Acceptance Now Pt. 2
December 1, 2020
Updated review

They never called, but I went back to the branch that I purchased and paid off account and requested a copy of the Certificate of Ownership. They were unable to print, but they wrote on a blank pre-printed certificate: my name, the items purchased, the date it was paid, and the date it was due (showing it was paid prior to the 90 days) and signed. I called Acceptance Now (main office) and told them that I had the Certificate of Ownership. They asked me to take a picture of it and email it to the email provided by representative. It was resolved in less than 3 days.

Purchased furniture in May 2020. The due date to pay off was 8/16/20. Paid off account 8/2/20. Acceptance now withdrew money from my account 10/9/2020. Called the local and corporate office. Local store manager avoided my calls although she took the final payment and reminded me that the account should be closed. District manager did not review account only reviewed what a customer rep reported. My last resort was contacting the Regional manager who has not reviewed the case. Account still showing open and scheduled to withdraw. Last resort is small claims.

Over charges
December 1, 2020

We bought furniture from Value City and used these people. BEWARE. Our original bill was $1255. We have paid over $3000 and they still say we over $797. We have never received any copies of any documents we signed after both emailed and written requests. We did receive a copy of our payment schedule, which showed we paid sales tax on the total purchase at the time of sale. THEN they added another 6% of sales tax every single month on the balance,. Over $600 of sales tax on a $1255 purchase.

RIP OFF! Don't use!
November 26, 2020

Pretty much in the nut shell I bought $1,000 couch which was replaced twice cost me $2000 at the end of the lease agreement! I cannot believe how this company gets away with it. There pretty much stealing from the consumers! There Interest rate is basically 100%! It makes me angry, because this was never explained to us. Buyers beware and always ask questions!

I have been dealing with an issue with this company since May 2020. I bought a produce through then and paid it off with in 2 Months. I paid over $1700 and never received the product. So in September when I still had not received my product I asked for a refund. The store that I was dealing with was in Florence AL and they did issue me a refund check, but for only $1400. When I called to asked why I didn't get all of my money back the rep in the store told me that they did not refund taxes and fees and that the taxes had when to the state already that's why. So I then took the issue to the District Manager. He refused to answer my calls. Then I when to cooperate about it. They weren't much help either. I kept getting "ticket" numbers but no calls back or answers. So Finally I got a rep with cooperate that took me seriously and she called the store and made them issue another check for the remainder of my money that i paid them. On 11/9 the store rep called me and told me the check was issued and was expedited to be mailed to me. Its now 11/25 and I still have not received the check that they "said" i would be getting! This company is HORRIBLE! They DO NOT care about their customer or doing the right thing. I am absolutely disgusted with the entire experience!

So I go and make my last payment on 90 day agreement. I walk up tell the MANAGER that im here to make my final payment. She verifies who I am and my account. I swipe my card. She then tells me the printer is broken and she is unable to give me a receipt. She said, a new one was on the way and should have arrived on 11/13/2020. She mentioned, she was hoping it arrived the next day 11/14/2020. I waited until 11/15/2020 to get my final payment receipt. Guess what, the printer disnt come in. We are almost in 2021, what reputable company doesn't have an email option available to their customers? I paid with a card so at least I have some sort of paper trail. Buyer beware!

Beware and READ!
November 4, 2020

Don't finance with them unless you're an idiot and can't read contracts. The interest is exorbitant, and it's almost impossible to get someone on the phone. The website doesn't work. Predatory lending at its finest.

I will advice anyone who is trying to use this company... please please don't do it. Gather your money together and buy your stuff at once. This is the worst company to deal with. They will reap you off and then they will tell you " I apologize "
You can verify they have poor rating.

Super mal
October 21, 2020

I purchased a sectional and a chair that was originally $2048. 00. Early Purchase Option was $2557. 98. I have not been able to access my account since day one. Customer service is non existent. I have always waited no less than 48 minutes on hold. Then to only be told things like... Our system is down, I can not help you with password support, your account does not provided you with a history of payments, call the store where to got the furniture from they should be able to help you, call us back after you try a few more times to login to your account.
This is by far the worst company I have ever had to deal with. They have so many optional charges that they do not inform you of, for example if your automatic payments are 300 monthly, $70 of that is going to extra charges, not towards your furniture payments. These people are scammers. I even have a phony contact number on my contract that doesn't exist. I regret not putting more time and attention to who I was dealing with. Your better off with Progressive, I had no issues with them at all. Completed my EPO in 3 months with them, with no issues and great customer service.

I willingly entered into a contract for a purchase of a 399$ Chair and the end of my 90 days If I choose to pay off early i would have owed 30$. Covid Hit during that time and my auto payments continued to come out of my account which was fine. However I miscounted days and was about 2 weeks past my 90 day payoff. I called to explain and was told by a VERY RUDE rep. That SORRY a contact is a contract..

Worst Service I Ever Had
September 15, 2020

Run from this people, they are totally scamming people. Customer service is zero to none. You will be on the phone for hours before getting a rude agent unwilling to assist. Their website keeps locking you out when payment is due so they can charge you for penalties. Called multiple time in reference to an error in a payment they automatically processed causing me an additional $400 and the District Manager from Clermont Florida named Theodore was extremely unprofessional in the matter and basically told me to F@#@ O#$... Acceptance Now will never get another cent from me and the family again...

I purchased a mattress from Rooms To Go and used Acceptance Now. I was told at the store that my lease would be one of 3: #1 - to lease for 120 days (4 months); #2 - to lease for 180 days (6 months); or #3 - to lease for 17 months and I should avoid those because that is where the interest goes up. I opted for a 6 month lease and began making payments. I was able to pay more than required so I was paying ahead of schedule. When you try to make a payment and you are paid ahead, you can no longer use the website so you have to call. Those reps kept telling me my balance which was decreasing accordingly until today. Last month it was around $688.36. Today their rep, Toni, said my balance is $1,098.32 because I did not pay within the 120 days. I asked to speak with a supervisor, but Toni said she did not have anyone and I should call the store. The store never answers and you go to a voice mail but they do not return calls. I asked for a supervisor again, and Toni said she will have Jeff, a Dist. Manager, call but that will take 24 to 48 hours, or by Monday (9/14/2020). I asked Toni to send me the agreement that shows it was a 120 day agreement, but she cannot and said I would have to obtain that from the store. I'm going to pay off the amount even though it is more and report them to the Office of the Attorney General in Texas as well as the Federal Trade Commission. I will never use them or Rooms To Go again. From now on I will stick with a reputable rental store such as Aaron's Furniture Rental.

Where do I start? First, the amount you are verbally quoted does not match up with the amount on your paperwork. They can't tell you what accounts for the extra cost. You have to start paying BEFORE you receive your merchandise (every other company I've ever worked with, it starts the day you receive it), which in my case was nearly six weeks. They charge you $49.99 "deposit", which if you cancel they try to tell you is a "processing fee" and is not refundable (which as soon as I mentioned a lawyer, that was immediately refunded). They also informed me that not all of my payment would go towards my balance for 120 days "same as cash"--meaning it's not "same as cash", and it's being charged interest and fees. Upon digging, it was fees for all these extra things I wasn't told about, like insurance, some weird "benefits program", etc.

I got a bad feeling about everything, and I'm glad I decided to hold off signing things and do my research, because this company is predatory beyond belief. I'd rather sit on the floor than ever pay this company $3500 for a $1000 couch.

My credit application was denied for 500.00 and my wife tried and was also denied. We both have excellent credit according to the credit bureau. Room Store purchase of 500.00? We ended up just paying cash. So insulting!
