ADT is a total scam. They do NOT call after an alarm; they do NOT call the police after the alarm is going forever. AND, they have 2.5 hour hold times. I'm on day two of trying to cancel my service. Approx phone time: 2 hours. You get passed around and around and nothing happens. Total scam, I can't believe they aren't investigated AND SHUT THE F DOWN
DONT FALL FOR THEIR 6 MONTHS MONEY BACK GUARANTEE. ITS A WAY TO MAKE YOU GET INTO A CONTRACT. STAY AWAY FROM ADT. THEIR SYSTEM AND EQUIPMENT DONT WORK PROPERLY, THEY WONT SEND A TECH OUT. WANT YOU THE CONSUMER TO TROUBLE SHOOT. WHEN YOU WANT TO CANCEL WITHIN THE 6 MONTHS FOR THEIR BAD EQUIPEMENT OR CUSTOMER SERVICE, THEY WILL TELL YOU YOU CANT CANCEL FOR FAULTY EQUIPMENT AND STUCK TO PAY THE FULL TERM CONTRACT AND EQUIPMENT. WE SHOULD ALL HERE SIGN A PETITITION TO FILE A CONSUMER LAWSUIT AGAINST ADT FOR POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE AND BREACH OF CONTRACT. ANYONE WHO WILLING TO, GIVE US A THUMB UP AND I WILL PUT IT IN MOTION.
ADT ALARM SYSTEM misleads us customers with lies and promises. And will not solve any issue your having. They will just BILL you more than you order even if your system is installed and not working. When you call them you will be given the run around. There Technician's are LAZY and LIARS! Very unprofessional just like the company! FRAUD FRAUD all around.
I SHOULD HAVE READ THE REVIEWS. I SET UP SERVICE WITH THEM OVER A MONTH AGO AND STILL HAVENT RECIEVED MY EQUIPMENT. I CALLED EARLIER THIS WEEK TO BE TOLD THE EQUIPMENT WAS SHIPPED TO A INCORRECT ADDRESS. THE PHONE NUMBER WAS ALSO INCORRECT SO IT WAS A HASSLE TO EVEN FIND ME IN THE SYSTEM. IT WAS CORRECTED ON JULY THE 3RD AND THE LADY TOLD ME SHE WOULD OVERNIGHT IT TO ME. ITS FRIDAY THE 7TH AND STILL NO EQUIPMENT. IVE BEEN TRANSFERRED 4 TIMES ANS BEEN ON HOLD FOR 30 MINS EACH TIME. NOONE CAN SEEN TO HELP ME. AT THIS POINT IM ON HOLD TRYING TO CANCEL MY SUBSCRIPTION. THIS IS WAY TOO MUCH UNPROFESSIONALISM FOR A NEW CUSTOMER.
Received wrong products, spent one month trying to get ahold of someone to send Back, always being told that's not my department. Still have products and nothing
De Lie to you to purchase the cameras And no one got back to me not even the manager requested three times don't by the cameras
It's a spiderweb! You'll never reach the end of your contract! They LIE, LIE & LIE! Don't believe nothing their reps tell you, they just want the sell, trust me. They got my bank account immediately for the remainder of my contract the very next day I told them I was moving. They offered me a portable system but yet charged me for the balance owed on my old system when the rep told me that my old account will be null & void since I'm going with the portable one and yes, you never can reach anybody and when you do, all they do is LIE! STAY AWAY FROM THESE FOLKS
The customer service has been horrible to work with. There's a 6 month money back guarantee that they tell you about but they do not let you get out of the contract if the cameras aren't working because that is not apart of the "security system." ADT is not at all concerned with the quality of their service and security. Their only goal is to lock you into a contract to make you pay thousands of dollars with zero care about your customer experience. Dealing with ADT has felt like a total scam!
STAY AWAY!
I had a camera issue and it took ADT 7 visits to finally resolve the problem. The sad part is that it wasn't ADT that resolved the problem, it was I, who did the troubleshooting all on my own. I finally figured out it was the power cord from the camera that goes up into the attic that had gone bad so I had an ADT technician bring me a cord to replace the bad one.
The camera finally worked, but they charged me $63.87. When I called them, one agent told me I should not have been charged and he transferred me to the billing department, where I was told that the agent I spoke with gave me wrong information.
I then called back and spoke with another agent, who told me that the reason I was charged was because the camera was replaced, but I was clearly not charged for that job number. Each visit is assigned a job number and the job number I was charged for was the one that replaced the power cord so they would not refund my money.
Another technician told me the reason I was charged for was not because the power cord was replaced, but because the technician had to go to my house even though I had never paid for a technician to come out to my house before and I had this service for many years.
This upset me a lot so I decided I didn't need to keep paying for a service with that level of dishonesty so I called to cancel and oh my God, it took all day to do just that. I would be placed on hold and they would never pick back up. I was also transferred several times and no one would answer. It got to the point where I started to believe it was going to be impossible to cancel my service with ADT.
