Worthwhile and good value website. Very community orientated and social. Lots going on; competitions and contests, group chats, mentoring and tuition.
The folks on this site are encouraging and supportive. You learn a lot and can try new things. Grow at your own pace.
I love the feedback from other authors and the ease of using the website. I also really like the tokens authors can give each other. It adds a little fun!
I have a 17 year-old granddaughter who has a gift for words and who has the same passion for writing and creative arts as i have. I shared with her this great website, because i know she will get great help in growing her gift here. By reading and reviewing all of the great writers who come here, one gets to see the world through their eyes.
Before Writing.com, I had to keep physical copies of my manuscripts, so if I moved, they could get lost. Now, with Writing.com, my writing stays online and I don't need to worry, because wherever I go, it's safe online.
I am not avid at much of any particular activity, but I do have pride for the substances of what I write about, and therefore like the idea of calling myself an avid writer.
Changing geographical locations to suit my needs and emotional tidal waves has been a stepping stone for me. But when the soul does not have clarity within their lives it is then that waves of emotional insignificance can become tides of typhoons, tsunami, and or walls of determination to ripple its waves upon their whole surrounding environment.
Here in Writing.com, you've found a team of bureaucrats who value your experiences of LIFE & HOPE, nothing less or more than to help you find a moment of clarity to give your soul a needed rest in rejuvenation, if you will, to accomplish what it is you want to accomplish with your writing team.
Good fortune - good luck - good riddance - & GODSPEED in your writing endeavors!
Sincere regards,
Albert Wayne Sheda
Writing.com is a great place for writers of all levels of experience to come together and nerd out together!
I've been a member of Writing Dot Com now for nearly a decade. My experience has been helpful, entertaining, and ultimately inspires me to keep reading and writing. I've entered contests, won a couple, been published in newsletters, offered many reviews to assist other writers, and had a blast all along. I strongly recommend this site to any aspiring writer, and even to people who are just looking for things to read and/or review!
This site has been a haven for me, my home away from home. I have been afforded opportunity to meet some wonderful folks, write stories, poetry or whatever I felt at the time and receive reviews as well as give reviews of others works. I have had fun through the activities they offer and felt apart of something much bigger than you or I. It is a good feeling to know you can honestly share your thoughts about someone's writing and encourage them to continue. Others have done as much for me, a new writer, for which I am ever grateful. Writing.com has been nothing but a PLUS in my life, and I'm so glad I found it! Linda
Thank you for all the kindness shown by all at Writing.com. The best writing site on the planet and the greatest bunch of passionate people to grow with. Have a great new year. BEAR
I can't express how much this place has helped me. Let me know that some people really like my writing, but aren't afraid to tell me where I need work. Very supportive.
I have been a member since 2011, and have enjoyed the opportunity to share my writing, get and give feedback, as well as, learn the craft of creative writing.
Writing.com is one of the most complete, organized and welcoming writing communities I' ve ever seen. Even for those who aren't expert in English language (as it is for me since I'm Italian) is full of suggestions to get better and of people ready to assist.
I've been a member of writing.com for 9 years now, and in that time I have grown from being an uncertain, baby writer, to being a multi-published novelist. I've also made life-long friends among the groups I've participated in and the critique partners I've worked with.
If you're a writer, or just think you might like to write, writing.com is definitely work trying out.
I continue to be a member because the community on this site is wonderful. I enjoy reading and reviewing, though I dabble with writing a little too. It's a perfect place for such creativity.
I absolutely love writing.com - the writing community is so warm and welcoming... you can get honest reviews for your work, and if you need help, there's always someone around who can help you. StoryMaster and StoryMistress really take pride in their site and don't allow bullying or anything threatening to go on in the site - at least not to my knowledge... When you have questions and email the site masters, they are really good about responding quickly! I absolutely love writing.com and I am now a member for LIFE!
This community is a great and open place to write anything and everything you've got on your mind. Blogs, short stories, novellas, and novels are all welcome. All genres and just about any circumstance you can place your characters in and situations you've been through are all here. Come and find the help and encouragement you need.
I've been a member for many years of this online community. I've found the flash fiction writing challenges and various clubs in the community to give me that creative spark to get my stories down. I particularly love the portfolio feature. It is designed to be read on a smartphone without having to fiddle with it. Much better font than reading from Dropbox! There has been more than one time at a convention or book signing where I'm asked to read something from my body of work on the fly. Having easy online access to my stories and poetry for live readings has been a lifesaver in these situations.
I just started but am already "into the writing zone".
Just signing up is a creative rush. System is a bit complex
And could use a kindly yet humorous guide like a Yoda
Or Splinter the sensei for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
Not cartoonish but the right mix of humor and seriousness.
I am sure there are writers out there with ideas.
I am partial to cats, Albert Einstein and Wolverines.
This site helps me more than any other. The ideas, encouragement, and honest reviews are top notch! I love being a part of this community.
Answer: The simplest and most honest answer to this is simply that we, as a site that allows authors to post work, can not possibly stop someone from copying something they've read online and trying to use it as their own. The question you have to ask yourself, more so, is whether or not that's likely to happen. If you feel your work is up to the level that someone could just take it and get it published -- then certainly you should not be joining a writing community to improve your skills -- you should instead be out getting your work published. From our 15 years of experience, having had tens of thousands of authors post work to Writing.Com, we've never heard from anyone that their work has been stolen from our site and published by someone else. I hope this answer helps!
Answer: It hasn't been down at all, so this is a difficult question to answer.:-)
Answer: Sure, that is interesting!:-) You can certainly write about anything that is interesting to you.:-)
Answer: Hello, If I'm understanding the question... you're asking about benefits of our Preferred Author promotion? You are correct in that promotion is recognition within the community more than anything else. There are some ancillary benefits, such as message forums and activities available only to certain portfolio levels, plus certain times where we request the input and/or participation of higher levels within the community. Our Moderators are only chosen from well established Preferred Authors. In addition, higher portfolio levels earn an increased number of Gift Points for logging in each day. Answer: Hello, No, we do not have with "landing pages". It sounds like you're looking for a search engine placement company and that's not what we are. Good luck!
Answer: The answer is 0. Spending has nothing to do with promotions on Writing.Com. The qualifications for promotion include reviewing and interaction on the site, along with minimum amounts of time on the site. The full qualifications are listed in "Writing.Com 101" which is linked from the top of each page. Promotions are made manually, however... and Writing.Com is a literal "Mom and Pop shop" -- two people. Active members in our community also know that our 5 year old daughter was diagnosed with Leukemia the first week of September, so they know that this type of manual promotion is not something we have time to take care of right now. We'll be back to it as we work through and manage our family health issues.
Answer: Yes! There are nearly infinite usernames available.:-)
Answer: We are not Letgo. You are asking on the wrong site.:-)
Answer: We are not Letgo. You are asking on the wrong site.:-)
Answer: I'm sorry, I don't understand your question. You're welcome to create an account on Writing.Com without a previous history.:-)
