They make you wait 24 hours before the funds are available...what?!?! Such a joke. AVOID AT ALL COST. There is nothing that tell you that on the front end. Very disappointing.
I recently purchased a $250 vanilla gift card. For some reason after 3 transactions the card had a hold placed on the remaining balance. I contacted customer service and they told me to send documentation to *******@incomm.com because another individual claimed they had the card and it was stolen. That was impossible since I opened the card directly from the package. I provided the vanilla company with copies of the actual card front and back, photo ID, and the receipt with the serial number from where the card was purchased. That was about a month ago and still no feedback from the company. Contacting customer service is a nightmare also because you generally are on hold for 30 to 45 minutes and then the customer service rep states you'll hear back from the disputes team in about 2 to 3 business days and that was about a month ago. They're essentially useless in helping with your problem. Extremely frustrating. It feels like they hope you'll give up and then the remaining balance never gets claimed. Imagine the money saved by the company if they make it this difficult for every dispute. Even if 10% of the people give up the company saves a fortune. Do yourselves a favor and look elsewhere for your gift cards.
Locked my card for no reason just bc I tried use it on Google and PayPal. Then customer service said it would take 8 days. This is a horrible company
I bought a Vanilla Gift card for my son because I ASSUMED Visa had a good name. He received the ecard and made a purchase. THe card was for $100. The card still has $76 on it but its been put on a hold. The message on your site says "Call the number on the back of your card immediately" but when you call the number on the card, there is no option to address a card on hold. And there is no option to talk to an agent. So basically this company stole $76 from my son. I have every intention of posting this on every single review site there is. There is absolutely NO avenue to address this problem. Essentially Visa is in bed with a gas station card scammer. I will NEVER purchase another visa product. I can be reached at *******183 or *******@live.com
I was given one of these cards as a gift! $22.06 remaining on the card and now I can't use because vanilla gift suspended the card and asked to send a copy of the purchase receipt. Of course I attempted to tell customer service that I was given the card and I have nothing else! I hope this company goes out of business soon. I hope they choke over 22.06.
FOLKS DON'T EVER PURCHASES THESES CARDS FROM VANILLA I'VE BEEN ON THEM FOR 5 MONTHS TRYING TO GET MY MONEY BACK AND THE ONLY THING YOU GET IN RETURN IS PRETTY MUCH A KICK IN THE $#*! YOU GET PEOPLE THAT DON'T SPEAK ENGLISH
PLEASE DO NOT BUY HERE. TERRIBLE!, AFTER DEBITING THE MONEY, THEY TOLD ME THE ORDER WASN'T PROCESSED.
I've bought a Vanilla Gift Card and it would never work. I've tried using their website but it doesn't work either and I've tried calling them. I was on hold for way too long and once someone was there to assist me they just hung up on me. Terrible company shouldn't be a thing.
I bought 1000 worth of gift cards an employee lost the card. I requested a replacement card and vanilla took me to the brink! Do not purchase this card.
This card was given to me as a gift. I followed every instruction to the letter! Now customer service is reluctant to help me! People do not waste your time and money on Vanilla.com products. Now they're saying it'll be 3 weeks to get a refund, I'm not holding my breath. This company sucks!
Every time someone gives mdd edd a vanilla gift card I use one time and my whole balance of $70.00 is always gone this has happened to me like 3 times I feel like their employees are scamming the cards!
I've purchased and received many gift cards. They work great. VANILLA GIFT does not. I found out from customer service( then looked at the web site) that you can NOT use this to purchase ANYTHING over the card amount. So basically you need to leave money on the card. What a rip off. Customer service hung up on me when I questioned how it worked. They BBC are scamming people. Don't but them
I am deeply frustration and outraged regarding the recent incident involving my Vanilla Visa gift card. On [date], I purchased a Vanilla Visa gift card and, to my dismay, I have been unable to access the funds loaded onto the card. It has become apparent to me that my hard-earned money has been wrongfully taken, and I strongly believe that your company is responsible for this unauthorized access to my funds.
