WOW GETS A 1 ONLY BECAUSE YOU MUST SELECT ONE NUMBER, OTHERWISE IT WOULD BE A BIG ZERO. This is the worst TV service on the planet. It's also the worst service. This WOW keeps rebooting all the time interrupting whatever you are watching. Nothing fixes this. If you watch one channel for more than three hours, it shuts the TV off. You won't be able to turn it back on and watch the rest of the program. You won't be able to turn the TV on to watch anything for several hours. There is no way around this problem. The 3 hour shut off is built in to their box. You have three selections for this and 3 hours is the maximum. I have spent hours and hours on the phone with these people trying to resolve issues. Had this service for one year, and I probably work on trying to fix it a couple hours per week, every week. Their internet service claims internet speed twice as fast as the others. Don't believe it. You can't tell any speed difference or maybe a little slower.
I am a Comcast customer and came home to finish work at home on Friday afternoon only to discover someone had wow put on my home. They gave me the name of Tony W who used my address, but not my phone number. The person before Patrick called Tony White and my phone didn't ring even though Patrick said he used my phone number which the person before and yesterday said it was a different number. Wow will not come and take it off. I have spent 4 1/2 hours on the phone over 2 days and they say it's up to Comcast, to fix it, but why should Comcast fix wows mistake? And when I talked with Patrick who wouldn't give his last name and it took him a bit to give his employee number N7525 from the loyalty department he just said call Comcast. When I asked who he reports to he told me that is confidential, but I guess anyone can call wow and they will put their cable going into your home. It's to bad I have no rights and that I have missed out on doing my job at home over the weekend. I guess they also don't have a complaint department to make a complaint to. I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND OR GET WOW SERVICE EVER. HAD TO WAIT AN HOUR ON HOLD UNTIL SOMEONE EVEN ANSWERED. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. DO NOT USE WOW! I would think that someone would reach out to me about this but they couldn't even call me back like they told me. So I hope in the next day or two someone will reach out to me.
It's funny I have to agree not to write a false review because it's against the law but they can take off my Comcast cable install wow and leave their flags all over the backyard and just say call Comcasr, it's to bad that isn't against the law putting it on a home that didn't sign up for it. Let's see if someone contacts me. I am going to call to see if anything can be done legally.
Bad company, horrible service, non-English speaking customer service, delivering only 50% of the 1 gig speed I ordered, moreover, I got taken for a ride twice, on Friday, August 27,2021 a service technician DID NOT SHOW UP for an appointment at my house, I called, waited an hour before anyone picked up, no reason given - appointment got rescheduled for today, August 30,2021, the same story again, NO ONE SHOWN UP for the appointment, I called wowway again, waited another hour just to be told that the dispatch is closed for the day and the technician is nowhere to be found. DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING FROM WOWWAY CABLE UNLESS YOU WANT LOUSY NON-ENGLISH SPEAKING CUSTOMER SERVICE AND TECHNICIANS THAT NEVER SHOW UP FOR APPOINTMENTS! WOWWAY DESERVES "ZERO" STARS, ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE PEOPLE TO DO BUSINESS WITH.
Been with Wow (Knology) since 2006. They went downhill abut 2 years ago. Horrible service. Would not recommend.
We migrated to Wowway a little over 6 months ago, it in my opinion it was a huge mistake. Although I realize streaming is different from cable, I have to tell you, cost-wise, it isn't that significantly different, especially for the level of service, quality of reception and over-all customer experience. There's also little customer service to speak should you need tech help! We're stuck with this mess of a media system until my cheapskate husband gets it through his thick skull how God-awful Wowway is, but until them, I'll keep suffering screen freeze, reboots and burps in internet service. Wowway, I hate you.
Waited 45 min. Before I gave up trying to find out if the storm downed my internet service. Customer service is terrible even if your lucky enough to talk with someone their english is terrible.
Background:
On 08/23/21 I called Wow and told them I was terminating my services due to selling our home. I told them that I wanted the services terminated on 08/26/21. This is when the home was actually sold. The guy on the phone from Wow said that I owed nothing since I was cancelling the service on 08/26/21. He said that their billing cycle started again on the 26th. Since I was terminating the service on the 26th he said my balance was zero. Then I asked him how I return the cable modem, which was the last piece of equipment I had of theirs. He said he could send me a return mail box to send the modem back. I asked how long it would take to get the box. He said about 2 weeks. I told him this would not work because we were leaving IL for good within a week. He said he could give me the address of the distribution center so I could ship the modem back. He said that I would have to pay for the shipping. I said that this was acceptable. I shipped the cable modem back and received a confirmation of receipt from Wow on 08/30/21. So, I thought all was good and I was done.
