I transferred money to funeral expenses and services of my aunt on Nov 14,2019 till today 12/6/2019 Family not get the money yet. The money is holding for the Xe's teams to consider to release the money to the recipient or not. Xe sent e-mail to me "pending authorization" to release the money but never call or SMS to me. I did not check my e-mail therefore the Xe is continuing to hold the money until my family called and told me that "we never receive your money" I called Xe Company. They will under consideration of my request and will notify me by e-mail. Ask for money back. They say "NO". "Please waiting for us to notify you by e-mail" per Xe's rep.
Do NOT USE The Xe Company, they are scarm company.
Want to give NO STAR, unfortunately there is NONE
Extremely poor customer service. I opened an account with XE.com on 29th Sep'19 and had uploaded my ID for verification. After the week the status of verification didn't change. I wanted to transfer 5000 euros to my friend in USA, but was unable to do so as my account is still under review. I wrote to XE multiple times and but was either getting not getting a response on getting one on an average after 2 days after my emails or after multiple followups.
I had provided all the necessary ID documents as asked for and the today I receive an email to submit the same ID documents again. This is absolutely rubbish customer service. I have now decided to go to the bank day after tomorrow to enable this transfer. Avoid XE for money transfer, especially when you need to do it urgently.
I used this organisation with confidence, changine Sterling to Euros without problems except for the lack of response from XE when I needed information.
The BIG NO-NO comes when you want to change your EUROS back to STERLING!
It took me multiple messages and weeks for a response to arrive say that they do NOT do currency exchange in the opposite direction. Not a lot of use to me and XE took great care not to let me know that the service was only ONE-WAY.
The result has been a significant monetary loss because of their refusal to reply combined with the rapid change in exchange rates during their deliberate (?) delay time.
Not efficient and unbelievably unhelpful.
Please be aware that this is the Catch 22 with XE.- I had to search for a different and reliable agency with a suitable branch bank in Paris (Barclay with no charges) but it was too late to prevent a 12% loss not to mention collapse of two new house purchase chains.
Tried to make a transfer and went through all the regulatory and security stuff. Pressed confirm button including 6 digit verification code, which said it was OK. Watched a spinning wheel for 10 minutes, so had to give up and hope it went through. It didn't. Rang customer services -usual trashy music and 'we'll be with you shortly' assurances. Result -a pissed off client and XE finally saying try again later. Not resolved. POOR
£55 fees deducted off a £125 transfer. Have you ever heard such nonsense. Could have used any other company and only paid £2.99. They are looking into this and might pay some back as gesture.
I see I'm not the only one who has had trouble with this company.
Similarly to other reviewers, I tried to make a transfer with these guys from my account in the US to my account in Spain.
I tried making the transfer online but I couldn't comlete it with the information they had given me.
Soon after I received the same message other people received: they told me that they were going to cancel my transaction and charge me close out costs.
I called customer support. After a 20 minute wait for them to pick up the call, they couldn't help me, they said that those details were valid and had been working for all customers. After several harassing emails, they proceeded to cancel my transaction and charge me 90 euros.
I would think that maybe it was my problem because I didn't know how to make the transfer online, but seeing the other reviews I see they always manage to come up with a way to cancel transfers and charge close out costs.
Definitely never use it and stick to transferwise or xoom
I started the procedure to make an international money transfer (all within the EU zone, but different currencies) and decided to pull back a day after "accepting" the conditions. I never got to transferring the money to them because I found out my bank would charge me a lot, and I keep receiving emails from XE saying that my transfer is overdue and that if I don't make it, i will have to pay some fees... I am trying to cancel it without having to pay them anything at all... does anyone know how to do this? HELP PLEASE
I signed up for their service so that I could transfer money from my US bank to my Colombian bank. After signing up and transferring my money, the next day, this is the email I received from them:
"Thank you for being a client with XE Online Money Services. Unfortunately, we are unable to assist you with your current transaction and the contract has been cancelled. To ensure you receive your funds back the quickest way possible, please contact your bank and request their assistance in recalling the funds. We are not able to return the funds back to you without their assistance.
In addition your account will be closed."
No explanation. They didn't tell me which bank I was supposed to contact. These guys are a class act. They basically held onto my money without giving me any explanation as to how I can get it back. AVOID THESE GUYS. THEY ARE A SCAM.
I'm surprised they've been able to stay in business this long. I will be taking my business and going to XOOM, which is far more reliable and professional.
Such is life. I guess this is one of the few exceptions where a Canadian company sucks way more than an American one.
This company is more like a currency exchange than a money transfer service. A cryptocurrency exchange. If you review their terms of service, they call transfers "trades".
Also, unlike transfer services such as Transferwise or Xoom they hold your money for at least 7 days regardless of whether you canceled your transfer the same day as initiating it. They even deducted one transfer from my account when I cancelled it prior to the date it was meant to go out so cancelling doesn't matter to them, they're taking your money and holding it for 7 days no matter what.
They also charge large fees for cancellations claiming you're paying for their losses, liabilities, etc. And they bind you with a contract tied to their terms of service to enforce it at will.
Use a different service. Something is very sketchy about this one.
