I love having a local camera store in brick &mortar places, and this family-owned business is such a great resource. Well-stocked, with competitive prices for equipment and great options like Canon Cinema rentals and discounts for bigger purchases. I bought me the upgrade consumer camcorder I wanted as a surprise this year, and Jonathan was ready to help me pull it off in-store. I've bought multiple used lenses here also, and they have been in great condition and have become some of my go-to's. Knowledgeable, helpful staff, great advice and opportunities for in-store and photography education help make this a favourite local business and must-visit for professionals and hobbyists.

Dynamic range of the Leica cameras defined by the traditional beautiful build concept. Thanks to James I became the proud owner of an absolutely beautiful piece of optical engineering-Leica M-d 262 that I plan on making companion in my grave. Only had one issue with some metering system because of the inaccurate display... they're prone to errors. Went back and after taking a look at the problem he actually replaced the camera back with one that was in even better condition. I've purchased numerous cameras and darkroom equipment since.

I bought a 90D as a gift for my girlfriend who was using the Rebel T6 and in dire urgency of an upgrade. She was blown away. Although I'm not the ultimate possessor, talk about bang for your buck! Highest megapixel sensor, tracking, 4K, etc... gorgeous. With little tweaks to the focus system, shots are CRISP!. The settings and controls are super easy to use, haven't been able to use the video aspect of the camera yet but it has great specs so Im sure itll be great. It's a great range which removes the need to switch to anything else, unless you need to put a prime on for a extreme need. It's compatible with a ton of Canon lenses.

Rang up 42nd Photo for advice on the best corporate conferencing camera. We hunted a cost-effective solution for virtual and visual collaboration to make company affairs easier due to Covid-19. We ordered the Meeting Owl w/ 720p, as it is a great option for huddle spaces or compact rooms.
It was easy to set up with Zoom conferencing and has made our remote meetings much more professional. Not only does it look elegant on our boardroom settings, it runs like a a well-oiled machine. It's also a great option for teams looking for a more cost-effective option. 42nd Photo had Meeting Owl Pro w/ a 1080p output resolution. This option will fill the bill for larger rooms.

I am new to sunrise & sunset landscape imaging. I rang them up to recommend the best camera & features. We had a lengthy but fruitful conversation that led to the purchase of a Nikon D850. Next day, I show up and there is a beautiful sunrise sunset. Jonathan showed me how to tinker the settings to ensnare spectacular photos. Today I take out my Nikon D 850 and mount it on a tripod. I have a winning combination of lenses too... 24-70mm 2.8 70-200mm 2.8 and a 105mm 1.4.Be aware that physical filters used on your camera will degrade image quality. I manual focus and as luck would have it I push down the shutter and get lucky image thanks to the D850. I thank Jonathan for recommending the camera as its good for astrophotography too. I will give my future business to 42ND Photo, Manhattan.

I've purchased soft boxes, umbrellas, light modifiers, and other studio lighting equipment from here. The products are well-built and competitively priced compared with overpriced name brands. The staff are friendly and helpful, steering me away from products that may not be well-suited to the type of photography I do.
The best customer service I have had ANYWHERE EVER! And they sell great Canon knock offs such as hot shoe flashes, lenses and batteries at vastly cheaper prices. All work better than the Canon brands I had before.
Highly recommended.

Jonathan sold a HC-V770 Camcorder to my wife. Great little camera that packs the punch in a minimal footprint. The features are top-quality, well-built, and intuitive operability. My wife uses it for church recording, decent and lightweight, fits snugly into a small bag with it's essentials. On business days, I've used it for streaming through HDMI to improve webcam, recording company meeting, and much more. Very versatile and expensive prosumer camcorders. Thanks *******@42nd photo.

I have flown a number of amateur photo/video drones in the past and just decided to upgrade with a Mavic Pro 2. I went to 42nd Photo, this is my favourite store so far. The purchase and delivery was flawless, I had the drone in my hands within 48 hours. Flying out of the box was a breeze. I had no issues synchronizing with the remote controller and using the app/phone, controller, and drone to all networks on the first try. Flying is a no-brainer with some experience. Highly recommend new users to toggle beginner mode on until you feel much more agile flying in all direction in all drone orientations. The aerial lens is the icing on the cake. Picture quality is absolutely superb and am looking forward to seeing just how much better the photos are compared to my older drones. Having used multiple of DJIs products, the Mavic 2 Pro is my favourite. It handles extremely well and is much more responsive then the larger Inspire models. It also has great flight time on each battery.

I bought the Trijicon 3-9x40 Riflescope to be used on a field hunting firearm. I have no perfect gunsmith skills but Jonathan at 42photo made the installation a piece of cake. Let me say, the sharpness on this scope is superb. I've tried various Vortex, Steiner, Canon, and Leica scopes but this beats them all. The Zeiss HD5 glass clarity pales in comparison to the Trijicon and it feels more ergonomic-friendly, stabilized. The illuminated reticle is helpful when zeroing in a target in the dark such as a combatant or animal. 42nd Photo has the best prices hands down. I combed the Internet and went to two optics shops in Dakota and could not find a better price. Get this scope and you will not be disappointed.

My purchase was for a present for my granddaughter on the occasion of her 22nd birthday. She has since developed a successful photographic business, which even includes five scheduled photo shoots just this coming Sunday. The lens which I purchased from 42nd Street Photo was delivered with unexpected promptness, and the item has performed flawlessly since put into service. Should I have occasion to order any additional photographic equipment for myself or as gifts, 42nd Street Photo would be my first choice as vendor.,.
