These folks are scam artists. They advertise a TGTBT price and then go on to prove the maxim. Once your order is placed, you get a call alerting you that you in fact ordered an inferior version [5 bit chip stead of 10 or some such nonsense], but for only $$$ more you can have the normal USA version of the TV set you thought you ordered. There in fact in no such inferior version, so if you insist on maintaining your order, they will simply tell you it's not in stock. In fact, they cant deliver what doesn't exist! I suspect that these folks likely go on to sell your personal information, credit card numbers and passwords to other scam artists so they make out whether you elect to upgrade or cancel. These are bad folks. Stay away!
Seen these people's ad for the LG 77" OLED TV, for an "amazing" $3,649! Did my due diligence and checked their online reputation, including this very sitejabber.com everything seemed to be OK. Placed an order and then the circus came to town!
Got a call from them on the weekend, and the story was that I have ordered a unit made by "an LG subcontractor in China, which they use only during high season", with a display that was "not as good" as what LG normally makes; but, they would sell me the "good" unit, for some $4,999. Unlikely story since there are only a very, very few makers of large OLED displays in the world, and display factories do not go on/off "as needed". Since they already accepted my order, I insisted to maintain the same order. I was told that a delivery will be made in 14 days, or so.
Called them after 14 days, and I was next told the unit I ordered was a "hotel version"; I was also told some gibberish regarding power consumption, and some others stuff I did not understand even if I have a college engineering degree, and I worked in the electronics industry for 30yrs. There was no delivery date anymore, and I was invited to wait indefinitely until a hotel would order 100 units, so they can add mine.
Surely, I did cancel the order.
I ORDERED OLED65C8PUA. I even called them first, they said order can also be picked up but when busy season ends. In 1 wk.
3 days after ordering, they call me for $800 extra since the TV i ordered was commercial.
They said there were 2 TV's on their website. So what they did was, they added another TV on their website same model- stating OEM, then they called me saying there are 2 different TVs
My LG OLED 65C8PUA arrived today and I am happy as a pig in slop. My TV was packaged very properly and it was just as I expected. Al, at ABC TV's told me the truth about my order and I was in doubt a little but no more, I highly recommend ABC TV's to anyone looking for a great TV at a great price. Look, great TV's are not cheap okay so you get what you pay for, period.
I was looking for a very specific tv and supposedly ABCTVs had it. I typed in the exact model number that i wanted. Once i places the order i got a call from Al at *******739. Al asked me to call him back at *******986. He the proceed to try and upcharge me for the tv i had already purchased because even though the model numbers are the same i was "buying an inferior tv to what Best Buy sells that's why there is a big price difference". The tv i already decided to purchase from them is a commercial version and that if i wanted the same as Best Buy has i should have picked the more expensive version on their site. So he then offered me that tv for a few hundred less than Best Buy. No where on the site does it describe any differences between the same model numbers. Very shady and completely unprofessional.
Their website product page said the TV was "in stock" and even said "Want it tomorrow? Choose Next Day Shipping at Checkout." However, after I placed my order I called them to verify it was really in stock and will ship soon. Their rep "Jake" was very shifty, evading answering my questions on item stock and when it will ship. I finally cornered him and he said it will ship w/in one week from a 3rd party warehouse. Within minutes of hanging up, I got an order cancellation email from Jake w/o explanation. Presumably, they figured I was not going to be easy to dupe or string along...
First of all - NO ADDRESS ( SUPER RED FLAG... DIDNT THINK OF IT UNTIL AFTERWARDS)... And when calling salesman immediately works on you to pay a lot more money if you want a non commercial type TV or the non V-chip TV... total bait and switch but still sent me the cheaper one for more money. Anyways... Second of all... The returns phone number which is different than sales phone number belongs to a DIFFERENT company who says they have no connection to ABCTV'S. COM... Third of all... Simply calling and pushing 2 for customer service takes forever for anyone to answer if they do at all, AND then get a run around with no results... Forth of all... Took 13 emails and after doing every little thing these scumbags want they will send you a return label and ask you to pay close to $300 to return. The LG TV I got had a very unclear picture, not sharp at all and lots of flutter. When they say there are 6 bit panels and 10 bit channels ( for more money) take that warning seriously, because it most be true, I must have gotten a 6 bit panel, picture quality was not good at all. WORST BUYING EXPERIENCE EVER!
As indicated by previous reviews. I purchased a TV and later received an email to call them. I was told I had to pay additional cost for the TV "processor." Their business cannot be found on the BBB and no address is provided anywhere.
This place is a complete scam. Positive reviews must be fake. I ordered a TV twice and both times never received it. Worried this is a scam to get my credit card information. After multiple attempts and long waits, got thru to a person with an excuse that did not make sense and a promise of getting ordered started again and will send email. Never received email or TV's. Stay away.
I ordered my TV then 3 days later got an email to call them. The man explained it was a commercial TV and needed "configuring" for residential use. Of course the price was immediately going up over a thousand dollars and more. He would not sell me the TV as is. The ads did not say anything about any additional costs. This site is a waste of time. I'm sure all these positive reviews were paid reviews and fake.
