This site uses all the tricks to extract your information, and you can't delete it, they retain your information for their "files". I would rather spend my time cooking than passing all their hurdles just to look something up. Horrible site.
Asked me soooo many questions I left before seeing a recipe. Let me go through and pick without 20 questions. 1 or two, cool. Questions that didn't matter and I couldn't get it to stop!
Didn't realize they would be flooding my inbox with emails. Guess I thought it would be more like a cookbook sitting on the shelf ready to use when, and if, I have some time to try a new recipe. In trying to unsubscribe from the emails, I was sent round and round. Don't think I was successful in reducing the correspondence, now I just want out of the whole thing. Twelve emails in three weeks? No thanks!
This site should be taken out of Google's index. It tempts you in, then won't show you a recipe unless you sign up using a social media account. Get lost! There are way better sites out there that actually let you see their recipes when you wish.
Yummly tries to force you to use its app. I don't know when this started but I used to use it all the time for recipes. But now, when you go to a recipe, thr site redirects you to a page that supposedly gives you the option to use its app or yummly.com. This is a ruse. Because you cannot look at the recipe more than 3 seconds when it redirects you to the page that is trying to make you download the app. So you can't use them anymore.
You can't even view recipes without downloading their app, even after clicking on the option to open in your mobile browser. Not going to try to use them again. Ill find something else
You can't even look at this website without submitting personal information via Google, FB or email. Not a fan and I won't do it. If I looked at the website and found it beneficial, I might create an account, but to force you to do so is absurd.
Answer: Hi Kari, I'm sorry you have had a negative experience with Yummly so far. We are directing users to download the Yummly iPad app because it is the best Yummly experience, and more user friendly than our mobile website. If you do not want the app, you can go to yummly.com, then tap the menu bar and sign in to your Yummly account. Once signed in, you will not see that pop up any longer and can use the mobile website. Best, Shelley