The last time I was transferred I was literally screaming to the guy that answered and he finally helped me even though he was not with the cancellation department and each agent before him assured me the only way to cancel my account was via the cancellation department.
Finally, the guy that helped me told me I was going to be charged one more time for next month because I needed to have given them a 30 day notice to cancel the service.
Well, I'm done with ADT and I don't recommend this service to anyone!
I've called adt customer service in May 2023 to find out whether my account would automatically be renewed for a yearly contract
when my current contract expired at the end of June. If that was the case, I was wanting to cancel the service and I made this clear. The representative I spoke to at the time assured me that the service would move on to a month-to-month basis with no obligation to renew, and that I would no longer be under contract. It's
July, and I have now received a bill for a whole new year's contract. Upon contacting adt customer service center on three times in the same day, I was told first that I was not under contract, then that I was in fact under a renewed contract. I did my due diligence in a timely manner to ensure I wasn't saddled with a service i didn't need for a house that is to be put on sale. And it is unacceptable that adt representatives feel comfortable openly lying to customers about the terms of the service to keep them tied up in contracts they neither want nor need. I'm utterly disgusted with this company. I want this contract canceled.
Complete waste of your money, they won't come out to your house to help whatsoever, horrible customer service, horrible SERVICE, the cameras barely and rarely work, and all NON REFUNDABLE

When you actually have an issue they will act like they can't do anything. This bs company will act like they care about you until you actually need their service then they can't take care of their own service. They are irrelevant and you should pay them nothing
Sorry equipment, need to work properly but don't, I have been with ADT for several years and have nothing but problems with the system poor working equipment and poor customer service representative poor train tech especially Richard
Whatever you do…do not use ADT as security. They are a COMPLETE joke and they just scam you out of more and more money for a system that never works and always has issues. Yet they can send someone out to help for another $67 but the system will work for maybe a day and you'll have to send someone out again for another $67….on top of $69 a month for it. Not to mention we paid over $1700 at the day of installation and they never tell you that you have a 3 YEAR contract and if you try to cancel before 3 years youll owe them $900 more…they are a joke, they want more and more money. We've had issues with the system since day one…so now they lowered it to $48 a month that we have to pay for 3 dang years unless we decide to cancel it which will require $900 upfront. NEVER AGAIN! It took me DAYS to even get ahold of then to cancel too I wouldn't even give them one stars but you had to pick one.
ADT is horrible. They have the worst customer service and are way more expensive than other home security companies. Their system are complicated and you can't get anything fix without them charging you a lot of money. You can even cancel your service on line and you are always on hold waiting to speak with someone. I wish I could rate them a zero
We've been without service for 3 days only people that answer ADT PHONES are in the Philippines and they can't even assist you. Their mother office ( local) doesn't even pick up their phone lines. Really unacceptable. If you'd like to just give away your money ADT IS definitely the company for you
Attempted to cancel on May 6 2023, they said I have to talk to someone in retention but that office was closed so they said somebody would call me the next day but they never did. Fast forward to today where I went to cancel the service. The first person couldn't talk to me. They said I need to talk to loyalty retention. I proceeded to wait 46 minutes till the person answered then that person transferred me to another person and by an hour and 17 minutes later I was a fourth person who was ready to transfer me to assess. This is deplorable, deplorable, manipulative behavior, on the part of AGT I moved I considered using the same service in my new location but after what I just went through tonight absolutely not don't do it that does the manipulation. Wow.
My 81 Year old mother called in to ADT to cancel the service she has been using for the past 10 years. They would not allow her to cancel and would not allow her to talk to a supervisor. Now I am calling. The first time... after hitting about 10 prompts to get to the cancellation department I was disconnected. I am now calling for a second time and have been on hold for a half hour. So there are so many people calling to cancel at 8:30 on a Wednesday night it requires a 45 minute hold. So since I am going to be on hold I figured I should use this time wisely to write a review about their terrible customer service. My mother doesn't even use the service... she just likes it when it tells her the door is opening. $50.00/month for that? Well as I continue to hold... I guess I will cut and past this review to other websites. I better not get disconnected after holding all this time... and let them try to intimidate me... Cause you got the right one Baby!
I became a customer of adt nearly 6 years ago and twice they upgraded their system to where the equipment they sold me is so out dated that it is no longer compatible with their system. Instead of upgrading my equipment they've told me I have to pay $800 to get the new equipment. I had a 5 year contract with them that I still had 2 years left on. I refuse to spend another dollar on their terrible service and terrible equipment-especially since there's no guarantee that it will work for the duration of my contract. Terrible customer service as well. I've spent countless hours on hold trying to get help with their faulty equipment. I cancelled my contract and they send me a bill for $800 due to cancellation. Seriously…avoid this company at all cost.
Answer: Difficult to reach them and even more difficult to reach someone who can assist accurately. A lot of billing hassles.
Answer: No $60 call out service charge anytime there are any issues including dying batteries.
