The overall reputation of the company is marred by significant customer dissatisfaction, particularly regarding its customer service and support mechanisms. Many users report a lack of effective communication and responsiveness, with automated replies dominating interactions. Concerns about fraudulent activities and inadequate buyer protection are prevalent, leading to financial losses for both buyers and sellers. While some customers appreciate the platform's user interface and initial successful transactions, these positives are overshadowed by the overwhelming sentiment of frustration and distrust, indicating a pressing need for improvements in customer service and policy enforcement.

We monitor reviews for authenticity
Horrendous site do not sell and do not buy. These people are insane. They take down all my listings claiming its not my stuff. It ridicules and makes no sense.
Do not use - you are taking a huge gamble - we paid for goods and they never arrived. Vinted say they can do nothing about this even though we purchased using their site. It should be stopped as a website. As they are registered in Lithuania you have no chance in taking legal action
I bought a Burberry bag on Vinted.co.uk immediately after opening the package I noticed the item seems counterfeit, not only did it feel totally wrong (coated canvas does not feel like rubber) there was also no serial number, it smelled of plastic, the lettering of the inside label was wrong. I am very familiar with Burberry and own quite a lot of their bags, even vintage ones, I trusted the site as they charged me a buyer protection fee in case an item was not as described or fake. I immediately notified them, provided pictures of why the item is fake, the missing serial number, the lettering not done correctly, 2 days later they decided it is authentic, nobody really examined the actual item. The seller (who possibly found it in a charity shop) has the money, I am out of my money with no way to reach them as they only give automatic answers. I got in touch with Burberry regarding authenticity checks and was told that with a missing serial number an item has to be physically checked to be declared authentic - this is from BURBERRY they know their own items, yet some website thinks by looking at pictures they can declare something as authentic! Even if the pictures show this item is not authentic!
Furthermore the bag was sold as new without tags, how can a bag that is new without tags have signs of use and smell also a stain!
Since somebody has thoughtfully provided the address of Vinted (I was looking for it everywhere) I have now contacted Citizens Advice.
My experience with the site was a mixed bag, I sold 2 designer items, got the money and the buyer's were happy, when I bought I got a lot of rubbish, especially when it was small items, some of them obviously damaged (sunglasses with the arms missing as they had no screws - never disclosed) because the seller figured sending it back will cost you money...
Full of scammers!
WARNING - DO NOT USE! I was scammed out of £30 - Jumper certified as lost by Hermes, seller stopped communications, Vinted told me it's too late to suspend payment as "I had two days" to click on the "I have an issue button". I was also sent a phishing text message to a fake Hermes website as I was waiting for resolution, asking for my credit card details, which I'm sure is related. I think seller/Vinted found a way to declare the package lost with Hermes (it never left the collection place) and then. Complete and utter SCAMMER website. STAY WELL CLEAR
Useless once I receive my money I will be closing my account It is just not worth the hassle I recommend selling your stuff elsewhere
Difficult to log in if there is money in your account. Text code never received.
Website has no chat facility or email address for customer service.
I spent over 30 mins trying to send an email to vinted due to the irritating search functions in the help box. Trying to make it too difficult for a customer to email them!
Emails frequently received in French?!
Worst selling websites i have used. Worth paying a small selling fee and sticking to ebay or gumtree.
Avoid
Customer service is appalling. I was sent a dress that was a size 14 but was described as age 14. When I complained Vinted still released the funds to the seller even though the product was mis-sold. I found them extremely unhelpful. It was quite upsetting to know you have been duped and the customer services are not interested in rectifying the matter. They were not interested in the least. I closed my account. I'd recommend that you choose eBay or another company with better integrity. I have since seen the sheer volume of bad reviews which speak for themselves.
Hermes took a month to deliver. So buyer cancelled sale, got refund. Item arrived. Buyer got refund +
First time tried with my friend, offered her nike air max (2x) which she never wears at a normal price. Without consultation, question or warning we get a message that they are fake, ads removed. What a bad service. We prefer to solve this with customer service, but if Vinted communicates in one direction, we will do that too.
First I have to put at least one star enable to write a review but for me if there are a minus stars I'll do it Vinted they protect only buyer I sold jacket and was absolutely in very good condition after the buyer received it she sent a picture for a ripped totally different jacket and asked for refund after I reject the return and asked the buyer to send more picture what she did she ripped my jacket and send a picture anyone can see that the first picture she send and claimed its my jacket not for the same jacket she ripped but vinted team decided to do the return
Received empty box that seller has shipped to me without the product inside. Reported to Vinted. As soon as I picked up the parcel that something was wrong. Long story short seller and vintedpurchase protection is a joke. They steal your money leaving you with empty Hands. Never again
Update 11/10/2021: They also threaten to close your account when they are the ones that did not resolve the issue covering up by the messages that they were not contacted within 2 days. I have messaged the customer support within 10 minutes after signing for my parcel at the depot, after I was trying to get an answer from the seller who did not respond at the time.
