The negative reviews are very correct. This company is a hoax and a cheat. They debit money from account and then close your account without any reason even if you provide all documentation as per their need.
Warning: Do not fall for this company ever.

I wish I would have read all of the reviews before trusting XE with a wire transfer! I submitted all of my business AND personal ID/info AND banking info as requested on the website, and the transfer showed as 'completed'. They took the $6K out of my bank account but then soon after, I received an email saying the transaction had been cancelled and they closed my account but wouldn't say why. Now, 10 days later, my actual XE account transactions still show the transfer to the receiver has been completed, but the sender did NOT receive any funds. I've been calling customer service every day to get my money back but enough is enough. I AM GOING TO THE RCMP TO MAKE A STATEMENT TODAY about their fraudulent activities. I would encourage you to do the same if you're in the same boat. If you haven't signed up for an XE account yet, DON'T DO IT! Not only did they hold my money, but they have all of my private ID and banking information - I'm worried about identity theft now too!

Illegal, predatory business practice that should be prosecuted. They would tell you to pay for cancellation charges with did not even make basic legal sense. Please beware and file complaints to your state department of financial services if you ever experience such situation.

Worst experience
October 22, 2021

Worst experience. They deducted money. Then they said account is not verified. Did not get back the money within 8 days. They did not say why the account is not verified. They did not mention in the account if there is problem in delivering. They did not reply to my email. I had to send my for medical reason. They delayed the transfer by 10 days.

The worst company existed in money transfer ever. Withheld money for two weeks under label of security checks for anti money laundering as if Money laundering happen on an open and monitored platforms and for amounts under 1000 usd! Avoid and use any other service regardless of rate, don't be tempted as the number of emails and calls are not worth the few dollars saving

No transfer - no refund!

I ahve used Xe about 5 times to the same destination account over a 12 month period. The first time took about a month to complete the international transfer. The second, and third times 2 weeks; the forth time 5 days. The last and fifth time, after 5 weeks, the transfer was not received at the destination account. When I queried it, they started an investigation which apparently could be an indefinite period of time. So I gave them 3 working days to either complete the transfer or process a refund. After 6 weeks from the initial request, no transfer and no refund and now no reply. So as somebody below described the company's business service resembles a scam or it's extremely inefficient and shouldn't be allowed to operate in the financial service industry.

I Have used XE to wire 100 USD. The reciever never recieved the money and it was never returned to me.
I have been dealing with the supervisor of customer support for the last two months and he has been telling me nothing but lies.

I tried to exchange Swiss francs to Peruvian Sol, and send it to an account in Peru.
They sent me the details of an account to wish I should send the CHF (which you would expect to be an account without charges) but I was charged CHF50 for a CHF249 transfer! Over 20% of my money. I queried this but got a stupid message about how the recipient's bank may assess charges that are beyond their control. They treated my question as a FAQ "why did my recipient not get the amount I sent". It looks like they never even read my message. I queried their reply, but they never answered back.
It also meant that what they say they received does not correspond to the amount I wanted my recipient to receive.
To cap it all, they then sent me a message saying the payment was not processed due to:
- unexpected error

What the hell is an unexpected error and what am I supposed to do?

Avoid this servive at all costs!

We tried to get a quote to transfer Sterling to another currency in another country. XE said we had entered into a contract and even though we used another company to do the transfer XE bullied us into paying nearly €2300 or face court action.
We never received confirmation of a contract from them although they said they sent but couldn't prove we had received it, though initially they said they could!
We knew they couldn't prove we had received as we hadn't.
They are bullies who use their power to rip off those of us who work hard for the little money we have. In times like these we cannot afford to lose that money.
My opinion. Stay clear and use another transfer company.

I was trying to send money overseas over 50K but things had changed and tried to cancel the transaction. I sent them numerous emails asking them to cancel the transaction but emails were unanswered except for the threatening emails sent to me that if I don't pay them they will drag me to court. The this company proceeded to impose fees of over 1K. Why is this company even allowed to operate as a money transfer in the US is beyond me. Think twice before using this company.

I have initiated a transfer of over 25K, wired funds and now they say they cannot complete. For a week I call every day, its over 45mins of wait time to reach CS. If you are considering using them just call customer service once to see their wait times. They assure returning money every day but nothing comes through. Now am worried about my money :( Wish I had researched before. Too many bad reviews :(

I set up with XE Exchange and did a number of smaller transfers over a year.
I then had a larger transfer for a real estate purchase in the U.S. I asked them ahead of time what they needed because it was cross border and I sent the requested paperwork. Everything seemed fine. However 3 days later, while i'm at the airport waiting for my flight to fly down to where the funds were going and sign closing papers, they called and said what they had asked for wasn't enough and they weren't going to send the wire. I couldn't do anything about it at the airport so my flight was wasted and I looked like an incompetent goof to everyone waiting for the funds.
DONT rely on these jokers for anything important!

Tried to use xe to transfer money to the Philippines. They put all sort of obstacles for a week and then said "too risky." Never again. Caused me to lose out on purchase of a house. Unhelpful. Incompetent. Lack communication. Excuses, no results. I will never use again and suggest you should not use them either.

Be very careful about using this company and read the terms and conditions carefully, I entered into a contract to send money to a relative in the Philippines, once XE had received my funds they asked me for documentation and I provided as requested they continued to ask for documentation which I was not able to provide, I emailed them and did not receive any response, after 3 business days I called them and they said they were not able to send the funds, canceled my account, charged me £270 for the change in exchange rate. I contacted Torfx and they were happy to do the transaction I required. I would never use XE again.

Do not entrust these folks with any of your money.

After two months of trying to get them to find and process a transfer, I received nearly simultaneous messages (after 30+minute hold times twice) from telephone agents indicating the transaction is in process AND it has been cancelled and we sent you an email in "either 03/04/2021 or 03/04/2021, I can't tell if March or April."

They did no such thing. I'm not sure that did anything.

As far as I can tell, they take your money easily enough, play the float until you complain, and then make you jump through hoops to get it back.

XE will NOT send your money back after their failure to process the transaction. Adding to the insult, they require your bank to retrieve the funds from XE's iron-fisted grip.

Very frustrating
March 25, 2021

I thought they were an expert on transfer, but they are actually NOT. I was trying to send money to Japan Postal bank and a local Japanese bank. Both failed and the local bank charged me a fee (about $75). Also very confusion from the beginning. I do not recommend their service. I am sure the company is good at exchanging for certain currencies but they had better know and put more clear instructions for different countries. I am completely unsatisfied about their service.

Worst service ever
March 19, 2021

They collect all sensitive information including personal social security numbers, tax returns etc. After online registration, we have to work with someone to get the account verified. The customer service wait times were more than 30 minutes, before somebody answers and tells you that they will call back. They never do. We get lucky after 4 or 5 attempts, and talk to someone to provide more details that they ask. At the end we get an email refusing to open the account without providing any reason whatsoever. The decision is irreversible. I am scared what they can do with my company information. I should have read the reviews here before providing the details. My bad. Please avoid if you can.

I'm not happy with xe and wont be using it again. It's a shame as I loved the layout before. Now they are constantly changing the layout. The currency chart is much harder to read. I hate it!
