The overall reputation of the company is marred by significant concerns regarding customer service and transparency. While some users appreciate the platform's ease of use and functionality for building websites, many express frustration over unresponsive support, auto-renewal practices, and difficulties in obtaining refunds. Complaints frequently highlight long wait times for assistance, inadequate responses from customer service, and perceived hidden costs associated with subscriptions. This has led to a prevailing sentiment of distrust among customers, who feel that the company prioritizes profit over user satisfaction and support.

Do not waste your time regardless of how easy it is to use. Whats the point if your customers cant properly shop. If you are planning on designing a real website stay far away from here. They customer service sucks they will just send you in a complete circle round and around However I will be getting my money back from them. Court is next up and Im sewing for missed customers as well. I have videos of this crappy website just a complete bug fest. Then they did a update that turned a bad situation even worst. Count your days WIX if anyone want in on this class action lawsuit follow me on Instagram.
They take money without your permission out of the bank and increase prices without notification. The important information is in the fine print. They notify you about upcoming renewals with the expected date of recurring payment and then take money out of your account up to 30 days before, and you only find out about this change of terms once you attempt to cancel. I had responded to their email notifying me that payment did not go through last year with a request for a cancellation of service, not realizing that it was a no reply. Unlike straight companies that make it clear in a header that the email in a no reply, theirs is in the fine print you do not see when you are tired and busy. It is underhanded at best. They take advantage of people. I wish they could refund me the money for the service I have not used in a year and also upcoming year they just charged me for. Horrible company. Stay clear of them.
I have used Wix for many years, went to a competitor for a year (Shopify) and then back to Wix. I like everything about it except for one thing - their 'use a Wix partner' option.
I have recently used one of their recommended SEO merchants who they now say they don't recommend only for that person, Michael at frontlineweb, to not only undo but reverse 6 years of in-house SEO. If I was just reviewing Wix I would give them a 5*, but as they won't step in and take this company to hand, I have no option but to give them a 1*. I am not saying all their 'partners' are this bad, but this one is, and if they are going to 'partner' with them, they should take some responsibility when it comes to that 'partner' screwing up your whole business!
Seems like a straightforward and easy website builder, but when I signed up for premium to have more space and features there was no option to only buy for a year, it WILL auto renew and they will not remind you after that year or give you a chance to cancel, they will re-enroll you in another year plan and only notify you after they have charged your account and will not give you a refund. Very shady practice to me.
I thought that I would give wix a try. I have NEVER had so much trouble setting up a website. NO SUPPORT AT ALL. I tried chat, phone nothing worked. So many questions how do I do this how do I turn this on, how do I turn this off, says my site is live but it's not and no one I can ask how to do this or that or why it says it is live but it isn't. WOW, no support wish I would have went with someone else but at this point I got so much time invested I'm just going to have to try and polish this turd.
Its not. You have to pay for a domain even if its your own. All the actually usefull features like the book a meeting one are expensive. 20€ a month +. I spend a week making a website just to then find out that thesse lying snakes want me to pay up. Im not giving them a dime.
Honestly, it's quite difficult to use and the site looks like trash even with my professional logos-- and never mind that I can't actually use my headline banner for the site without paying a developer to make a tiny code change. I'm embarrassed to use this for my business because it looks so amateurish.
The tools are clumsy, the FAQ and support are useless, and everything is extremely basic looking. Making even the most basic edits to a section takes forever due to lag and the extreme limitations of their "optimized" site options-- you get three that look almost exactly alike, you can't create your own color palette, only use pregenerated ones, and even after uploading libraries of photos, they always direct you to "recommended" stock photography that has nothing to do with your business.
The actual purpose of this "easy" web-builder is to get you to pay for more and more extras that will just eat up more of your time-- aka your business's money-- until you're forced to hire a developer so it won't look like a toddler made the website while asleep.
I won't be renewing my subscription, to say the least.
