I sold my business and had service transferred to the new owner. ADT continued to charge both me and the new owner for a full year. Even though I've been promised a refund several times over, after several calls and tens of hours on the phone, I've never received a dime. This company is a scam operation! Stay clear!

ADT is a company full of people who all work from home and know absolutely nothing about anything! I would not recommend ADT to anyone!
ADT is a fraud in disguise. When you cancel your service. They will continue to charge your card. You have to call back and they will transfer you five times to say " we have no record of cancellation.
I blocked them from my account. So they charged my sons card…lol. This company is a straight fraud. Buyer beware.
ODear ADT, First, if you insist on charging clients who have had your system for over 20 YEARS, the cost of upgrading really OLD equipment, well, that is already BAD customer service. 2nd when a Virtual Call is 1 hour and 45 minutes late because of a "scheduling mix-up" that another big "no, no". Come on, you have saved so much in costs by hardly offering any human interaction,without reducing what you charge the customer, at least treat us like you value us. With competitors like RING, Arlo & a LOT of others, what is to keep me with you paying $45 a month? The only thing is the garage door sensor with Pulse that allows me to open the door. That's not a big enough reason. I am researching options as I type.
I took out the ADT version of the life alert system after being discharged from the hospital in May 2023 and took out the annual billing option. When I received the first bill it was for 1 month and not the year, so I called and they said they would correct and send a new bill. Eventually I received another bill with 1 month and 1 year so at the beginning of July I canceled the service and sent the equipment back. I then received a bill for the 2 months that I had for the service and tried to pay with my HSA credit card, over an hour was wasted with rude and incompetent customer service minions and found that it was impossible to pay with the card, so sent a check by snail mail. During the 2 month period a received several phone calls from their billing department demanding that I pay them there and then, I told them that once they get the billing correct that I would pay it - these people were extremely rude and was one of the reasons I canceled the service. Now I am free of them and life is good!
Being a small business requires management to take care of setup and administrate the system. We are losing an awful lot of time just pending in loops. The call back system has not been efficient and agents appeared to be exhausted and unfriendly at times. Basic Tier3 inquiries were handled impatiently and kept being unresolved over long periods of time, creating a direct loss of control over our assets. The fact that we are told to be valid customers seems utterly sarcastic in that context and makes you feel even more powerless against the latent ignorance and factual absence of those support teams. It cant be considered an outstanding merit to ensure that electronic equipment is doing what its supposed to do. You really want to make a difference - fix your support and be kind, human and understanding to customers. For now, ADT does not.
Ended Adt after contract was done. Called to verify operators confirmed and three months later a collections agency sent notice to pay 399. ADT did not send any bills in mail form or email form before sending to collections. ADT are a POS. Would not recommend even for a dog house.
I have been an ADT customer for over 18 years and did not have any problems until recently. I have to call at least twice (usually 4 times) and be transferred several times to get the wrong information. They do not seem to know what equipment I have; why wouldn't they have a record? I am repeatedly given information that does not apply to me. Why do I have to send pictures to prove the You Tube videos they refer me to or the batteries they tell me to order are wrong?
I have lost a lot of confidence in ADT and their ability to be of service to me.
I am pleased to say that I had a rep, Shuntria Matthews who was the best rep I have ever received help from. She helped me with an issue that I had been dealing with a door sensor for over a month. She went the extra mile by setting up an installation appointment so that J could receive a replacement sensor. Shuntria is what you would call a model employee who needs to hold a class to teach others how to treat loyal customers. Thank you Shuntria and your help was definitely appreciated!
Don't use this company! Getting ahold of anyone often took up to half an hour and I was constantly transfered between people. The security system istself started malfunctioning after a year and going off when no one had opened the door. Then we moved and asked to cancel and found out that this company hides the fact that their contract is for 36 months when they sell it to you- so they charged us just under $700 to cancel our service and expect us to send back the system. I'm extremly appalled at their underhanded actions and hidden fees.
While I called them to cancel my account, they ok me ok phone keep sells me new service, and refills to cancel my account, make me so pissed then hand on me. Worse experience.
Back in March 2023, I called ADT to cancel service. I was told I would have to pay off my contract. After a considerably lengthy conversation, I was offered a $9.99 monthly contract if I stayed with them for another year. I accepted. The new payment was never applied. I called today, July 2023 to cancel. After 2 hours of of the same conversation over and over, I am told the rep. I spoke to in March would have to be the one to handle it. This is ridiculous! I asked what if he no longer worked there….the rep. Kept repeating that he is the one that has to do it. The run around I am getting is annoying me to the point that I have no patience for the next rep that calls me back again. Come on ADT….it is 2023….stop with the run around…UNACCEPTABLE
We were ADT customers for 21+ years. The quality of service has steadily declined the last few years.
Contacting their service center results in a long time on hold, frequent transfers, and ADT agents that do not communicate clearly and they make commitments that they are not authorized to make. Field techs often do not have the necessary equipment to make required repairs, resulting in multiple visits and waisting consumers time.
The service is poor. They had someone who was not qualified to install the alarm system. The gentleman bent up my vinyl siding lon come my house. I refuse to pay them until they fix everything damaged. They just continue sending me bills. I would not recommend this company to no one. I will take them to court. I'm tire of calling them to fix everything. It's. Been over a year & they have not sent anyone to fix anything. My son car was hit in front of my door and the car did not work & the person kept going. What good for was the camera, not working as always. I s go pulse never be sent a bill. I'm not paying them anything. Like or or not. They are a terrible company use another company.
Don't do it! The customer service is horrible. The 30 day moneyback guarantee is a lie. They're here to steal your money. They do not to care about you at all. Do not sign up. Signing up with ADT was the stupidest move iv made as a home owner. Find somebody else, any other company what do you a better job, an old dog that's blind will protect your house better than ADT ever will.
It took 2 months to cancel, they continue to state it was not cancelled when i spent multiple hours on the phone to have this taken care of. Now i refuse to pay and will gladly go to court and spend attorney fees just to prove a point. We had the service over 4 years, never made one phone call to them, yet when i attempt to cancell it takes hours to even get a representative, then they will hang up or have to transfer you.DONT GET THIS SERVICE... I would never recommend them. I would not even give one star if i could
If your military I strongly recommend to avoid ADT at all cost. I was told when I signed up that if I got orders to move that EVEYTHING would be waived and I would not owe a dime. 6 months later I got orders and now they are telling me they will waive the contract but not the equipment (they told me to leave behind because I would get new stuff if the new house could have ADT). So now not only do I not have the equipment, bc the house sold with it on it. But I'm also stuck with an almost $2000 loan bill. I was told this was NOT a loan and that it was just payment plans that would be waived. I've been in the military I would NEVER have knowing singed a loan knowing I would be moved.
So after years of service trying to cancel service with ADT. Service not working. Awaited someone to arrive after work was done in house and no show and then when called was told an amount for charge and was high. Have tried now call to cancel. Attempted twice and wait time greater than 40 minutes. Have an older system even and cost very high. Can get better service from Ring or personal cameras
As I'm sitting here writing this, I've been on hold for 57 minutes and 11 seconds. I'm being charged for services that I did not sign up for. Whenever I call someone, it just gets to run around to the next person.
Sales people, promise one thing, then deliver another. 58 minutes and 22 seconds ATT.
Answer: Difficult to reach them and even more difficult to reach someone who can assist accurately. A lot of billing hassles.
Answer: No $60 call out service charge anytime there are any issues including dying batteries.
