I was broken when I first came on this site. It helped me to stand back up and move forward and now I am helping others.
I have gone to 7cups recently, I thought I could share and discuss few of my personal things which has been going on. I was able to get in touch with listener caringHeart8929. It was a nice talk and the listener listened to me patiently which is appreciable. It was a nice experience as of now and I am looking forward for further discussion when I feel the need.
Despite the way that some people think about 7Cups, whether about it's old reputation or the way the paid staff work, it's still an entirely helpful place to get some friendly support! Many willing listeners, including myself, are happy to take chats wherever possible to help you get through harder times in your life. We may not be counsellors, but we are trained to listen, ask relevant questions, provide support and even long term guidance and support to those who seek it!
Yes, sure, sometimes you're not going to get the upmost quality, or sometimes things go a tad wrong, but that's how it is on these large sites! If you were to get a listener who is not suited to you, you can always re-join the queue for someone new, or jump onto the browsing page to find someone more suited.
It's a varied website, with a range of listeners and members, who bring many skills and types of support to the plate, even if you're not looking for a 1-1, you can unlock the groups and make some friends.
This site could be fantastic.
Its however run by complete morons. If u dare to dissagree u are banned for no other reason other then having your own opinion.
I was a listener as a member but found it very differcult to put up with the constant abuse by the members who use the site and by the other listeners who are suposed to be support you.
When u join ur given a quick brief questionaire on How to be a good listener then asked questions however this is dumb because if the colour goes red you have the choice to pick again until u get it right.
Listeners are contant getting abused by members and there is no actual support set up to deal with this situation. Chat supporters and members are just volunteers and seldom available and when they are available the only advice u recieve is oh well just screenshot and send to admin. This dosnt work either because by then theyve created another account and started abusing someone else.
This happends everyday sometimes more then twice. Its so frustrating when all u want to do is help support some in need but ur not given safe options to get out of it when it turns to $#*!.
All they care about is the money and the members.
Only desperation made me look for help online. I reluctantly opened up to a "listener" whose kindness, perception and strength of encouragement gave me strength. I could hardly believe how much I needed it all and what a relief it was to hear, and to have someone hear me. Thank you, thank you. I hope someone who hears the relief in this little review will try 7 cups too.
7 Cups has been very helpful to me. I struggle with general anxiety, social anxiety, depression, and ADHD and when I really need to talk to someone and receive compassion, I go to 7 Cups. I have not had a bad experience with listeners so far, though I do know that has happened to some people. Personally, every listener I've had a conversation with has been supportive and I always walk away feeling better. The forums are very friendly and accepting of new people. It's a website I feel comfortable on.
Super if you want to find yourself super if you want to find yourself super if you want to find yourself
The site 7cups has been really helpful for me when I need someone to talk with about my personal problems, including both relationship and mental health issues. I really like the approach volunteer listeners on this site take. They provide a space for other people to share their unique voices/experiences, and I've really benefited personally. Thank you for the help!
I love the app... it helps me connect and help people all across the world. There's nothing that makes me feel better other than peoples blessings and love. It helps me make the world a better place one day at a time
So amazing its a must-have i really enjoyed the fact that anytime i need theres licensed therapists and group chat so i always have access to the help i need
What a scientifically designed site, helping everyone to find solutions, for their serious issues, stopping them!
I love this app and community i found it when i was going thru the darkest of times and its allowed to me to not only connect with others who can share in the same experciences but also im able to help them as im helping myself
I honestly love 7 cups and how this community is so friendly. The listeners here were so friendly and helping others out really makes me really happyy. When I heard that they feel better and how I made their day, just melts my heart. :)
This is an amazing free service, with a beautiful, helpful and supportive community for mental health needs.
7 cups will talk and behave very supportive but everyone there I've encountered are fearful or very on edge about how they appear.
You will feel as if you are safe and heard on the site until you can no longer be heard, as in they will ban you so that the members on the site which can also be listeners cannot know what you've experienced or what the site doesn't want you to know. You can also be in the middle of talking to an admin or a listener on the site and suddenly you're account is banned out of the blue.
Very helpful site. I really like their concept of providing emotional support to those who need it. It is a very supportive community that can help you grow as a person.
My time spent on the site suggests that most of the people are mostly concerned more with their badges and profile stats, rather than actually helping people. It seems there are lots of passive users on this site, and I don't believe any of them understand the concept of professionalism. Having been overwhelmed with a lot of things and trying to seek support, I chose to connect with a listener, and the guy who accepted the chat just questioned everything and made the situation more overwhelming for me. I could see that he didn't want to accept my chat, judging by the way he spelled out his responses and the way he literally called me, "dude.". Surely this qualifies as professionalism, right? He really made me feel overwhelmed so much that I had a breakdown for nearly an hour. He's username is VicK5123. You will find lots of people like this on the site who will contribute to your mental health issues. They need to be banned from such sites and I wish admins did their job for real.
Whenever i felt low i talked here with people. Even as a listener i discussed with their problems and their blessings are all for me.
I've been on 7cups for a while now and I have to say that it's a bit of a hidden gem on the internet. I was a bit conflicted about writing this review, as part of me wants to keep it that way. For those who aren't familiar with the site: there are two types of individuals on the site, members (who vent to listeners about their problems) and listeners (who use active listening skills to be there for members). My experience in both roles has been good for the most part. As a member, I've found the group discussions to be quite interesting - there are regular cliques of people who you can find in each of the rooms, so if you keep coming back to the site, you eventually can build a rapport/friendships with the "regulars" (which is pretty cool). As a listener, I have gotten to help people from many different walks of life. The main reason I'm not giving the app five stars is because I disagree with the site's belief that listeners shouldn't be allowed to give advice to members. I think at times, it's crucial to see things from a different perspective (we all have blind spots, don't we), and that's when advice can come into play. Also, as enjoyable as the group chats are, I have found that they can turn inappropriate at times, despite the increase in moderation over the past few years. Finally, it can frustrating to see people who have essentially been blacklisted from the community return several months later with little to no repercussions. Overall though, I would say this app is certainly worth downloading.
7 Cups is an amazing website that is dedicated to helping people overcome their struggles. Having a broad range of categories including in mental health and disabilities, people have the ability to talk about their struggles with listeners who help relieve their stress and worries all through a 1-on-1 or group chat! It's amazing how simple yet powerful the concept of this website is/. I definitely recommend you to sign up as a member and chat with listeners or become a listener like me. It truly is a wonderful experience to support people who are struggling and make their lives fill with value just from a chat conversation.
Answer: It's a legit company! Definitely not a scam :) In my experience, I've been on as both a listener and member, it's not a scam. We're trained & take courses (as listeners) to best support members. Each listener is different, as is each member, so there may be bad experiences with one listener or vice versa. We have therapists we can ask for advice or refer people to as well.
Answer: I would suggest that any person seeking true authentic assistance NOT visit this site. It is unsafe, damaging and narcissistic and does NOT offer true help or support in any way
Answer: I would imagine that there are many other sites that are BETTER than 7cups
Answer: To send one-on-one messages, you should be able to just click on the text box and type in it. I find it's harder to use on mobile browser so if you're doing that, maybe try switching to desktop. Otherwise, I would just wait a minute or reload the page, it lags sometimes
Answer: You sure can! This is actually a very helpful feature on 7cups