My attempts to contact your customer support have been incredibly disheartening. After enduring long wait times of over an hour, I finally reached a representative only to be met with shifting blame onto the merchant and no viable solution to retrieve my money. This experience has left me feeling deceived, frustrated, and deeply disappointed in the level of service provided by Vanilla Visa.
As a consumer, I trusted that my funds would be secure and easily accessible with the Vanilla Visa gift card. However, this incident has shattered my confidence in your company and its ethics. It is alarming to think that this may be a recurring issue affecting other customers who have put their trust in your brand.
I demand an immediate resolution to this matter. I insist on the full refund of the funds loaded onto the Vanilla Visa gift card, including the cost of the card itself. Additionally, I expect compensation for the time, inconvenience, and emotional distress caused by this ordeal.
Please be advised that if this matter is not resolved satisfactorily and promptly, I will have no choice but to escalate my complaint. I am prepared to share my experience on various social media platforms, review sites, and consumer advocacy forums, warning others about the unethical practices of Vanilla Visa and Visa.
I implore you to take this complaint seriously and rectify the situation without further delay. I trust that you will uphold your responsibility to your customers and demonstrate your commitment to consumer satisfaction.
I expect to receive a written response detailing the steps being taken to address this issue and resolve my complaint within [reasonable timeframe, e.g., 10 business days] of receiving this letter. You may contact me at the provided email address or phone number to discuss this matter further.
Your immediate attention to this matter.
Their customer service SUCKS! First try to get through to them. Then you get them on the phone, then you explain everything about a lost card, then you send them several documents to prove your identity including your passport, proof of address and copy of receipt. Then you get an email saying they need you to call back before they can send you a replacement card. Then you try to get them on the phone which can take up to 1/2 then you explain everything all over again, then you get disconnected. Then you call back, wait again 1/2 to get someone on the phone listening to the same garbage ("due to high call volume your wait time may be longer"). Longer than what? Longer than yesterday? Longer than forever? Then you reach customer service which sounds like it is in India, yet again, then you get someone else who does not check your case and tells you your card has zero balance when you just confirmed that you have $100 on your card, then lo and behold Greg or Craig or whatever made up name of the day is hangs up on you. American Express sucks for using these idiots!
Vanilla Gift cards are fraudulent. Apparently they are able to view & use card info for purchases unknown, then when you check balance and see unauthorized charges now there is a systems error & they tell you it's nothing they can do for you. Great way to just lose your money.
Went to the VanillaGift.com website to file a complaint about unauthorized purchase between me & the authorized seller, entered my card info and a msg informed me that my card info was incorrect and to try again or go back to the site in 2 hours, as I type this, I have been on hold on my phone for 33 minutes to try to talk to someone, I will never buy a Vanilla Gift card again in my life!
I hope you will read this and never buy a vanilla gift card. If you have a problem, it will take hours to get customer service on the phone. And then they will give you wrong information and you will have to call back. My card was stolen, they asked me to provide certain information which I did, only they gave me the wrong email address. Hours and hours on hold to get a second wrong email address, and another hour on hold before I finally got the correct one. I started the process of getting a refund 3 weeks ago. Now apparently I'm starting all over. If your time is valuable to you, never ever purchase any product from vanilla!
They suck. Too much hassle to use. You definitely cant use them in self checkout. A nice employee finally found a way to get mine to go through. I don't like that I had to go online to activate and still had issues.
I have been trying for hours to simply find out the usage and balance of my gift card. And ye every time I try, I keep getting "System error. Please try again later." 2 calls to customer service (each taking a half hour on hold first) resulted in only learning 1. The card had been charged. 2 the balance was now zero. 3 the merchant had YET to claim the money although the charge WAS approved...but it could take a couple days to complete...
Now, I must wait a week and the the merchant hasn't 'claimed ' the money, it might revert back to my card...that I still can't check balance due to system error.
This card has no pin or chip. So, most places won't accept it. It is a very big pain to try to redeem it.
Answer: Same here. Called in and they said it was locked for my protection against a fraudulent merchant, which makes no sense since I just opened it myself and used it at a trusted store. Call in and they can re-issue a new card, though that will take several weeks to arrive
Answer: I would say the fraud dept but I had no luck when I opened a fraud case with them. Good luck!