Forward to 10/15/21:
So, we were now in AZ and had setup a P. O. Box so we could receive mail. I had setup this as a forwarding address for all the mail that was still being sent to our home that we sold. On 08/15/21 we went to the Post Office here in AZ and picked up our mail. In our mail was a bill from Wow for September and October. There was also a letter threatening to mess with our credit if we did not pay the bill. Needless to say I went ballistic. I immediately called the number on the letter. I was on hold as usual for about 50 minutes when a message played telling me that the office was closed and leave a detailed message. So, I did this.
The next business day, which was 10/18/21 I was expecting a call from Wow. Well as you would expect they did not call me. So, I called them. I waited on hold for about 15 min when I got through to someone. I explained the situation and she said that she would have to connect me to the department where they terminate services.
The person answered and said her name was Rebecca. I told her the whole story and she verified that I had returned the equipment and that there was not activity on the account since 08/26/21. She said she would straighten everything out. So, I waited and she said that the account was closed and that I owed nothing. I said this is what the guy said back on 08/23/21. I asked for an email stating this. She said she could not send one. I guess Wow's stance is no accountability at all.
Final Comments:
My advice is that you not ever deal with Wow for any kind of services at all. They have become the worst provider out there. Their hold times for customer support are usually somewhere between 30-60 minutes. Most of the time, you end up waiting closer to an hour. Then you usually have to deal with someone you can't even understand. They really are terrible.
Forward to 10/27/21:
I just received another bill from Wow for $33.60. I guess I am not done with them yet. I called and spoke to someone named Rei. At least that is all I could understand. Told her I received another bill and already called in to verify I do not owe anything and that I terminated services back on 8/26. I was told then that I owed nothing. Then when I called in on 10/18/21 and told all this to that person, she said she would straighten it all out. She said I owed nothing. Now, Rei said I owe nothing as well. She also said the last amount on my bill was -$80. So, I asked how did they pay this since I did not receive anything. She did not know and put me on hold. She never did get an answer on her end. She said over and over that I do not owe anything.
So, I got rid of WOW cable due to the fact they increased price for bad service. So, I finally switched to Streaming. Needless to say I did not use any Streaming service from WOW. Since I switched which was this past Saturday I have had multiple outages on my internet. WOW has to be one of the worst interent providers out there. I am in the process of getting rid of them. Whatever you do, stay away from WOW. I have had at least 4-6 outages every day since I went to internet only service from them. They really Suck!
So, I have been having major issues with WOW's internet. It got to the point where I actually tracked the outages and was calling them weekly for a credit. Finally I thought I had a support person on the phone who was really helping me. He said that the issue was that I had the basic internet and with the load because of covid that I was having all these issues. I said that is your problem not mine. He said that he would bump up my internet to the next level and keep my charges about the same. I said go ahead. So, he came back on the phone and told me that my monthly charges with everything would now be $131 and some change. This was only a couple of dollars more so I agreed. My issues did go away after this change. Then I got the bill a few weeks later and guess what, My charges went to $141 and some change. So he lied to me. Now I have to battle with WOW about this. These guys really suck. I have to change vendors. I would not recommend WOW as a provider of services.
I called WOW again on 7/7/21 to get my 5$ credit for the past two days of poor service. I finally connected with JP. I told him to read all the notes. He did and then he checked to make sure that the new cable modem went out. He came back on the phone and told me that the order was never put in. So, why is it that the past 4 times I called for a credit that none of the employees check to see that the cable modem was shipped to me? This company has to be the worst I have ever dealt with. Then I asked what about the Fed-X box I was told was being sent to me so I could return the video equipment since I cancelled that part of the service. JP told me that had not been done either. I could not believe it. So, then he said he was going to transfer me to retention services. I told him not before he verified that he put the $5 credit in. He finally verified that then transferred me.
So, now I was transferred to Retention Services and speaking with Consuela. Once again I told her to read all the notes before I started talking. She read all the notes. I asked her how she would feel if this was happening to her. She said that she works from home and would change out the service provider if this was happening and not belittle the people you talk to. I said that I did not use any derogatory comments towards her and only said how bad the service was from WOW. I also said that I was sorry that she had to work for such a poor company. Finally she arranged for someone to come out here Monday to bring me the cable modem they were supposed to deliver days ago and never did. She said that person would take the video equipment back from me as well. I told her not sending someone sooner was not acceptable. She restated they would be here Monday. As I have said before, you have to be in idiot to sign up with WOW! Once all this is resolved they are gone!
