said I would be charged in three installments. They charged me the FULL amount, which really set me back (as you know it is not cheap), and when I called to dispute, they had no contracts, agreements, or conversations stating they had agreed to that. Also, make sure you ask for an actual ADT tech. Mine was a third party tech, who really jacked up the system, on top of everything else. Very bad customer services, and very bad treatment of clients. If I didnt owe on equipment, I would look elsewhere. Sad.
This company is a nightmare we been with them for like 5 months and we ready had problems with the equipment more the 3 times, the customers service is horrible when you called the disconnect the call and then you have to call back and wait more the 30 min. They also wanted to charge us for a technician to come and fix the system when we bought it with them is because they suppose to give you the service if is there equipment. Like I said this company is horrible and I will give less than one star.
I hope a few people read this and heed my warning as I wish I would have read the reviews, horrible company and their cancelation policy is just WRONG in my book, I paid all this money for their overpriced equipment and now they want me to pay them over $2000 to cancel, what a scam!
So far I have been bounced around to 6 different support agents, waiting at least 15 to 10 minutes each. Their support SUCKS. They really need to get their act together. There should NOT be any termination fee when I moving with my home in Florida using a ADT solution. Paying $157 and adding 30 day penalty is BS!
I absolutely hated how long I was on hold I don't understand why you can't leave a call back number but my overall experience was very good.
This is the 3rd unit I have had replaced due to issues with it for my 87 year old dad living alone. Last week my dad took a terrible fall over the top of his walker. His attendant myself and a friend all saw it happen. I ran over and pressed the button on the pendant and nothing happened! The lights flashed across it and no voice came on. I pressed it again and then a third time. I pressed it hard and held it all the way down the third time. Finally an operator came on and started taking the information. I am so very disappointed in ADT. After all this is ADT we are talking about here which is the leader in home and health security. It was up until this for me. I am not sure what the issue is with these On the Go units might be. The unit seam slow to connect during the testing each month. Slow anything is not what you need in an emergency situation. Thumbs down ADT.
You have to be careful if you have a problem with your bill. These people are in no hurry to correct a mistake. I have had my bank trying to help resolve the matter and it still has been months with no success. It is just lousy customer service.
Equipment is terrible and sends false alerts. They have bad customer service and a 3 year contract that costs a lot to break.
Did not install main door entry sensor. Had to pay additional for fixing key installation issue, worst customer service ever
I was so unhappy with the customer service representative she over talk me she tried to explain that I got charged double for 2 months and called it prorating finally she agreed to return half of that in five to seven days I had to wait on the phone for 30 minutes 30 minutes unbelievable to talk to someone that was incredible all the while while listening to a recording telling me how great ADT was and how many customers they have if they have so many customers perhaps they should hire more customer service Representatives with better attitudes as soon as my contract is up I am done with you ADT
The service is not horrible, the support is. I have just been trying to setup automatic bill pay for weeks. Website didn't work, told me to contact them at their number. I did so, was told it was going to be escalated and they'd get back to me within 24 hours. When 3 days later I hadn't been contacted, I started a chat. Again, this was going to be escalated immediately to a supervisor. 48 hours, they said. 4 weeks, it has been. I am going to give up now, I wish I had chosen someone else for our security needs.
My name is Dave Powell. I have used this company for 28 years, and in January 2022, I paid to upgrade my system to the new ADT control smart house system. Unfortunately, it has only worked for 14 days with a problem. I have had several service calls and several phone calls to their office to get items repaired. I have asked for seiner repair techs, and they send techs that do not know the equipment. We have spent several thousands of dollars on this system, and we no longer can even turn it on without clearing all of the problems in the system. I have asked to have a seiner tech and requested they call me before coming, and they do not call, but they do call the wrong phone number. This security upgrade has been a disaster getting this new system.
And the biggest insult to this is I am still paying my monthly cost and ADT will not return my calls
ADT another dumb technology company. Not reputable at all had our smoke alarm go off 15 minutes later they call. Enough to burn the house down. Had problems with door locks, a week later they co. E out, still not working right. Very u professional stuff will not deal with problems a d pass the uck to a other that your on hold for 50 plus minutes or hang up. This hand does t know what the other ha d does. Staff has a arritude, and double charges you for when a credit is to be applied twice. They are not what they use to. E. I the 80s they were great, today they stink. I would t recommend the. To a yo e. SVe trouble a d look otherwise. You will be glad you did. Very unsatified. My newly installed back-up battery failed within 2 weeks. Cannot set the alarm and insurance is jeopardised. Called them 3 weeks ago now, they promised a call within 2 hours. Nothing. Called and called again and every day they promised a call within 2 hours. My alarm is still inoperative because of the battery fail. No one is accountable. Cannot get a name for the "line operation whatever" who is supposed to assign jobs. The excuse: there is more than one. Surely, there must be a "General" in this army of renegades... I asked to be given his/her name, no luck. They are all faceless and nameless. Hiding behind this anonymity they manage to get away with appalling service and screw their clients over and over. I will be writing to the CEO next, Company's House will have the name.
I was a long time ADT (12 years) subscriber. In the process of adding on to my home, the wired alarm system was cut. ADT wanted, at a minimum, $450 to reinstall it, changing to wireless. And increase my monthly fee to $52 on a three year contract. I told them to cancel my service, and they then charged me for an additional month! Simply safe is now my choice. By the way, ADT had no idea my system had even been cut.
Answer: Difficult to reach them and even more difficult to reach someone who can assist accurately. A lot of billing hassles.
Answer: No $60 call out service charge anytime there are any issues including dying batteries.
