I am a listener on this site and I must say, this site is a wonderful platform. As a listener, I talk to people, try and help through their problems. But I can also talk to other listeners when I feel like I need to talk to someone. It's a great site if you want to share your problems and concerns and remain anonymous at the same time. I would 100% recommend this site.
This is a great app for helping other people, and listening too! You can really heal yourself here and take advice from really great and kind people! And you can really work on yourself by practicing being a listener.
7 cups is a community of lovely individuals who are driven to aid and support others. There are several trainings and learning opportunities inbuilt in the app. These trainings are quality ones and help us grow as listeners and equips listeners to provide amazing support session to all members. I have learnt a lot here and also gained support from fellow members whenever I needed help simply amazing!
There is little or no support for listeners and even though we have the ability to block ppl it does absolutely nothing.
In fact all it does is make them more determined to annoy other listeners and the only support that is offerd is a peer supporter.
The badges look pretty but mean absolutely nothing and yet ppl use them as power to mock or be little other listeners.
The bigwigs are all neo natzis and if u dare question them they make u fell like $#*!.
I have used 7 cups for 2 years now. I have had some really great listeners to talk to, but each time I have tried their community chats it sucked. There was a man who messaged that he was thinking of killing himself and no one even listened or replied out of 16 people except me. They were busy talking about cats than attempting to help someone in a crisis. As for myself I have tried 3 time to talk about my issue to the community because I wanted help form others that aren't a listener. Not one single person said anything, it was like I was invisible and it upset me because I finally built the courage to type it out then I was ignored.
Truly rewarding experience as a Listener. And they are constantly improving training with many courses to improve expertise. Great support for Listeners too.
Wonderful place to work. Experience is very good also if you already have a background in psychology etc. Nothing better than helping others.
A great site for people who are seeking emotional support from someone who is willing to take the time to listen. However, there are some listeners and members who say inappropriate things whom i call the internet trolls. I guess it shows how open and inclusive this website really is.
The training modules that listeners are required to complete is informative and seems professional.
Overall, great experience as a listener and has helped me become a more compassionate person. I would really like to see this website grow and become better by monitoring volunteer listeners and providing required training modules on a regular basis to maintain standards.
This site is super awesome and I find it very helpful. I like that we can switch from listener to member. Definitely worth checking out if you need some extra emotional support
7cups has been very beneficial for me. The Professional Therapy is top class, you can choose your own Psychologist to meet with, and you can also chat for free with Trained Listeners. The website offers support for different kind of person and their conditions, conversations become meaningful and can help us realize things, or at least feel heard and supported.
Overall the app is well built, its easy to use and its supporting a great cause. Either by using it or becoming a listener it makes a difference. I hope this gets out to everyone who needs it.
I have attempted to use this website for free therapy and their internship program as a listener twice in the past. It was too demanding. I was not into it. I was going through a tough time in my life at the time. I am once again using it to build up my skills so that I can use it on resume and in my cover letters. I am trying to stick to it this time and get as much use out it as possible.
They try there best and there site is much easier to use
And strictly proffessional with a much comprehension
I'm really grateful for this website. I often feel down and am currently not in the best mental state. However, I don't have the most supportive parents to talk to, so whenever I'm upset, or need desperate help, I go onto this website and am able to feel welcome with people I don't even know. This website has so many features, and it's a great place to go onto when I need someone.
7 cups has helped me alot! Being able to talk to strangers that dont judge and try their best to support you is really helpful! I wish it was easier to join a groupchat though.
I've been a Listener off & on for the past 2 years & the 7 Cups community is incredible! If you need someone to talk to about a lot of different topics don't hesitate to download 7 Cups!
7 cups made me realise of the problems people face in real life. A good reality call that made me realise how insignificant my problems could be and how i could i help people and make their days better by just listening. I don't know about others, but i make sure to hear people with whatever problems they present.
I'm a listener at 7 cups and I'm giving it a 3 star rating for the following reasons.
Pros: It is a free help resource with active listeners 24/7 for people to talk to about their anxieties and problems. There are also free programs listeners can take to enhance their listening skills. This platform has the potential to grow and do a lot of good. There is also paid therapy as an option but I do not know of the quality of the professional therapists.
Cons: It is a bit too easy to become a listener. I feel the verified and quality listening tracks should be mandatory rather than optional.
The anonymity factor creates potential opportunities for trolls (esp. Sexual predators and trolls who make up a story and then use the listener for their own gratification), with not much way to blacklist and prevent them from creating multiple accounts and repeating the same thing. I have also encountered members who have met abusive or unresponsive listeners who are judgemental to their problems and or too generic in their responses. You can also read about such experiences in the lesser starred reviews. Also I feel listeners should be at least be 21 and above.
I found 7cups while searching for a therapist near me. I had searched for help for depression before and nothing I had found that actually helped me. But finding 7cups was different. When I joined the 7cups community, I felt appreciated and cared for like never before in my life. I felt like my life suddenly got a whole new meaning. I think the best part of being a listener in 7cups is that you realise that everyone in the world has lot of Things in common, no matter how different we seem to be. The next best thing, is the people you meet on 7cups, they might not necessarily be in your life for long, but they are soo incredible that you never forget meeting them. I can never be grateful enough to 7cups for every good thing it has brought in my life.
I've used 7 cups a couple of years ago and loved it. I've had to get back to it because of everything that has been happening in the world and personal stressors/anxieties. The listeners are great and very compassionate. The groups are even better. I always come here when I'm feeling down, depressed, angry... whatever emotions I'm feeling, I know I can come here and be validated.
Loved it! It is a source for relief to tired people, and provide great care with ethical code and clear moral values.
Answer: It's a legit company! Definitely not a scam :) In my experience, I've been on as both a listener and member, it's not a scam. We're trained & take courses (as listeners) to best support members. Each listener is different, as is each member, so there may be bad experiences with one listener or vice versa. We have therapists we can ask for advice or refer people to as well.
Answer: I would suggest that any person seeking true authentic assistance NOT visit this site. It is unsafe, damaging and narcissistic and does NOT offer true help or support in any way
Answer: I would imagine that there are many other sites that are BETTER than 7cups
Answer: To send one-on-one messages, you should be able to just click on the text box and type in it. I find it's harder to use on mobile browser so if you're doing that, maybe try switching to desktop. Otherwise, I would just wait a minute or reload the page, it lags sometimes
Answer: You sure can! This is actually a very helpful feature on 7cups