I applied for emergency Broadband assistance on May 19. WOW customer service rep was given ID# and informed me application was approved and beginning next bill I would receive a $50 credit. This never occurred. Instead WOW billed me, informed me upon my call to them I was not enrolled and stated I hung up on the call. WOW never called me even though they had my number that I was not enrolled. They then wanted the ID# I provided them 3 weeks ago which they had in their screen. I terminated service and will file complaint to the Florida PUC. I have basically been denied a limited benefit I qualified for due to WOW incompetence.
Wow is not a company that cares if you work from home an you can perform your job because services were always out an when you call for service they want to charge you for a service call. Then when you have no choice but to switch cable providers they try to charge you for early termination, they can provide you with good service an reliable service they screw you with a fee not a company you want to be with.So they send you to collections instead of just realize that there service sucks
I've been a wow customer for about 12 year now. The internet has always been so. I recently dropped cable to start streaming and upgraded to 1 gig and have had nothing but problems with internet. When you call support you get foreigners with bad English and American names lol. And they are of no help. I'am canceling service on Thursday and looking forward to my new internet provider
Over the past year or so my service has been garbage a long with others that I know. People are working from home and this company needs to get it together! This company is awful!
Wish there was an option for negative 1,000 stars... Lifelong Comcast customer... wanted to switch to WOW. Made the switch...
Result: 5 days without internet and 5 technicians later... had to go back to Comcast. Every single day without internet the "guaranteed/promised" I would have working internet.
We work from home and had to take "vacation days" because we didn't have working internet... also have 2 young kids at home... NIGHTMARE!
Technicians would just come over and do something in the back and then leave for the day without checking with us to see if the Internet was working. Oh and to get Comcast back out here to clean up the mess WOW created... ya it cost me $100.
So to summarize it up... I paid $100 out of my own pocket to NOT have internet for 5 days!
WOW of course wouldn't reimburse me for that because they are cowards. But, I get it, I'm just one customer out of hundreds of thousands.
Besides expensive they cut mom's services without warning and she couldn't contact her family. They said her spam was concerning. That implies they are watching what we do. Also tucker Carlson show was blacked out so that was suspicious. Reasonably connectivity etc.
From day 1 we have had issues. Tech installed it. Tech didn't do it right. Called another tech. New Tech didn't know why it wasn't working. Called another tech. New tech didn't know what was wrong. I got a bill a month later for over $200! We were told installation was free, not they charged it. Every time a tech came out they charged us $50! They said we call the tech. We didn't. Their techs called them to come out! They finally removed the charges and service still sucks. Every month it shows on the bill my account is overdue. The balance is ZERO because it is NOT OVERDUE! I have NEVER missed a payment. They turned off our service because of their error! HORRIBLE COMPANY.
I have been fighting with WOW for over a year regarding my internet speed and have never had my issue resolved. I wouldn't recommend them for business or residential use. I have had better service with xfinity.
I just spent 45 minutes trying to get new service. I spoke to 3 different people and they wanted to transfer me to a four. None of these people could help me, it was always the wrong department. All I wanted was new service at my new address. No one could explain what the problem was they just couldn't help. So I still have no service. The phone # I looked up for customer service wasn't even the correct number.
They lie and provide the worst customer service ever. Whatever you do don't deal with this so called company. I have had to call over a dozen times in a year and a half. Can't wait until my contract is over.
They have lied to me about stuff a number of times and their internet service is blah at best and never gives half the download speed I pay for. Gonna dump them come the new year and go back to Comcast. I didn't realize how good I had it when I used to have them as my provider.
Didn't show up twice for installation. Very unprofessional. Second appt. Scheduled by dispatch, Still no show. Dispatch couldn't even get in touch with technician on my 1st request for install. Not even calling this time. Received emails and texts confirming both "Appointments." Don't waste your time waiting.
Have been a WOW customer for 20 years. Reliable phone + cable + internet. They switched to overseas customer service some years back, and that was not a good choice. But things still worked OK, and then the pandemic happened. Now that I'm working from home every day, my connection needs to be reliable and it's not. I get disconnected after each remote login 2 or 3 times each morning, sometimes later in the day as well. I pay for 100 Mbps & get 50 or 40, and for a while it was 11. No one else in my work department has these issues. This has been ongoing for 7 months now. I have called customer svc 6 or 7 times. They have a script they read which says things like, "Unplug your modem from the wall for 30 seconds," and "clear your cookies and cache." Unplugging the modem resets the connection so they think they have the problem solved, but that does nothing to address the fact that the connection is not reliable. One tech who came to the house plugged a hard wire directly into the modem and discovered he gets 100 Mbps that way, suggested I get a hardwire cable too. But that might not solve the dropped connections, and it won't address the fact that my phone and internet TV have spotty connections as well. I've asked them to send me another modem -- 7 to 10 business days -- and if that doesn't solve the problem, I'll be switching to Spectrum who has offered me the same service for $30 less per month, no contract.
