Wunderground used to be an awesome site. The only weather site worth anything. In the last many months, theyve changed the site and it absolutely sucks. Its so disappointing! It use to open to the nice, tight 10-day look, with an easy click on whatever day you wanted more details for. Now, it takes forever to load the homepage - which is the weather for the current day - and forever AGAIN to get to longer term view. Absolutely terrible.
I'm still a charter member of Weather Underground but it has gone downhill since being bought out. Now it's just another corporate dog and pony show owned by the Weather Channel (NBC). In fact, the TV version of the afternoon WU is horrendous no matter how "casual" they try to make it. The only thing missing on the televised version is a tap dance while they give the forecasts and updates on the "millions" of people affected by the current weather. (The U.S. is a nation of millions.) Don't even get me started on naming of winter storms. Next time you're in a social setting, ask a person to name the last big winter storm. Then ask them to name the last hurricane.
Twice now I have setup accounts and tried to link my PWS. At one time it worked well for several months. Now my Weather Underground web page for my PWS just continues to say the station is not reporting. Don't expect to get any help from their support staff if one even exists. My station works fine for my Acurite PWS webpage.
These people are scientists, and yet the design of the website is terrible and nearly unusable. What do you want from a weather website? Quick access to the forecasts. You've managed to bury even that and make it muddy. You can't find basic information, it is poorly and primitively organized, and completely out of tune with modern web standards. It is hard to believe a major organization can do such an astonishingly poor job. You succeed in making the government weather dot gov website look amazing. Congratulations on hiding your best scientist, Dr. Masters, you idiots.
I used weather underground for years, but with all of the down grades they have added which they call upgrades, I cannot find the information which I need. When the search is successful, advertisements cover the information and I cannot get them out of the way. Totally worthless site.
Too bad... Always was slow but so much info it was worth the visit. Now its just a joke. Try weatherstreet.
Basic site functions like opening settings and adding cities to favorites don't even work. The site admins should know about the problems but don't fix them. What a joke. Grade F site.
What happened to the best weather site that ever was. It was THE BEST, hands down. Now, when I go to the site the computer heats up and processes while waiting for the now useless interface to load. The great and mighty Wunderground is now adrift in the breeze. I hate the Weather Channel now and will never watch it again after what they did to WU.
What's the point of visiting anymore? I cannot get more than an hours worth of data at a time. I can go stand outside and see what the weather is doing without an app thanks. Waste.
I can only reiterate other comments. They used to be great, seems after the Weather Channel merge it rapidly went down hill... They will never answer a request or question on there help page. Goodbye to the "Weather Underground" we do have choices...
What a complete joke. Inaacurate weather, and ZERO customer service. Check historical data for any PWS and you'll find the temperature history is just made up.
This site used to be a great spot for weather nerds to get their data. In the last two years, renovations to the site have removed most of the deep functionality, and even standard things like a textual 5 day forecast. Really silly changes like removing the ability to pull weather by airport code.
I'm almost certain that the Weather Underground's owners purchased the site to ruin it on purpose to drive users to other products. It's really a shame.
Oh, and don't bother complaining, or asking questions, or providing bug reports. Nobody will ever answer.
I had a PWS up and running from April until December 25th and it suddenly disappeared for no reason at all. I sent WU support numerous requests without a reply or explanation as to why. I eventually had to create another PWS to get back on line. In other words there is no support. Also the fact that they've illuminated web cams tells us that the whole organization is in trouble. I hope they're taken over by someone who can run a railroad or business. The existing group has dropped the ball and it's very obvious by reading the reviews here. If you haven't had a problem yet it's only a matter of time when you do and don't expect any support. They still have made it easy to send them more money though.
Used to be a dependable and accurate site for weather and, in particular, forecasts. Now it is not even a useful glance into the obvious. Totally useless. I agree with other posts... just shut it down. I've deleted my link and won't be back.

Had been a subscribed customer for 10 years (about).
