If it were possible I would give this no stars at all. Not only do they not keep your money safe, but they make you jump through hoops in order to get your money back. Then when you call and try to complain. They get smart with you and just keep apologizing. Saying sorry, we gave you the wrong information. Now I'm out at $1000 that I have to bend over backwards and do c***That shouldn't need to be done in order to get it back. And I still don't have my money remaining in my account. Do not get a walmart money card it is not worth it. They have the worst customer service of any business I have dealt with. In one night, I spent four hours on the phone, was hung up on three times, and put on hold at one point for over fifty eight minutes. I'm seriously considering taking legal action.
I bought gas. They kept the authorization money plus the price of gas. I thought it was the gas station so I went to a different station next time. Same thing happened. Walmart has kept literally $275 that they refuse to give back.
Thirteen years ago this was a very decent product to choose from. I'm in the process of leaving then now. They will not assist me in finding $690 taken from my account. They send me on constant wild goose chases. The money was paid out over a month ago and I'm still locked out of my account.

I was a customer for 4/5 years. Last year(July 2022)I was disputing transactions I didn't make after my card was lost & stolen. They decided without warning to close my an account. Almost a year later I got a letter in the mail (June/2023) one of the disputes was reviewed & came back it was wrongly denied so I was owed a refund from that dispute.It is now September/2023 & I'm still getting the run around. Sent in by email all documents they asked for & im being told it will be 32-60 days until I get my refund after they review my documents. It is over a year sine I made the original dispute & they are basically saying it takes almost a year & a half to get my money that's owed to me. This is horrible & ridiculous. DO NOT BANK WITH WALMART OR GREENDOT CORPORATION. Unprofessional, rude & just all around bad & horrible banking & customer service!
They don't care about people. Took me 3 weeks to get a replacement card. Keep saying a glitch in the system. I will not use them anymore once my direct deposit goes into my new account. Beware people they are getting worse.

My recent purchase of a Walmart MoneyCard for 101 dollar with 100 dollar face value to give a friend for her graduation. First happed is that she cannot use it. Latter when she can use it, it lost 11 dollars already. When I called the comstomer serive based on the number from the card, there is only computer talk, it said I have a nagative balance. This seems like a scam to me. This make me wonder how good is of a quality level for overall Walmart services. I wonder why Walmart would keep this scam item with them.

This is a HORRIBLE company, I have had many issues with them since I got my card a few months ago. Recently I got charged three times at a gas station but on the gas station side it didn't go through. When I checked my account there were three pending charges. This was on August 27th and I have been calling walmart ever since. I either can't get through or the person I talk to has no solution to this problem. Now they are telling me it should be back in the account Sept 7th. As soon as it's figured out I will be closing this account. I would not recommend them to anyone. I hope someone files a lawsuit because it is needed.
I had someone steal money from my card. I called and can't even speak with anyone in their dispute department because "they're too busy" I have been waiting for someone to call me back from that department for 3 days. Spoke with someone on Wednesday and she transferred me to dispute, was on hold for over an hour and no one picked up. Also, found out in order to dispute the money has to actually be paid, it can't be pending and then you as the consumer have to write a letter to Green Dot to get your money back. Bunch of BS! You can barely understand the customer reps and they're rude. Once I get my money back, they will not have to ever worry about me as a customer again and I will discourage as many ppl as I can not to deal with this company
We have banked with these fools for over a decade and it's never been worth it. The straw that broke the camel's back occurred on August 5,2023. Our card was compromised so we promptly reported it and had the old card canceled. We were told the new card would come in 7-10 business days, which was fine because our bills are due on the first and we had paid all of them. My husband's direct deposits go in on the 1st and 15th so we had plenty of time in that 7-10 business days to get the new cards, get them activated, and go on with our lives. After day 10, I called and they said something about a system error and they sent out a second card (charging me $3). After day 16 and still no cards, I called again. They didn't charge me this time but still no cards. I am at day 20 and no cards. It is August 29 and my bills are due in a couple days. I have over $3400 in my account and no way to access it. The power, light, and mortgage companies don't take "I haven't received a replacement debit card" as an excuse. I can't use the routing numbers either until the new card (that I don't think even exists) shows up and is activated. We plan to cancel our account as soon as we move the money. I will never use GreenDot ever again.
I got my own resolved and I was able to access my funds send a mail greendothelpcentre@ aol.com for a fast response and solution.
I have been trying to get in touch with customer service because of an unauthorized charge, and they are constantly telling me that someone will call me "right back". No one has and there is only one way to get to the company to file a dispute. I believe that they are the one who made the illegal purchase on my card.
I've had this card for over 10 years. I got it back when I couldn't get a bank account. It came with a checking and routing number once i got the permanent card in the mail after getting the temporary from the store, which did help me pay bills and receive direct deposit from my employers. Back then some places accepted prepaid payment methods. Now because all of the scams that took place where these types of cars were used to do so (not by me of course) no one accepts them anymore. I use this card to receive my annual IRS refund because the text alerts keep me informed and I love that about this card. What I don't like is that I can hardly use it anywhere. Like for travel. No rentals no hotels. I travel quite often. Monthly actually. Fraud is my biggest issue with this card. Every few months I'm needing to replace my card because somehow strange charges accrue on my account. The moment I'm asked if I recognize these charges (via text alert) of course I say no and immediately my card is frozen. Money caught up, no chance to pull out cash or anything. If I say yes I lose the money. If I say no, I lose the money. How Cruel is that?!? Then, talking to the fraud department there's a long hold time, they want you to fill out forms and mail them in...AND it takes 10 business days to get another one. Who knows what needed to be done in that 2 weeks time. AND AND if you want it sooner, you gotta pay them! Can you believe it? Walmart is a cruel company. We all know this. I try to have a few bank accounts for a little financial stability but this card is on its way out the door. I can't keep losing money then spending money to have my money. It's modern day torture. Maybe I'm a bit dramatic but these are issues that I know I'm not alone on. This type of card is not designed for long term use if you're not a teenager. Use it as a normal disposable prepaid card or live through my struggles.
While Walmart money card is having tons of technical issues, I have been a faithful customer. One thing that is something I would leave is that I went to a Walmart store and used the ATM. I was charged $3 off the top for machine fee, and $2.50 for Walmart fee. I was at Walmart using their Walmart money card! Usually even banks don't charge fee's if your using their card and their ATM.
Both cards don't care if you are a victim of fraud. If you call to report issues they simply put you on hold for hours without resolution. They are not insured and don't care about their customers. I tried to reach assistance for over 3 hours without success. I'll never shop in walmart or use greendot card EVER again!
Your customer service has to be the worst to deal with by far! I have been with you for years just for the convenience of Walmart and all but your cs is horrible. Please work on this, please
I have $8000 and can't use any of it at any bank to pay my mortgage been on hold every day for the last week for 2-3 hours each time and yet to talk to a real person, I have used this card for over 10 years and today is the last straw no more I want to somehow get my money off cut up the card and take a big steamy S^%# on it and mail it back to where it came from

I always have had a pretty successful or fulfilling relationship with my prepaid visa Walmart money card. Do not buy any Walmart prepaid money cards. Because when it expires, they do not send you a new card and cut off all avenues to get your money off of the card

I have over 1k in my account. I went to the store & my card is declined. They turn the phones off & no one can call. No email or text about the technical difficulties. No idea when to expect it to be fixed. Ppl have emergencies. Where's the memo about our money! Switching banks asap! I don't need this company! I have a credit union! I got this card years ago because I needed a debit card at the time due to an emergency! Non of their reps speak good English. Cheap, unprofessional company. Do not get a card with them!