Well, I should of listened and took notice of these reviews but I didn't So I also am a victim of a dishonest Vinted buyer. I was sucked in by their TV adverts and never having dine anything like this before I thought I would give it a go. Well I put some items up for sale and very quickly I had been informed a item of mine had been sold, instructions were given on sending to buyer so I followed the instruction and was told £10.99 was paid by buyer and pending arrival of item. Well royal mail has told me item delivered, buyer has not confirmed weeks have past customer service useless and not interested. I would like to shame buyer Ioz******* as dishonest and hope her conscience pricks her when wearing my coat jumper.
Mods will take down your entire store or straight out ban you without warning or reason, but if you get scammed or a parcel gets lost by the courier they don't help you at all.
Vinted, nice idea but there is a thing called CoVid all over the planet. How does CoVid spread? By touch. If you're not worried about this, Vinted offer no protection / insurance for the buyer or the seller. Shame, but eBay and Amazon are safer. I do not work, have never worked for eBay or Amazon and don't know a single person who has / does.
Over the past couple years I have sold at least a few hundred items on different sites such as eBay, poshmark, Mercari and Vinted. I have never sold anything that wasn't authentic and only twice has an item's authenticity been questioned. The first time was on Poshmark for a Tory Burch purse that was a few years old. The buyer complained that it was fake, it wasn't but I understand that since I couldn't show a receipt Poshmark agreed to refund the sale once the buyer had returned the item. I think they gave her 3 days to do it. She never did, so the refund never happened.
I recently listed a Michael Kors wallet on Vinted. It was about 10 years old, and had been used so I sold it for only $8. The buyer bundled with a pair of shoes so got both for only $9.90! She contacted Vinted today and said the wallet was fake. I know it wasn't because I bought it myself in person from Michael Kors store. Vinted canceled the sale which I would be ok with since I can't prove the authenticity but they never even discussed with me, and they told her not to return the items, so she got a Michael Kors wallet and a pair of shoes for free! What's to deter any buyer from cheating the system this way! My communication with Vinted has been beyond infuriating as they just say insulting and threatening things about me selling counterfeit items! I've sold over 150 items on Vinted alone and this is my reward. I won't be selling with them in the future.
What an absolute mess. Completely incompetent customer service representatives. Lack of proper infrastructure to even handle customers. Maybe before entering the Canadian market they should have fixed themselves up rather than speeding themselves even more thinly. I am completely dumbfounded how anyone uses this platform.
Ive been a buyer and seller on Vinted for 3 years now and apart from the odd seller not describing things correctly its been a great experioence. It saves me a fortune in buying overpriced new clothes and I make a bit of extra cash selling what I no longer like. I get a lot of my grandchildren's clothes from here too. Its the difference between them wearing Boden and Next or Primark and H&M.
On a negative note if a seller sends something wrong or damaged it is under Vinted rules that the buyer has to pay for return of that item. I think this is totally wrong and Vinted should have a method by which the seller is billed the return postage if the arbitrator agrees with the return.
All in all I really like Vinted and will continue to use it for years to come.
Vinted was recommended by a friend and, as a massive eBay fan, I thought I'd give it a try. I purchased a pair of glasses from a seller on Vinted and due to them not being adequately packaged, they arrived badly damaged. Vinted refuses to do anything about it because I didn't 'click a button' within two days of arrival (I was working away and hadn't even opened the parcel.) You're charged a percentage of your sales total on Vinted, usually a few pounds per transaction on top of the actual price, and you're told it is a 'buyer protection fee'. What a laugh. There is no protection. Vinted seems to think it can circumvent UK trading standards laws. It can't. I'll be contacting my card provider as well as Trading Standards. I suggest you all do the same.
Sold a £120 item on vinted when the buyer received them she said she didn't want them vinted refunded her she still has my item and her refund she has blocked me when I'm asking why had she not sent my item back to me. Vinted said they can't get involved it's between me and the buyer I cant I sort it out when the buyer had blocked me vinted will not help me and continue to let the buyer still use the site so basically vinted are supporting criminals to rip people off. This site needs to be closed down ASAP this had made me feel really poorly the whole experience as been a nightmare
Vinted is not for luxury items, this is a portal where you sell all your trash. It is for 2 Euro buyers who still complain and you just do not give a damn about it. Vinted platform is perfect for the lowest of the lowest and have earned lots of money selling things I first thought was better to throw away.
The Vinted customer care is the worst ever and people there are surely low paid staff due to their poor communication skills, if they even communicate at all. Trash deserves trash, and Vinted is the perfect portal for this. For serious sales, stay on higher quality platforms. Cost bit more, but you get what you pay for.
Answer: Well you can't. You need to do your homework when asking questions to a seller. Request additional pictures too. The seller never has access to your money until you "receive" and accept the items. So if you get a designer item you have questions about take it to your nearest high-end consignment. If you find the item is not real simply let CS know under the accepting. Tell them what the problem is. More likely than not you will get a return request label. Just send it back and all your money if refunded. On Poshmark all items over $500 are automatically sent to a Posh center to be authenticated before its sent to you. The best way to know your getting the real deal is buy from again a local high-end consignment or an online that specializes in only a few brands rather than any. It takes a lot of training to become an expert on authentication.