Claims TV I wanted is just a commercial monitor. (Not true) Tried to sell me one $500 more expensive. I called BS!
This is a total scam, they didn't reply to my 5 email requests to clarify why my invoice didn't have my name on it (sent to *******@abctvs.com) when I made contact they said oh it must be in spam.
My theory is that I suspect that this website collects emails passwords and credit cards. The hook is an absurdly low cost on TV's
When I called their local number it was out of order *******067. The 866 number works but you get 3 NYC bro's passing the phone between each other. They clearly don't care to do anything but appear legit. Then they offer to put you on a notice list for the TV when it comes back in stock only asking your name but no contact details.
They were rude have perceivable well rehearsed lines about missing names on my invoice saying it was my browsers cookies.
If you messed up, change your common passwords. Remember to change your credit cards information! AND post a review about your experience so others will be aware that the 5 star reviews are just their attempt at off setting the consistent negative reviews.
YES IT IS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE
FAKE SCAM AVOID THIS COMPANY
Stay away from ABCTV.com it is a scam. Classic bait and switch. Any positive review has to be self generated. Online shows tv in stock for a price. Called to confirm order and was told that model was a commercial tv and had to be "configured" for $1,500 more for residential application. I told them to go ahead and send the commercial version. I was then told that price was not accurate. BAIT AND SWITCH. I filed with FTC. Hopefully the Feds catch these pieces of sh*t and puts them in jail.
Beware. They will tell the TV you ordered is not for sale at the listed price and is not available. Then the price for what you want is raised by 30% or more.
SCAMMERS!
Placed the order, received an invoice. I called after 24 hours 3 days in a row every day many times and nobody picked up the phone. I had to turn the card off to not be charged as I could not get to them to cancel the order. Avoid this scam, and even better to report it as a scam business.
I called about purchasing an 82" Samsung TV. Their online price is $1,000 lower than the next best deal I could find. My Daddy always taught me that if it looks too good to be true, it probably is - so I called the number listed. It took forever to get someone on the phone because it's apparently a one man operation. I asked how he managed to sell at such a low price and his response was that he is a large operation that works on lower margins. BS! His price is WAY BELOW COST. The gentleman wanted me to place my order on line and said it would ship immediately. He said there were two in stock in Edison, NJ and offered free shipping. I offered instead if I could pick it up as Edison isn't that far. He attempted to talk me out of that, stating that if I picked up in NJ that I'd have to pay NJ sales tax. I agreed to pay sales tax and he gave me an address to go to. The address he provided was a vacant lot. That's kinda what I figured! I also suspect that whatever positive five star reviews you see on line, HE POSTED. Buyer Beware. If it looks too good to be true, it probably is.
I placed my order on 9/6. I expected this to ship in a week, so I emailed asking for status. When i didn't get a response i called and kept emailing. They never responded to any of my six emails. They never returned any of my calls/voicemails. I finally reached someone who told me this is shipping direct from the MFR and they will send tracking over ASAP, but never heard anything. I call back, the entire company is shut down for vacation with no way to contact anyone.
I finally reach them today (9/28) and it gets interesting. Nothing had been done with my order after over 3 weeks. He asked me for approval for "the same TV but a different part number", I explained this is unacceptable. I was told that if I wanted the "same TV you would get at Best Buy" that there would be a price increase. Then they started trying to haggle with me, but this was so unscrupulous that I had them just cancel the order out.
I ordered a Tv 12 days ago per their advertisement in the Internet. They send me a confirmation email for model number and my cost, I never got my tv, I emailed them twice and no response, I called and talked to jack and he told me that the TV I had ordered is not residential TV and it is for commercial. I did not believe him what he said, I called to Sony tech support and they told me that they are laying, both of are them the same, ABCTVS is a scam and they lie to the customer, beware and do not buy any product from this site..
I ordered a tv 6 business days ago, I only received an email after the order. So I called them up. Finally got a hold of them (located in Delaware). They said the order has been canceled because we did not get a shipment in, we will call you if and when they come in.
I asked are these TVs and components the same as if I were to buy directly from LG? Answer was Yes.
Poor Communications
#1 Why don't they update their website so that people don't order TVs that are not available. Isn't their a federal trade law about advertising where by the store must keep a certain level of inventory per ad?
#2 Why don't they send their customers and email after 2 days saying that your order cannot be processed, etc?
Great Business Model: We advertise TVs that we do not stock, that you may or may not receive, but there at a at a great price. Don't forget, If your order is canceled we will not inform you. We love customer complaints, phone calls, and bad reviews! Were here to waste your time and chit chat about your order. Have a nice day and shop with us again.
I have been trying to contact this company to arrange someone to stay home for the 5-7day delivery I chose. I ordered on Saturday, it should arrive in 2-3 days at most. After 5 days it still shows processing on the website.
Answer: These items are used and/or returned from customers as defective. It's common to receive a TV from this company that has been used for a year or more.
Answer: It means they will deliver your gray, non residential goods out of the white. Avoid these scammers. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
