This platform has provided me opportunity to earn through my writing skills and guided me at each step. I really enjoyed working with them.
I am a writer with more than 7 years of working experience. I love working with Writing Creek and the consistent orders make it a wonderful experience. While I was researching before joining the platform, I was little hesitant, but now its more than 6 months and I am enjoying writing for them.
I wrote the prescribed test in May 2021 and was rejected on the basis of "undisclosed reasons," like many others here. On enquiry with their 24/7 support, I was told it was because my essay was not up to scratch. I may not be a stellar writer, but I've garnered awards for my writing and went on a Summer Program with Duke University in my country for my standard of work.
When I tried to apply again and was told my account was declined (in Jan 2022), a Support Staff named Maddy let me know that I could reapply within 3 months from the original application date. This is obviously fallacious, considering I applied in May 2021. I was then directed to another Staffer named Jolene today (17th Jan 2022), who let me know I can only contact the platform for assistance through email and that this so-called Support can do nothing for me. She also declined to let me speak to anyone senior to her, proclaiming herself as the Shift Manager, indicating a suspicious lack of internal structure to the platform. If I can talk to support, why can't they direct me to someone within the appropriate department for my query? And even if that isn't possible, why is there no avenue for my case to be forwarded so I can simply follow up and don't have to go through the same long-winded explanation each time? She also informed me that my only recourse was applying with an alternate mail - which platform endorses something like that? Its incredibly suspicious and worrying.
After dodging my questions for a while and not allowing me to leave a complaint on their Support experience, I terminated the chat and found these reviews. It's clear from the responses dating back to 2020 that "Kim T" or any other representative of Writing Creek on this platform simply responds with "We are as disturbed with this as you are. Please forward your XYZ Number/Details," with no real resolution. It's a shameful endeavour and unfortunately pulls in several individuals like me looking to make their skills profitable.
Worst site that I ever came across. First I get an email saying that you have passed the test and now there are only few steps left. Send your official Id and diploma to become a registered writer on our platform. But later when i tried to login with my email, then that page is showing that I am not registered.

You have not passed the verification process that includes verifying the writer's phone number. We need our writers to be reachable via phone. Your conditions were to call you only between 11 PM to 5 AM.
Please, understand, if you were in our shoes, would you hire at least two more specialists of the Support team, to be able to reach you during the time frames you have mentioned? Additionally, for the purpose of not disturbing our writers in their nighttime, the system is blocking calls to writers in the nighttime. So even if we hire at least two specialists of the Support team to be able to reach you in your time frames, they will have to call you from their own phone numbers internationally.

I say all this because of the percentage of the order price that we get. Usually an order can be $80 and you would be getting a disappointing $20.
Customer service is good, the constant flow of orders is if you don't have any current orders, because if you do, you'll ne restricted from taking on new ones.

We completely understand your desire to receive all the customer pays, but we cannot payout all the amount. There is a simple reason for that: your bid per page (which is not limited by the system) is different from what our clients see from their side. Why is it different? We have a team that develops, tests, supports, and manages the system every day. That's why you can use a convenient website, receive new orders, and get your issues resolved ASAP. We work hard to provide our writers with a flow of customers. I understand that from your side all of our efforts are not this transparent, but still, we have more than 300 people out there to make it work. That's why we take extra charge from our clients, even though it does not limit you in your price per page. Clients pay for their convenience, that's it.
As for the access to new orders, for all the writers to have fair chances to get orders, our system controls the number of your orders in progress without papers being uploaded and may limit access to some extent. So, please don’t take too many orders at once; instead, take a few, upload high-quality papers when you are ready, and only then take more orders. Don't you think it is fair enough to give a writer new orders when they have finished current ones?
They advertise ‘for beginners'. I've been a freelance writer for many years, with published works. Not to mention a bachelors degree, with many essays under my belt.
The details of entry tests was ridiculous.
They lock you out of the account and won't disclose why you were declined. When I contacted them ask, they were extremely rude and abruptly ended the chat. I would find somewhere that is more customer based, if they treat potential employees this way, I'm sure they are just as rude to customers who pay them.
I believe this is a company who draws people in, collects personal info and data, then solicits and sells them to marketing firms online for compensation. It's a growing business and it's shady. I am submitting information to the government and law enforcement, because I feel there is a bigger underlying issue here. If I'm wrong, we'll at least they have been looking into for legal services.
Make sure you read those terms and services. Just WOW! They can change anything they want, whenever they want, you can't do a thing about it. They just have to post them to their platform. Sheesh! Steer clear folks…. Read their entire terms….

They mailed me to give the photo id for verification and said that I successfully passed both the tests and then when I mailed them my photo id they mail me that my application has been declined. There was no need to play with someone feelings like that. Very unprofessional behavior.

My only criticism would be that the occasional support agent has been rude and unhelpful but most are super polite and helpful!

The questions meant for evaluation are always similar... I tried to open an account. I passed one but with similar answers I failed...! The reason... IP addresses were different. One from Canada other one Congo. I failed the test of the one from Congo. Let me not speculate... but I see danger. I used to here about the same from people and decided to take a trial... I can't do the essay because I know they will fail me because I confronted them on the same... the first test was a pass the other one I got "0" crap!

They ask you to pass a ridiculously easy test that even an ESL speaker could figure out, but then ask you to write an essay on a random topic in 30 minutes (which as a teacher I know is insufficient time to give someone unless they have seen the material upon which the topic is based), and then they decline your application based on "undisclosed reasons". Since I've been writing essays for at least 20 years (in several different languages), hold two university degrees in language-related fields and am an educator who teaches people how to write essays, I find that highly suspect. Clearly it is not the quality of the essay which determines if it is good enough but some other arbitrary criterion. Furthermore, you only have one chance to apply and if you get rejected you can't apply again.

I am actually a freelance writer/translator with more than 12 years of experience in the field. As I understand it, WritingCreek offers work even to those who are only beginning their careers or speakers of other languages. The test was very easy. I have a CPE certificate and I found it to be quite simple. But they turned down my essay because of 'undisclosed reasons.' Really? You claim you're friendly and don't discriminate, yet turn down someone from another country even if their essay is brilliant? Get off your high horse.
