I have bought many books from WoB and generally have been happy for books I want to read rather than collect. The descriptions of the books' condition on WoB is rarely accurate. Often books are described as being in ‘very good' condition but this is simply not true, especially when compared to the descriptions on ABE Books, for example, where sellers live and die by their honest descriptions. There are conventions about describing book condition which WoB either ignores or doesn't understand. If WoB added accurate descriptions I'm sure it would reduce any negative feedback.

Thought I had gotten a good deal on a bible. They advertised it, but apparently did not have it, received a refund from Paypal, but not receive any type of communication from this company, bad way of doing business.
People, do not buy from these people, I should of read the reviews first.

What one gets is totally unpredictable.
This seller advertizes used books in different conditions: Like New, Very Good, Good and Well Read - in theory enabling you to only choose books in a condition you like. In practice, while I often got perfect books, they are also often sent in condition entirely different from what was described. More than once I ordered "Like New" items and got either a badly damaged, torn, sunned copy full of scribblings inside, or an ex-library copy in unremovable folia wrapping, full of stamps and stickers - and then only offered a partial refund.
Due to this, I now only order from them when no other seller offers the same book for compareable price.

Placed order. Book never arrived even though website had it recorded as delivered. I emailed WoB to say this. They responded - late - to say that it had been delivered and, in essence, it was now down to me if it had been delivered to the wrong address.
I had forgotten that I had had problems with non-delivery and getting a refund from WoB before.
Won't be using them again. They are good when everything is fine but terrible when things go wrong. And that's far good enough with so many options for second hand book buyers available.

I made my initial purchase 9/2/2021. 2 weeks later I still hasn't received my order. I contacted them and they confirmed that not only had my order not been sent out, but that they refunded me for one of the books I purchased and didn't bother telling me beforehand that the book wasn't in stock even though I bought it off their website. Then they told me they shipped out the other book I had ordered, but it wasn't going to arrive by the time I needed it for my sister in laws baby shower. It has now been nearly a month and I still haven't received my order. I will NEVER use this site again! They do not fulfill their promises ontime!

I went online during lockdown to find a Birthday gift for a friend. I searched a book and thought - ok this seems pretty good. I'm from Australia and when I typed in books I selected an Australian Website WorldOfBooks. com.au. My first complaint is that it wasn't made clear that they are not based in Australia but in the UK. I waited a long four weeks to have the book shipped to me and arrive at my destination. The book was not protected in the packaging and infact had caused damage to the hard cover spine, the paper dust cover was damaged on top, bottom and side edges and a coffee stain on the front of the book! WTF!
Furthermore I believed I was purchasing a new book, not a secondhand one. They are quite tricky listing the item on the website, small font saying the condition of the book was "very good" Their explanation of "very good" differs significantly to most others "very good" condition. A coffee stain on the fornt of the book very good? I don't think so. The book was an eyesore and only way I could've gave it away as a gift is if I removed the dust cover and explained to the recipient that the spine was damaged during packaging. I still think I'd be embarrassed.
On the customer service side of things. What a joke! Don't waste your time and effort - they don't respond in a timely manner, and they do not address your concerns. They offer no resolution unless you want to ship back the book to them to allegedly obtain a full refund. What would the point of that be. Cost more in postage and time consuming and more cost effective to just pull the pages out of the book and use it to light your fire.
The business is a joke! Stay clear from them!

There bad reviews are well deserved. Ordered a book through them on ebay. They provided a tracking number but a month later and it still only says "tracking number provided". Six emails over the last two weeks went unanswered. Took disputing charge with my credit card company and unsurprisingly the disputes dept was even familiar with this seller's fraudulent and deceptive practices

This company sent me an email stating the book I ordered was damaged in-transit and returned to them. I've worked in shipping and receiving, and shipping companies still send damaged goods to the recipient regardless of how much they're damaged. I was then told the book I ordered was out of stock, so I double checked and they never shipped my order in the first place. Additionally, their website shows that they have two copies of the book I ordered in-stock, but they've now raised the price. I brought this to the attention of "Sarah, the Customer Service Advisor", as I await a full refund of my purchase. Will dispute the charges and issue a charge back if my card is not refunded in the 48 hour time frame they claimed.

Bought a second-hand book described as 'very good condition'. The pages were brown with age and brittle, the cover double over at the corners. In all, in near-scrap condition! 'World of books' ask me for photos; if they can't accept my word then future dealings are not for me. They should be more interested in how the description came to be so inaccurate.

I order 25 books from World of Books through Amazon. I only received 15 but they are telling Amazon they shipped me 15. I reached out to them on 8/23/2021 via a message on their website since a phone # is not provided. I finally received a response on 8/30/2021 saying they are looking into it. It's over a week!

I ordered a book on August 7,2021. Didn't receive it, wrote to the company on the 18th, received a response that it should arrive within ten days of ordering. Ok it had already been 11 days. It's now the 20th, no book and tracking shows nothing coming anytime soon, or ever. I needed this book by Today for a birthday. I'll have to buy something else. I ordered a book, recieved confirmation email, then never received anything else. After about 10 days I sent email to find out when it would be shipped, I was told it had been canceled and refunded. I did check and I did have a refund, but not for the total price a paid. And the website still listed my order as confirmed, not canceled, and I never received any email that it had been canceled. Still haven't received reply to my email about why my refund wasn't for the full amount ir why it was even canceled. Ordered the book from another site that I have only had good interactions with.

I purchased a book through their ebay. It says fast and free delivery. I'm past the latest delivery date and its not in transit. The carrier hasn't even received it. I wish I checked here first because they have a lot of stars on ebay. I've sent a message through ebay with no response. They took my money with no delivery of good or service.

I supposedly bought a book in Very good condition. It was shipped USPS in a plastic bag without ANY protection. And sure enough, when it arrived in my mailbox it was anything but in very good condition. Not accepting that and returning it. Avoid this seller. Any seller this careless with their merchandise is not worth your time or money.
