There are very few actual creative designers on this site. You will know them by their very original works. Then you will see tons of folks who wouldn't have an original idea if it slapped them in the face come behind you and take your logo, or bits and pieces of your logo and create "their own?" work from yours!

Reporting the issue does no good because there is "just enough" variation that mycroburst claims the other concept to be original when everyone under the sun can see the copy! They didn't come up with an original idea, they reworked YOUR original idea and called it their own.

Many designs are not original created works either, but rather images that have been vectorized and predominantly those images are "lifted" from the internet with no credit to the photographer or artist to whom they belong!

I'm about to be done with them until and unless they implement blind contests! This way Project Holders can see where original, unique and creative ideas are and where copiers have no clue since they can't copy anymore!

Well my original review was when I was new to the website, but unfortunately from my aspect, it took a turn for the worst. The one thing that pisses me off beyond belief is other designers accusing you of stealing others' work, but you didn't. This has happened to me at least 10 times, but I always keep my work original. When the project holder sees comments on the contest like this, they immediately void any other concepts you created, fearing that it is stolen.

Another thing is that no matter how hard you work at bringing the best design you can make, ultimately only one can be chosen. You wouldn't go to a restaurant or bar, order many different things off the menu and only pay for the one you like, that's ridiculous, but it is also how many websites, like Mycroburst, operates. They have included a "Donate" option so the project holder can donate a pre-set amount of money to designers they think have earned it. This is a good idea, but is rarely used. Probably because every designer that contributes is worthy of feel of compensation, but the project holder can donate that amount of money to every designer in their contest, that would cost them way to much money.

If you ask me, your better off on hiring a freelance designer or Graphic Design Company to do your work. They are much more driven to create exactly what you want and are for more qualified to do your work than someone you barley have contact with.

The key point to take away from this rant is if you need Graphic Design done, use a freelance designer, like myself, to do your work.

I started out on this site thinking it was great. Lots of contests, easy to find and the layout was amatuerish but workable. I won a few contests and began noticing that Mycroburst.com ( a GURU company) was catering to only the project holder and their demands.

Copyright violations, and infringement are rampant on the site with Mycroburst allowing it as long as they are not held responsible.

In one contest I submitted, the project holder actually requested other designers create more drafts based off of my design.

Mycroburst prides themselves on their one-sided rules.

[rules]
Project Discussion Guidelines:
1. Please do not ask Project holder to look at your designs.
2. Please do not post external links to your designs.
3. Please always be polite and respectful to Project holders and designers.
4. Please do not copy designs/concepts. In case of any dispute, let us know at *******@mycroburst.com.
[/rules]

I did as they instructed. I reported for people copying my concept, and the project holder for doing this. When reported, Mycroburst acknowledged that this had happened and urged me to submit more drafts ignoring their own rules in favor of making money.

We would suggest you to work on options which the Project Holder is leaning towards; a combination of your concept and what he is looking for.
Thank you for your support.

Mycroburst clearly does not know what COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT is! Perhaps they should learn, I know my lawyer will make sure of it!

Copyright infringement is the unauthorized or prohibited use of works under copyright, infringing the copyright holder's exclusive rights, such as the right to reproduce or perform the copyrighted work, or to make derivative works.

Summary: I would avoid using this site, and use 99designs instead.

There are boastful admins who are unfairly treating project holders and designers, if they want to respect them, they should respect others first, they are offending people. They where just doing what they want and they don't care about anybody. They are too boastful because they know they have the power to remove and reinstall designs. There is also a blog I have read that mycroburst doesn't listen. I don't know if this is true, but if they keep doing this, more complaints will come into their way.

The site is a good idea. I have yet to win a contest though. There are so many designers that it is HARD to win. I agree with the other review that project holders should be required to give more feedback. I spend time doing designs and never get any feedback. How do I know if I am going in the right direction? It is hard to know without feedback..

A decent website: I've used them for a few months, and have won a few design projects. You need to fill out a W-9 form upon winning a project. It can suck for designers to put a lot of effort into a project and then lose, but otherwise it's pretty good just for a resume builder site. If you're looking to post a project and buy a logo, make sure you leave comments and star ratings, other wise you'll piss off designers and no one will post drafts for you. Also, projects not guaranteed and under $200 will rarely get quality designs, but it depends on your involvement.
