Honestly, 7 cups is a wonderful place to come and relax and feel welcome. The listeners go through a thorough training process and they are compassionate, caring, and ALWAYS willing to listen.
There is an old saying that goes, "A stranger is only a friend that you haven't met yet." And that's how it feels to be a part of the 7 cups family! No issue is taboo and each person is treated with the respect that they deserve regardless of age, color, or orientation. C'mon. Join the 7 cups family.
Great listeners always available for me and keeps everything super professional. They are patient and good interactive listeners. Asks good questions, gives good comments They are amazing with their words and helped me out a lot. They really cares and wants to help.
Absolutely in love with this community. It's so welcoming and I never run out of rewarding things to do, both as a member and listener. Thank you 7 Cups!
If you need someone to talk to about, well... Whatever, 7cups is great for that, there's a lot of listeners there who'll chat with you about your problem with complete attention.
I have been using the site for 6 years now both as a listener and a member. I will divide my review into three part -
THE GOOD - The intention behind the site to provide emotional support for free to people in distress and encourage volunteer work is brilliant. As a member, when you do find an attentive listener, you can feel awesome. As a listener, you make meaningful connections and get involved.
THE BAD - Since it is free, anyone can come to the site without understanding the fact the both giving and seeking advice here is dangerous. The quality of listeners can be sub par and you have to pick and choose. The listeners who dedicate their time and put honest efforts can burn out easily.
THE UGLY - Members harass listeners sometimes and have to be blocked. Anyone can become a listener so the quality is questionable.
CONCLUSION - Exercise caution and follow site policies and you can make great friends and find support there. It is definitely worth visiting and spending time.
I have been coming to this site on and off for a few years. I recently came back because I missed how helping people on this site made me feel. This site has also helped me as a member going through some of my own issues and reaching out to someone to talk to.
I downloaded this app looking to talk with someone about feeling sad, been hurting. All of the other apps try to get you to spend money constantly. This one is all free. It helps and it doesnt' cost anything.
7 Cups has been there for me a lot of the time. I have been an on and off user for years. They keep updating things and have a new app. People are the salt of the earth. They look out for you. I wish it was easier to use because it can be confusing. Hang in there though and you'll learn and get support.
This site helps you to learn a lot about life. Make you realize that sometimes its okay to be listened, and sometimes you need to listen to others. It makes me being grateful for what I have.
I was going through a hard time, dealing with stress at work, problems with friends, and listeners listened to me and helped me over months. I'm feeling close to my normal self again. Thank you to my Listeners and thank you to the 7 Cups community.
I also like the exercises too. They helped me a lot, especially when I didn't want to talk with anyone.
I joined 7cups since 2017. I joined as both a member and a listener. The community has so many compassionate listeners all around the world. It creates a private platform for everyone to share their stories comfortably. 7cups also provide other useful tools and resources.
I wrote in about some depression I am going through. A few minutes the listener told me they were 16 and had depression. They then asked me if I could pick a different listener because they were identifying too much with my issues. On top of me feeling bad enough to reach out, I now have to worry about how I have triggered A CHILD. Do they not have an age limit or connect adults with adults? It is insanely irresponsible to me. And it is so dangerous for both the child who is the "Listener" and the person who has reached out for help. I would never feel comfortable using this service again. I now feel one hundred times worse.
7 Cups is a useful community, and can really help with problems you're having! I have depression and social anxiety, and the listeners on 7 cups really helped me get through it.
I feel like my mental health gets worse when I attempt to use 7 cups for support/resources. I feel like the moderators and listeners on this app/site stigmatize members. I feel the moderators (some act arrogant/like they know everything, even though they get all information from the internet) will also spew out stigmatizing information on this site (in group chats) and all the information is provided to them from one source it seems. Unfortunately, I had to unlike, unfollow, and unshare 7 cups.
Hi, call me Life. I'm here today to write a review about 7 Cups. For starters, 7 Cups is just. Amazing. Literally. I know because, I have a member AND a listener account on 7 Cups. Listener accounts are trainers and listeners who help you, and listen. Members are registered clients who get help. With tons of features, from individual chats and group chats, to progress tracking and even amazing, helpful listeners! You can also block users if they sexchat, ask your personal/private information, and when they cuss. You can talk about ANYTHING, from breakups and family problems, to dealing with ADHD and other sicknesses. They also have multi-language listeners! They have a friendly bot, called Noni, who will be your first chat when you start, whether member or listener. 7 Cups also have experienced therapists, and they are FREE! This is highly recommended to people who need help. And, it works. :D
Terrible therapist. One of the actual worst. Spoke like an emotionless robot, completely useless. AND THEY WON'T GIVE ME A REFUND!
DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE
You can talk to people here without feeling any judgement or criticizing. I have tried free chat with trained volunteers and its good helps u clear your mind and stabilize yourself. Really a help!
I met wonderful people there. The listeners are really good, it does help. Talking to some people of my age who understand me or sometimes living the same things is amazing I feel less lonely.
Answer: It's a legit company! Definitely not a scam :) In my experience, I've been on as both a listener and member, it's not a scam. We're trained & take courses (as listeners) to best support members. Each listener is different, as is each member, so there may be bad experiences with one listener or vice versa. We have therapists we can ask for advice or refer people to as well.
Answer: I would suggest that any person seeking true authentic assistance NOT visit this site. It is unsafe, damaging and narcissistic and does NOT offer true help or support in any way
Answer: I would imagine that there are many other sites that are BETTER than 7cups
Answer: To send one-on-one messages, you should be able to just click on the text box and type in it. I find it's harder to use on mobile browser so if you're doing that, maybe try switching to desktop. Otherwise, I would just wait a minute or reload the page, it lags sometimes
Answer: You sure can! This is actually a very helpful feature on 7cups
