Most of the time doesn't work on latest Mac OS. I suggest advertisers should be reimbursed for signing up to what might be the worst site on the Internet. Not just weather sites. One wonders how what was OK got so screwed up.
Intellicast used to be a super-useful website! Now that they've merged with Weather Underground, it's turned useless. For some reason, links don't work and take forever to respond- and when they do, they go to the completely wrong page. I've been randomly redirected to the San Fran forecast more times than I can count. I live in MN. Also have clicked on past searches for my city and instead, Minneapolis, Germany comes up. Major fail.
Killed WU and everything which made it great. RIP Weather Underground. You will be sorely missed. :(
I used to love Intellicast's animated weather maps that could show me where the rain is and how hard its going to rain in the coming day. For some incomprehensible reason they have acquired and then destroyed a lot of value.
As the title states, these goofballs got rid of Intellicast who's radar loaded faster, offered better functionality (futurecast, earthquake monitors, etc), and they did it all for nothing. Their software is garbage.
I hate weather underground! I want Intellicast back! It was user friendly, quick, easy, good graphics, etc. What the hell happened here. Oh I think I can guess. Someone wants to make money I'll bet. I'm steaming.
Keep it simple stupid and bring back the Intellicast maps formats. Wunderground is for home station fanatics. Some poeple just want to see the storms brewing over their local area. Keep it simple stupid!
Weather Underground destroyed Intellicast. The maps have been relegated to tiny windows. No more looping radar summary. It was very professional. I hate the Weather Underground maps. They are very confusing. Thanks Weather Corp. You now monopolize online weather, and I get no choice.
I wasn't surprised to find that they have super low rating. I've sent them a note 4 months ago and again a month ago about wrong city that comes up and still not fix after 4 months and 2 emails later. I guess no one at Eagan, MN uses Wunderground, because it brings you to Eagan, TN when you click on it.
I first thought it was something to do with local cache, but tried it on another pc, it came up with the same result. When you search zip ******* or Eagan, MN. It will come up on the search, but when you click on it, it will give you Eagan, TN instead. Really...?
The new maps are laggy. I am lost. I can't find severe storm cell trackers now. The radar imagery is not as defined as before. The website says "same maps". Nope. I'm not finding the same map, and it won't remember my location. I live in tornado alley and I used to depend on Intellicast. Bring back the old way. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. With this new map, I'm dead, call me Dorothy.
NO zoom, stupid little flags everywhere, bring back intellicast. This is the worst site ever. New and improved stinks like manure. I liked the original intellicast from 8 yrs ago but at least the last one was usable. Also, why does the weather channel get the tornado radar (the one with the green and red) but the general public does not? Could save lives, but that is another story. At least the old site had decent zoom. Everything about this site is stinks.
According to Wikipedia, Intellicast now falls under their cloud platform group. It's a very bad advertisement for their cloud when the forecast page won't even load for days on end. IBM has bet most of their marbles on cloud and software. IBM used to be good in the hardware business, but they've failed with their transition to software. I am sick of this daily reminder as I watch the WU graph icon spinning and never loading. Wonder where the Intellicast wizard architects are nowadays.
I keep trying to change locations right back to where I don't reside any longer, must be some idiot that upgraded the web site. Forget renewal. I tried for a negative star
As a pilot, I have used Intellicast for many years. It gave me a great concise overview of current weather, progs and a great radar presentation.
Since it has "merged", more like taken hostage, by Weather Underground it has been a huge disappointment. I can no longer rely on the information presented or that it will even work at any given time.
I really hope that WU can get this program back to the standards and operational availabilty that Intellicast spoiled us with for years.
I, like most here used Intellicast on a daily basis especially the Interactive radar and the 10 day graphical forecast and I'm highly POed about all of this. What I have done to get a little bit of Intellicast functionality back is establish separate desktop icons for WU radar in my area and also an icon for the city where I live which displays the 10 day forecast. When I need to look at the 10 day forecast I click the icon and up pops the 10 day forecast just like Intellicast had (they were actually using the WU 10 day forecast in their app). You have to set up the 10 day forecast graphics the way you want and save them but it works. The radar defaults to some weird map other than the satellite view but it can be selected as well as the radar you can setup the layers to show personal weather stations in the area that are clickable. As far as other Intelliast features like surface analysis maps etc. those might have to be under a separate icon also. I'm hoping this will help ease the pain of losing Intellicast
Intellicast had been THE weather information site to go to. Like other users have stated here, the product left for us now is not usable, is unstable, and downright irritating. It is so bad, there is nothing I can say about it other than goodbye. I have deleted my mobile app, and removed it from my favorites bookmarks. There are other sites out there, but it is just such a shame to have had something great, and lose it.
I don't know if Weather Underground could have done much more to screw up Intellicast if they tried. Really miss what Intellicast WAS. The ability to pan and zoom and regenerate the radar frames quickly is gone. More adds/page than radar. They're apparently trying to suck every last advertising dollar out of the Intellicast name and have so overloaded every page with ads and garbage that it takes forever to navigate the website. Just horrible.
I like so many have come to the conclusion, intellicast was and I say this again, WAS 1 of the better weather sites. Now we have a site that gives you what they want to give you, not what we want and need to determine our weather in our area. All I CAN SAY IS I HOPE SOME COMPANY WILL READ THESE AND CREATE A SITE THAT IS CLOSE TO WHAT INTELLICAST WAS.
Radar view buried, slow, buggy, terrible, does not default to radar, hard to zoom,
10 day forecast does not load half the time,
Totally sucks
Why did they merge.
NOT User friendly
And they sell your info.
SAYS in their privacy policy that they can so there is nothing you can do about it
GO elsewhere
Answer: This was deliberate calculated sabotage for some reason
Answer: It won't come back. IBM bought The Weather Company to get at the data so they could package and sell that to their corporate customers using their "Watson" cloud services. Individuals mean nothing. That they've managed to so thoroughly destroy what was once the premiere weather site says a lot about the incompetence behind their core "Watson" products. You might want to tell IBM that.
Answer: They hired a bunch of idiots to manage and design their new site. This included removing features and gutting the radar.
Answer: Yes. We have many employees who come to work each day desperate to appear productive and relevant. We ask them to destroy functional lean websites with bloated nonsense. Meanwhile, our executives require more money so we like to devastate communicative websites with ad-infested infestations of pus-riddled idiocy. Thanks for asking!
Answer: Pointless giving feedback/complaints. I tried this and got an automated reply telling me how much better it was!
Answer: Your local Tv station meteorologist.