I've purchased many products via WIX over the past few years, and I'd consider myself a good customer (though I learned today, not at all valued by WIX). Today, I contacted WIX customer service after noticing a recurring charge for an email address product that was never used. The email was apparently connected to a domain/website that was set up for a few weeks only, for market testing, and then canceled approximately 9 months ago. WIX has been charging me for this unused (never set up) email for the last 9 months. Shockingly, WIX refused to refund this charge. I did not intend to have this email. It was a mistake. I did not and would not intentionally agree to the terms of having this email. Yet, WIX refused to assist a long term customer to correct an obviously mistaken charge. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! Extreme display of corporate greed. Very displeased with the result.
I was sold on their customer service but found out it sucks! Over the phone they admitted it. I had told them what I wanted to do before I signed up I was told "no problem, we have experts that will help you", after multiple attempts finally one of their experts said it can't be done. I canceled my 1 year subscription but no refund. Worst platform for starting a store. Stay away!
One of my biggest regrets in life to date has been choosing to use Wix as the website builder for my business. It has caused me so much grief, trouble and frustration and had an impact on my mental health. Unfortunately, I am so far into the process now that it's difficult to change. My advice to anyone would be to avoid this company. Their customer service and support line is non-existent. They do not help, avoid replying to you and most departments are only email contact (not via telephone). Therefore, any issues that need to be resolved are rarely done quickly. In fact I have an ongoing issue of two years. Just back and forth emails (2-3 weeks for them to reply to each one) and the issue never gets resolved. Furthermore, really basic functions never work. There always seems to be a technical issue or glitch. These technical issues can have devastating impacts on your business. My most recent issue is that suddenly wix decided to not allow customers become members to my site. Considering i am a membership based business, and becoming a 'site member' should be a basic function, I am absolutely shocked that this issue has arisen. No support, help or guidance has been given so far - just 'we need time to investigate'. I doubt I will hear back from there and will need to keep contacting them to get at least some response / acknowledgement that they are trying to fix it.
I am seriously so tired of this. I wish I never started with Wix. I think taking three years out to learn coding to create my own site from scratch would have been easier. Hindsight is a wonderful thing!
I am trying to set up a site for my new small craft business and, sadly, chose Wix and paid $324 for a one year subscription. After weeks of trying to build my site, I realized it was fruitless because I do not know Java Script and it was not made clear on the sign-up site that I needed to know this. I requested a partial refund of my yearly fee (perfectly willing to pay for the month used) but the company denied my refund with no explanation. I gave them one-star because 0 stars is not an option.
I can't help but think I am not the only one in this position.
Choose ANY OTHER company but Wix.
Use another billing service, I have heard Stripe works well. They do not give you the money that was paid.
I supplied some services and they held my money and said that I had hit a new earning threshold. I made $440.00 and now the extra $210.00. They told me they need a bank statement to prove I held the account. I will not give them my personal bank statement, and I no longer have a business account. They refused to accept a voided even if they accepted it the first time. They are stealing my money and it looks like this is a familiar pattern with them. STAY AWAY THEY ARE THIEVES! They should be put out of business and in prison.
I cancelled my wix.com account in Dec. I was charged 78.42 in July so I rang my bank to recover it. Days later wix.com charged me 145.20!
I poked the bear! Had to cancel my card. Still trying to recover funds.
I had been using wix integrated with square as my pos quite happily until one day it stopped working after sending out a email marketing blast. Which I only found out after customers contacted me alerting me their payment info was not being accepted. I spent an hour on support from customer service who was friendly but had no idea how to fix it. They said they would get back to me in 48 hrs... so I switched from using the square integration to wix to accept payments (seems a little convenient that the bug they couldn't fix forced me to do this) tried to verify to send to my bank and all seemed well. $2000 of sales later and the next morning I get notified that I can't accept payouts because there is an issue verifying my account. Now with customer support again wasting valuable time. Freaking ridiculous. 2 hours wasted with customer service. Still not able to receive payouts.
