The Vermont Country Store

One on the worst retail experiences ever. Order was totally botched after they were unable to fill it and back ordered some items. Then I was slapped with another unauthorized charge to my debit card. Shame on you. Your hokey Vermont accent on the long hold I was on was also annoying. Vermont Country Store will never see another cent from me. They are incompetent and dishonest in my opinion. You be the judge.

Ordered products and still waiting after almost two weeks. They took two days or them to process the order then they shipped it by UPS Surepost. I have yet to receive the order after almost two weeks! I ordered from two other companies at the same time and received everything else within 3 days.
Truly Horrible Service, I'll never buy from them again.

I ordered a gift for Christmas that never arrived. Two emails to their "customer service" received no reply.

I ordered my mother-in-law's favorite perfume for a Christmas gift and she forgot she told me about it, so she called and ordered it for herself. Some wonderful person on the phone with her tried to refuse her three times, because they obviously knew that same bottle of perfume was on it's way to her. She insisted on purchasing the perfume for herself, and received my gift today. Now she'll have two bottles of her favorite perfume. That's my Vermont Country Store story!

I posted a review a couple of days ago about problems I've had with The Vermont Country Store. Two days later and they still have not answered any of my e-mails. I did get a message, 2-3 days after I requested they cancel the shipment, that the item had been sent, scheduled for delivery today. UPS tracking, today at approximately 2 pm, told me the package had been delivered at 12:30 pm, IT HAD NOT. I contacted UPS and there is no way you can speak to a person, the computer will tell you that the package has been delivered. I went to the Vermont Country Store web site to the option called "Live Chat" and waited for the Live Chat Rep to join the conversation, got tired of waiting after 5 minutes. Did send another message that I have no hope of ever being answered. If you are considering ordering items from The Vermont Country Store allow me to state again DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME!

Last Thursday 10/21/2021 I ordered two bags of what I always called soda crackers from the Vermont country store order # ******* and they did send me a conformation email and the order was $20.85 and a day or so later and email from them with a tracking # and stated label created and the next day and email stating my order had shipped. Well as of today 10/27/2021 UPS states no pick up and the order is being shipped UPS smart post and USPS does not have the package as i have contacted both of them and i have sent the Vermont country store four emails about plus had a on line chat with them yesterday and was told my order was shipped 10/22/2021 but there second email states shipped 10/23/2021. I looked at my credit card statement and they got there $20.85 i had looked at there reviews and i see why there rating is only Two and a half stars. The chat i had with them they were told i will never order from them again and i will call them today. SO" be ware of the Vermont country store they do not tell the truth. I wanted to place an order and tried "chatting" to inquire as to whether or not they offered promotion codes for first time customers. I was told they offered free shipping; however that was an offer made to everyone. I then asked if the prices were to reduce prior to being shipped for the holidays, if they would honor the sale price. They would not. So, basically, they do nothing for first time customers, which is okay; however, there was no incentive for me to purchase from them. I never received a welcome or any willingness to assist me. The chat person either left or disconnected before answering my final question. I was not impressed and will place my order elsewhere. I am not sure about their products because I never even got to that point.

I recently ordered two nightgowns from this store. I paid and exorbitant price but I accepted that because I was led to believe these items were made in America. I received the two gowns that were allegedly "made in America" and noted that one was made in Canada and the other was made in Hungary. I am unimpressed and will never purchase anything from them again. I would send them back except I don't want to spend any more money. I am disgusted.

Really disappointed with the red plaid flannel blanket and gray underside. Super thin blanket. I expected better quality than this for the 100.00 blanket. Lots and lots of fabric but not a quality blanket.
I do not recommend these blankets and I will not buy another one from here. I bought cute flannel sheets from resale, sandwiched them together and got super nice blanket.

I received the robe that I ordered a couple days ago. It is exactly as described on your website. Just the right length with long enough sleeves to take one fold to be perfect. The cotton material is super soft and I know I'll get many years of wear from it. My terry, ankle length robe is too warm for all but the coldest days and my knee length cotton robe is great for really warm days. This one is great for everything in between. Thanks for the super fast shipping too.

I ordered 2 panels of the Macrame Medallion Tier Curtains. (they are so pretty). I have, in the past, purchased these curtains from another store and the length of the tiers was always uneven. The 2 panels I just ordered from The Vermont Country Store came today and they are both the SAME length! I was so happy to see that the tiers were the same size. I was very worried that they would not be. I also ordered 2 of the Colebrook valances. They are lovely and look so nice in my kitchen. I also have 2 of the Macrame Medallion panels in another window in my kitchen and they are not the same length at all. They came from another store that recently closed. I am pretty picky so I'm going to order 2 more of the right length macrame tiers from The Vermont Country Store. Thank you Vermont Country Store for your great service and for carrying quality curtains.

I received my order in a very timely fashion and I will order from The Vermont Country Store again!

This company has gone so down hill. It took 6 weeks to get an item and then it was the wrong item. I tried to talk with a Kara Bennett about it and she was very rude. The management is horrid. They have to many chiefs and not enough Indians. I was on the phone for an hour waiting for them to pick up. Don't buy from this company anymore. They don't have enough qualified people for the job there suppose to do.

Poor Customer Service, Overpriced, Free Shipping is a SHAM. I made two orders for b'day gifts, with each over $65 to get the free shipping... Free shipping means--wait 2 - 3 weeks, and maybe then you might receive. Very disappointing and poor customer service response.

VCS used to be a trusted name in catalog mail order... now they're basically a scam. Ordered a dress, was told I'd receive an email alerting me when it shipped. I never received an email, contacted them (took a few attempts), was told their tracking showed it would be delivered that same day. Was not delivered. Emailed them for shipping confirmation and tracking number. Crickets. Reporting this to my credit card company as a fraudulent charge.

I ordered a patio door curtain that was listed as in stock. That was on April 8th. Today is May 12th! I have called at least 3 times and was told our item was on back order. When I asked why was it listed as in stock, their answer ( the page just wasn't updated)! As of this morning I was told our order would ship tomorrow! What a run around! Will never order from Vermont Store again!

Ordered on line. Have to return product as way too big for a medium. They dont answer the phone. Kept me on hold for over 20 minutes before i gave up repeating folksy messages how they would answer soon. Finally "chatted" from the website. It was a hassle also. They couldnt just email me a label I could print. Had to use snail mail. Then they sent a catalogue! I am trying to get off their mailing lists. Decades ago this was a great place. No longer. Overpriced as well. Dont waste your tie,

Horrible experience. Do not recommend anyone use this business for anything. I was looking for the Vermont Country Store in Shelburne, cannot believe they are out of business? This website is some crooked outfit that monopolizes the internet. Wanted to get to the real Vermont Country Store in Shelburne Vermont and buy something specific I know they have, my family has gone to that store for generations. Ended up buying from this website and found they are nothing more than a giant scheme trying to sell everything you would normally find in any Vermont Country Store. Bad customer service and slow shipping.
