I use 800Notes for more than 10 years. This used to be a very good site but not any more. There are some very rude people keep pending and harassing your posts. Special the one, BigA, who can delete my posts, not sure he is a moderator or not. And he is very rude bad English person.

Zero star rating, after years of submissions
December 11, 2021

I have posted various unwanted calls at 800notes.com, for years. Recently, I have been receiving a rash of unwanted calls - approximately 10 per day - and I've been posting each number religiously at 800notes.com. I was taking my own time to try to help others like myself who really dislike junk/SPAM/phishing/unwanted calls. I never answer the unwanted calls I receive, and usually there is no message left. Never in all of the years of my posts, have I ever had a problem with anyone at 800notes. Next thing I know, as is mentioned over and over here at sitejabber.com, other "regulars" on the 800notes.com site (BigA, MikeHuntleton, and Gunnar) attack me shut off my posts with "post pending moderator approval", and say I'm posting garbage, "you are not reporting anything we didn't already know before you posted", "When a Troll crawls out from beneath a bridge they often become belligerent. No big deal, we know how to deal with them.", etc. Unwanted numbers calling me, approximately 10 per day now, were not listed on 800notes.com - so my posts were in fact reporting something users of 800notes.com did not previously know. How can I report who the caller is, what they said, etc., when I never answer an unwanted call? I now expect I will never post another unwanted call again st 800notes.com, which is exactly what BigA, MikeHuntleton, and Gunnar desire - and users of 800notes.com will not benefit from additional data I would post there. BigA, MikeHuntleton, and Gunnar, and others = they use 800notes.com as their Facebook substitute - and parade around with "big power" there. Adios! I'll do what I can to bury and wash 800notes.com away by posting the unwanted calls I receive in another MUCH less dramatic unwanted call reporting site. ZERO star vote for 800notes.com, thanks to BigA, MikeHuntleton, and Gunnar. Getting a new IP address is no big trick - see you soon?

Trolls Everywhere
August 23, 2021

It's an okay site to use if you Google a number and they have information. But really... don't even bother posting. There are actually people who have clearly been banished from the rest of the internet (I'm assuming even 4chan) who hang out on there like it's the final stronghold for trolling left on the entirety of the internet. As someone else stated, they can be detected immediately if they have a profile picture. And it's not limited to users, the mods troll as well. I had an incident with reporting a number years ago and the mods were the trolls. I suggested using a call blocking app, which even though that would completely negate the spam calls is apparently not permitted. Most likely that would just about put them out of business. Anyway, so the mod told me to unalive myself. Because of a post on a number site lmao. And they get far more personal and hareful too. Just go and look at their forums. It's the same regular users that clearly just sit on the site all day... like it's Facebook. They really have nothing else to do but criticize and personally attack people for using the site as intended. I feel like it's neckbeards, but who really ever knows with the internet? You know the type though, I'm sure. They always know more, they're always world champions of every subject. Generally just highly annoying individuals that no one else wanted got together and created a site to lure ppl into posting simply so they can troll. Idk who actually owns this site, but if they really wanted to make it successful and encourage people to share what they know or help others, they would have done something to remedy these issues. Instead it seems like a few losers banded together and created a troll utopia so other trolls would like them and they could be the king of their own little realm. No matter how small or useless.

Horrible bullying moderators
May 18, 2021

I have used 800 notes and to a lesser extent, whocallsme for several years since I get about 10-15 telemarketing calls PER DAY. I've tried everything - call blockers switching numbers (which was expensive and didn't help) and one of the tools I use to help find out who is harassing me -AND to help spread info- is the 800notes site. Over the past couple years I have found their moderators to be horrible bullies. They make posters feel bad about the posts and cut into many threads and remove posts that - more likely than not - do have some useful information in them. The bully moderators make the posters feel demeaned and by removing posts that they deem "in violation" of their precious rules or TOS, they actually make sure nobody wants to ever post on that site again. If 800notes and whocallsme were ever to disappear, it would be a tremendous win! There are many many other sites on which to post good information.

I use 800Notes to see if a number I do not recognize is a potential scammer, and to report a scammer when I have actually answered their call. I am sure scammers and telemarkers are upset by this service, but we have the right to tell others who they are. I like to label them on my phone, so when they do call, I ignore them. They do tend to be persistent and change their numbers over and over, so it is never ending job to inform people and to help them keep their money in their own pockets.

Too many trolls (the ones with avatars)
December 1, 2020

They have trolls that work for debt collectors that have posts removed or they senselessly attack innocent posters with antagonistic and juvenile commentary. They even some how get the posts removed.

The trolls either own the site or they site sold out to the trolls like Tyger cat, Kat or Katz, Mikepembleton, Big A, etc... they ones with avatars.

I stopped contributing to this site, the challenged trolls ruined it. Not worth supporting the low class debt collectors, it defeats the purpose of 800 Notes.

Use a different website like who-calledme.com and whocalledme.com

The moderators and their lackeys devote themselves to being nasty to people constantly. You can see them as they comb through posts looking for ways they can interject in a nasty way. If you refute something they say, the post will be deleted. It is not likely this site is actually trying to help anyone, and like a lot of other posts online point out, they are likely involved in scamming themselves. They push away people who are posting good things to prevent scams, which could mean they are involved in the scams themselves. Don't waste your time putting up with the loser moderator lackeys. They have no other ambition in life other than to mess with you.

