While I am not trying to say that the creators of WGT are any less valuable as people, I must point out that this game had to be designed by someone who has no idea about how golf actually works. If you have even played golf or seen it on tv, you know that you can hit a ball out of the sand or rough loads farther in real life than you can on this game. In fact, the maximum distance that you hit clubs in this game is at most three times less than the average tour pro could. Another thing about the rough is that if your ball lands in grass taller than one inch, you lose about one hundred yards on the shot. If by some chance you make lethally accurate contact with the ball, I feel it is my duty to tell those who haven't rage quit yet that the club yardages are crap. The distance they give you accounts for how far the ball rolls after it lands, and depending on the firmness of the ground and the speed and direction of the wind, you are lucky if you get the ball to go three quarters of its already restricted distance. Lastly, I want all you to tell me if you have ever seen a ball hook left with 30 mile per hour cross winds from the right, yet slice like a darn boomerang in 3 mile per hour cross winds from the left. Can you say the word "PHYSICS"!

Being forced to pay as I play. This Turf War will cost 37 credits per clash plus they want you to pay 250 credits for the spin meter. That, s $5.00. Was great when playing friends but they have decided not to play I guess for this reason as they are not online and have not responded to my invites when on.? Well maybe WGT will get the hint and put it back the way it was. I, ll try the turf war and see if it, s worth it. Other than that still fun to play alone.

Graphics - amazing. Literally every other aspect - complete $#*!! Do u like being able to see where you're hitting the golf ball? Yeah... That doesnt apply for this game. Any measurement given be it wind, yards to pin, yards above or below the hole... I think these are just numbers on the screen to make this appear like a real golf game. These numbers as well as your skill as a gamer are rendered useless with this incompetent game. Enjoy!

It is clear this game is ONLY out for your money. I have extensive experience with applied statistics and this game appears to adjust the variance for players once they own clubs for a while.

From playing over 500+ hours it seems like the longer you own a set of clubs, the bigger the variance gets. This makes shots less accurate and you're ultimately forced to spend more for club upgrades. When I first bought new clubs the variance is set low - as you play and play, the variance seemingly grows making shots more difficult. To consistently do well you have to keep spending money.

It only makes sense for the programmers to make the game more difficult for players who pay money because these players have demonstrated a commitment to spend money. These are the players WGT should be catering to by making a game with integrity. But in the end, the almighty dollar wins out and WGT KNOWS it can't get money from players who don't spend anything. Their recurring revenue source will instead have to cone from players who have already shown they will spend money on the site.

I wish someone would file a class action lawsuit against the developers of this game. It should be easy to gain discovery of the coding method and show they fraudulently rig the game for profit and deceive the consumer.

The World Golf Tour free game is essentially a rip off of the long time online golf game Shot Online. Both operate in the same manner. If you want to play better and progress in the game you need to spend real money. And, a lot of money. However, if you don't care about shooting poor rounds and all you want to do is waste online time playing golf, then either one is for you. What the difference is between WGT and Shot Online is the fun. Shot Online is much more fun than WGT. However, WGT has real courses in the world that are actually sponsored by the courses themselves. That is one thing that Shot Online will probably never have. If I have to choose between the two, I'll take Shot Online from South Korea any day over this WGT from NBC. WGT is stupid.