These people are scam artists. After cancelling the transaction, I checked my online account only to see that they taken out $3700 from my account. Why do you take the money if the transaction is already cancelled? They are scam artists. They tell me to ask my bank for a recall. And my banks says they can not recall an ACH transfer. Obviously they already know that. Another scam tactic. I have talked to my lawyer and a fraud investigation will be opened against them. Never use these scam artists.
They took money from bank account on Monday.
Tuesday they couldn't proceed with a transfer with no reason.
Same day I provided all document to support my transfer.
Thursday they sent me email stated that they could not verify the info and my account is closed.
Upon speaking with representative they offer me to go to my bank and recall ACH transfer. After speaking with bank representative I was told that there is no way to recall ACH transfer from my bank and its something has to be done from their end.
After telling them that I will open fraud investigation they were able to issue a refund.
Bottom line never again.
Customer service representative Erika was helpful though!
Too many questions associated with "investigations" for a simple money transfer to family.
XE person asked why my daughter has not changed her Chinese family name to husbands name who has European family name. I found it as racial harassment. There have been many other stupid hale storm of questions from XE. It looks like they are bored and like to know the hole life story and CV for each simple money transfer.
They'd take your money and never return it. I still have my £4,000 with them for over 2 months now and they're not even talking about sending my money to the destination neither are they refunding back my money. You'd call them till you get tired. To top it all, they deleted my account. Don't use XE. I repeat, don't use XE MONEY TRANSFER
DO NOT USE THEM. I was a former HIFX customer and I thought that using XE would be fine after they took over. I was wrong. They couldn't make a simple transfer to China using IBAN/SWIFT. Wasted pretty much a week and lost money to convert it back to USD. Viash Sreemuntoo was the corporate trader I dealt with and he was not helpful whatsoever.
All i can say is wow. These guys give you bank account numbers to transfer money into that don't exist at the bank (called them and asked) then you email them (as the local branch that you try to call is closed!) and no one else will help you in any country, they just tell you to call back tomorrow when they are open. So you can't get any replies, we tried to cancel it same day and now they get back to us 3 days later via email saying why can't you do this, you owe us these fee's in lost funds, the dollar went down since then so they haven't lost crap. They have gained! And if there customer service was up to scratch, this could of been settled same night we did it! You call any other money transfer service like OFX and they answer and help you no matter what country your in! Such unprofessional run business! Should of taken notice of the reviews instead of thinking with my head with the slighly higher rates. I highly recommend not to use these guys
This service is good only when everything is going smoothly. As soon as you hit a problem (e.g. Goods not being delivered, contract not being honoured!) do not rely on XE to recoup your money if you made an international payment and you ask for a refund more than 10 days after your payment was made. If the international payment is made by credit / debit card or through a normal bank transfer, it would not be a problem to recall the payment. But not with XE. The staff is unsympathetic and some of them quite rude and you could be in a situation where you could never get your money back, just due to them. They are blaming all on Bank of America (which apparently is behind the XE transfers) however XE are responsible for the transfer and they should respect the financial regulations and try to help.
They took my money then started to interrogate me like they were nazis. Wanted to know what my money was being used for. Then when I said I'd cancel transaction was told I couldn't as it was being investigated and if they cancelled I would pay charges. All other companies I've used have refunded me in full. I hope they are not scammers themselves
I opened an account with intentions to move real state funds from US to Europe, before I was able to do y first transaction my account was frozen - 'unable to transfer money' with the label of being 'high risk' - they will not tell me why;
I have good credit and no 'risk' as far as I know - and is irritating to think they migh know something that is 'high risk' which I could take care of - but they keep it away from me... anyways, I was a little reassuring after I read how many bad reviews they already have, figured I add on more!.
Do Not Use This App/Service - I do not send money overseas often but XE popped up as an option when looking to send my parents a Christmas present and most of the reviews spoke highly of the experience. While they don't charge fees there is no guarantee that the money will make it to the intended recipient and no way for them to track the money down once it "disappears". I've been waiting 3 months for my money to arrive and no one at XE can tell me where it is or when it'll surface. Next time I'll pay the bank fees and sleep easy.
The customer support is responsive and they're generally very helpful, useless but helpful.
So i set up an account and made a transfer. AFETR i made it, the company demanded all kinds of invasive and irrelevant information from me like my career history. Obviously i refused and they blocked the transaction and stole my money.
AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE.
Answer: Be careful they just did this to me. I was expecting a deposit into my xe account. I got text message to confirm deposit, then numerous emails and calls to make deals, then they tell me once I accepted, that the funds weren't mine, and that they accidentally deposited someone else's funds into my account. I sent the converted equivalent back to them so now the other customer has all of their money back, but they want the difference in conversion to make their own greedy profit, and have threatened debt collection agency onto me.
Answer: After reading all the horrible reviews it looks like they are a SCAM! You should go to the FBI and other authorities they need to be investigated for the SCAM they are. You should go to the media to try and get your money back. So sorry for your situation!
Answer: Yes, xe.com, answer this guy's question and tell everybody here what you told me! And please give me my money back!
Answer: They took money from my account on January 12th, 2018. Now it is January 26th, 2018, and they still did not give me my money back.