Last of the Breed

I find it interesting that most of the public information-sharing forums for spam callers have been shut down or otherwise blocked from appearing in Google search results. As I read through some of the reviews if this site I note that many of the negative reviews are written by people who obviously speak english as a second language - which should tell you something.

Great place to post details of telemarketer robo calls, silent calls (no message), or of other unwanted calls. A lot of people are getting tired of relentless unwanted telemarketing calls. This site puts calls into perspective of how many other people are also getting calls from the same caller Id phone number.

Great place to get information
January 4, 2020

One of the best places to get information or give information. Many time no one answers to hello however this place might know who it was. With the help of so many people you see the fact from the fiction however with so much progress the scammers like to ridicule this place. Some scammers spoof the number of non business numbers therefore people find the reason for their home phone number being used therefore its not the only reason for looking up the number therefore it help to know if that silent call was important or unimportant.

Worthless Website
September 23, 2019

This is the most asinine website on the Internet. There's nothing there but contradictory guesswork, stupid inaccuracies, misinformation, and outright lies. Anyone who tries to point some of this out is viciously savaged by a chorus of paranoid know-nothings who insist that every phone number is a scam. It's operated by a rotten bunch of idiots.

800Notes
August 7, 2019

All the bad reviews are probably from scammers who were exposed and had to change their number!
I've had nothing, but a good experience with this site. This is my go to free to use website to look up a caller's info. It's database of scammers, telemarketers, crooked collection agencies and others grows day by day. It's user supported in finding callers who aren't what they say they are! If you have a questionable caller please report the number so others will know! The do not call list isn't very affective as crooks don't obey the law! Report them here on 800Notes so others can see and take appropriate action to avoid questionable callers...

Nothing but EXCELLENCE
March 30, 2019

The 800Notes lets you check what and who the Scammers are and what they're up to doing. I use their site almost every time I get the scam calls. This allows me to block them and for me to also report them for calling me with PHake offers with their Robo-Calls.

Anyone else saying they're stopping honest' businesses and tarnishing their good reputations, perhaps they need to stop their scams and Robo-Calls. They're the scammers.

Compliance agencies.
November 26, 2018

After reviewing the content of this site, I have come to the conclusion that this is a cyber bullying web page, that wants nothing more than to tarnish the names of good quality business's. There is no way to contact them and when you write a review that is unsavory they delete it promptly. I for one find it reprehensible that they have the ability to lay out an opinion but let no one else give opinions of them. This web page does not help and only harms. Someone need to sue these people for unfair business practice and slander.

I love 800 notes! First one of these types of sites I used, & still my go to site to check on telephone numbers, especially telemarketers, debt collectors, scammers, etc. Doesnt force you to put in your info, (like an email, your phone number, etc.) only asks for a first name, (you can use any name) and a description of the call, call type, etc. All info is user submitted, & you can even start a page for a number yourself. They only as for basic info, so its extremely user friendly. Its a well used site, so there is lots of information usually on most numbers. (Like scams, telemarketers, debt collectors, charities, etc.) Ive never seen any type of trolls there, so info is almost always good. While there are many good sites now, 800 notes has been around quite a while & is my favorite, hands down.
I noticed some people talking about badmouthing businesses, & think maybe they are talking about a different site, as Ive never seen anything about businesses. This is simply a site to report scam numbers, telemarketers, etc., not a review site. So Im a bit confused.

Website full of errors
June 18, 2018

800Notes.com is pathetic. It is full of errors and does nothing to correct them. They act like they are trying to help consumers but instead profit off of consumers' misery and make things worse by posting completely untrue information about people and refuse to take it down, even after being provided with proof of its falsity. The good reviews of this website are all done by the owner, not by real people, so don't believe them.

A Useful Forum to Identify Scammers
June 3, 2018

I began using 800Notes when I worked for a business that was victimized by a scammer who lied to us. We reported it to authorities. When I researched the company on 800Notes I found many other businesses were victimized by the same company. I also posted on the forum about my experience and shared advice given to us by authorities about dealing with the company. There was one poster on 800Notes who obviously worked for the scammer. He harassed me and other posters who reported the company. I've never seen where posts supporting the scammer have been removed. People on 800Notes are permitted to post opposing views as long as they don't become abusive toward/threaten other posters.

I was also victimized by a scammer while job searching and began receiving telemarketing calls instead of job opportunities. Through the years, I've received many calls from scammers such as robocalls calling about timeshares and credit cards I don't own. If I don't recognize a phone number, I look it up on 800Notes before answering and it saves me a big headache.

Extremely unfair cyber bullies
May 10, 2018

This site is really hurting my business. There are a group of 4 or 5 people (BigA, TygerKat, TheRealseriously, Slim & more) trashing my business that have never actually went to my business or had anything to do with it besides receiving a marketing mailer I sent out. After reading some other reviews it appears these people are actually attacking all companies and they never even received anything from me they just Troll the website. These people have gone so far as to say I was trying to rob their house while they were away visiting my business. It's like a group of children making up crazy conspiracy theories and whenever I try to respectfully reply to anyone my post never gets posted while all these crazy things being said get posted right away. I have sent several emails to this business with no reply.

There needs to be a lawsuit against this company!