I knew that when the Weather Channel bought WU that it would soon go down the crapper.
Service is their main product and they fail miserably no replies to several emails for minor assistance on the web site.
They should simply shut things down if they are not interested in fixing problems. Webcams attached to a PWS did never really work, now the cams go into an "approval" process (what an utterly BS...) and nobody EVER looks at approving these webcams.
I am ready to pull my PWS and stop supporting them with my free data. Either they move their behinds or will go belly up soon with the crappy support they provide. Well DON'T provide.
Website looked good. Paid the $10 for upgraded access. Attempted to customize homepage as advertised. Nothing worked properly. I assumed it was something I was doing wrong. However, based on reviews it appears that I'm not alone. Attempting to select Favorites creates duplicates. Attempting to delete duplicates creates more duplicates. Attempting to reorder Favorites results in reversion to previous order. Further research indicates TWC purchased Wunderground in 2012. IBM purchased the TWC data network in 2016 for a weather forecasting to business venture named "Deep Thunder". Obviously, they have no interest in maintaining the public interface as the Wunderground problems have been widely documented for some time and TWC/IBM clearly has the expertise to fix it. OK, that's fine. My problem is that they scammed me for $10 via PayPal for a product that is clearly defective. Don't bother complaining to TWC or IBM. They clearly have no interest and don't return calls or emails. The $10 is nothing. The blatant fraud pisses me off.
Weather Underground has gone underground. The web interface on my web browser and my iPad are truly unusable. WU used to be the UNEQUIVOCAL best weather site/app available, but now it is truly awful. Emails to their "support" go unanswered and apparently they are unresponsive. For whatever reason, they think I give a $#*! about the weather in New York City, London, Melbourne and other international cities that I never get to, instead of allowing me to KEEP my favorites right there at the top of the screen. The iPad app went from having all the relevant info on the screen to the requirement of scrolling down to get essential information. Really disappointing. I am now on a quest to identify a replacement because Weather Underground is unusable for me.
Wunderground used to be the best - and then they started going downhill, and they have reached absolute rock bottom now... from their outrageously SLOW server, to their new absurd format, and the final straw they have DELETED all my favorites and there is no way to reload them... they won't even answer email queries - all they're interested in is you clicking on their site so they can collect from the advertisers... i'm looking elsewhere for my weather forecast now...
The team who created lookr.com is going to build an improved WU alternative that works smoothly - if you want us to. But this requires resources. So we are asking weather enthusiasts - like you - out there, if they would be willing to pay a small price for such a satisfying service.
We are not weather enthusiasts ourselves. But we love webcams. And we have a genuine interest in providing a satisfying service for our users. Now, and in the future. Below you see two sample screenshots of how our new service might look like:
Update:
We have two experienced weather enthusiasts on board in this project to make sure we will go into the right direction. And of course, we will stay in touch through your feedback on how to improve and develop what actually makes sense. For example, we already got feedback that it would be enough to update every 5 seconds for rapid fire, since most weather stations won't be able to update every second (as suggested by our survey before).
Please let us know in this survey, if you are interested in such an improved WU alternative. Thank you.

Answer: This was deliberate calculated sabotage for some reason
Answer: It won't come back. IBM bought The Weather Company to get at the data so they could package and sell that to their corporate customers using their "Watson" cloud services. Individuals mean nothing. That they've managed to so thoroughly destroy what was once the premiere weather site says a lot about the incompetence behind their core "Watson" products. You might want to tell IBM that.
Answer: They hired a bunch of idiots to manage and design their new site. This included removing features and gutting the radar.
Answer: Yes. We have many employees who come to work each day desperate to appear productive and relevant. We ask them to destroy functional lean websites with bloated nonsense. Meanwhile, our executives require more money so we like to devastate communicative websites with ad-infested infestations of pus-riddled idiocy. Thanks for asking!
Answer: Pointless giving feedback/complaints. I tried this and got an automated reply telling me how much better it was!