I tried to buy the mail through Wix with my domain, they charge me with the whole year without saying that the email just has 30 gb of storage, which don't help ANYONE, I was open to do an upgrade, and guess what?, ITS IMPOSSIBLE, they cant do it, so they send my info to google, I'm still waiting on a refound that its never arriving.
After all of this i had to buy a new domain and pay to have an email directly with google, i changed my email on WIX, and then when i finally tried to do the upgrade to a business account, they say that i cant get the discount because the account belonged to another mail,. I said thats a problem of them, and told me to go ahead paid everything AGAIN, and they will do a refound of this too.
Which i know from what already happen will not happen
I Which i have the power, time, or money to recover all the time I spent trying to recover my money.
It's the best DIY site builder I've found anywhere if you want a WISIWYG (what you see is what you get) builder. Well done, Wix!
Horrible customer service they take money out of your bank without your authorization, double the price this year for my subscription, if I try to cancel the service they cancel my domain "which is my domain"
Since I already pay for this year, I will continue for one more year but I will not use them any longer. My cc has a restriction now in order for my card to be used the bank will request from me a pin number... SO WIX our bank knows you are a fraudulent company.
I was a "Wix Partner" for several years which meant that if you contacted Wix needing help designing your website, I would be one of the people they would recommend. Well that's how it worked in the early days. Wix partners had to be proficient on the platform, answer customer inquiries quickly and be sure to stay up on the latest in their training. In return we received... nothing. Literally nothing, no discounts, no free plans, nothing.
After doing this for 3 years, I stopped being a free WIX employee. I found that they started charging my clients (and myself) for rudimentary parts of the website that had always been part of the plan fee, on top of raising the base prices. Almost everything was becoming alá carte. Finally I started moving my clients off of WIX and over to Squarespace, where they could save money and have more for their dollar. WIX was out for money at all costs, customer service be damned.
I had built over 300 websites for customers on WIX, I had 15 different websites of my own. Recently I went back to get my domains and content I pay for it and guess what? WIX won't allow me access to it. I pay for it sure, they just won't let me get to it. They literally said "We will not restore your access." That's all, no explanation.
Because I stopped bringing in business? So what? They didn't pay me. I wasn't given discounts. I worked for them for free so in exchange they garnish my intellectual property?
If you think this is the worst WIX does, you're wrong. They can and will steal your designs. They are absolutely ruthless. They are truly a terrible company on every level.
Terrible customer service and they have sneaky methods of charging you or increasing the price without requesting your consent
I was accepted on the Enterprise Allowance Scheme run by the Government, which you receive a extra £65 a week to help start a new business. I took out a premium plan at a cost of £138 for advertising on Facebook and Instagram and a further £24 for my website. I'm 4 months into it now, no sales feel let down and that I've wasted the money.
Answer: There not bad, but they offer really poor customer Service skills. Doesn't matter how long you do business with them the only thing they care about is your money. So if you dont stay 100% on top of things on your end your screwed.

Answer: No no no
Answer: I've been trying them for days now, with no luck! The recording first said, that "due to call volume, i would have to call back when they next opened on Monday (feb 13th!)" which means that they haven't changed their answering message for days! Then I tried this morning, and there is a new recording that saids that they will next be open on Tuesday feb Feb 21st! So. Fuck. Seriously. We can't afford to rebuild our whole site again with another service! And i've/we've had WIX for over 6yrs now..
Answer: Hi, I apologize for the inconvenience this has caused. We'd like to assist you in resolving this error as soon as possible. Please contact us at [email protected] for further assistance, or call us at 1-800-6000-949.
Answer: One of the things that really bother me with Wix (besides them being so focused on extracting money from their customers that they tend to forget about everything else) is that they make these changes and do not care one bit to inform their customers that they are going to do this, so all of the sudden one has a site that doesn't function and unless one keeps checking daily whether everything still works as it should, one end up having problems. That's one of the reasons why I'm out and do not plan to use them much longer.
Answer: Please don't. It's just a scam to take your money and give no service.
