They don't care I have called and most of the time I get some snobby jerk who won't listen to what I am saying. Or starts talking over me when I am trying to explain something. And another well if you don't have what they want they hang up what the hell. If I was you I would avoid this place. They are not helping people and they don't give a crap if your having issues
These people are the absolute worst in customer service. They will put you through painfully frustrating hoops to try to get your card activated. I've been trying to help my mother who is a senior with bad vision. They won't offer assistance if an customer has another person on the phone trying to assist. It's been at least 10 calls (connected. Not to mention over 100 dial attempts to call), and still have gotten no where with these folks other than they need some other form of verification faxed to them after already having had sent them what they requested previously. They don't give a damn because their default excuse is that they are handling millions of accounts. Obviously they don't have anyone competent enough resolve issues.
I had fraud on my direct express account while i was incarcirated $3,000 was stolen out of my account when i got out of jail i filed a fraud/idenity theft with direct express i even faxed them over FIVE TIMES proof i was in jail when this happen they turned me down and said thier was no fraud done i put in a complaint FIVE DIFFERENT TIMES and each time they closed my case the first time they investigated it for TWO DAYS AND CLOSED IT the second time they investigated it they closed it in TWO DAYS i have ssi and now im fored to pay back that money to ssi they are taken $80 amonth out of my check till the $3,000 is paid back i since left them and went to a REAL BANK direct express is the most horrible company to deal with i would suggest anyone who is useing them or thinking of useing them to think TWICE

I called direct express to dispute a $2 charge I told her to let me deal with the charge as it had a phone number on the charge, and the representative who was very rude decided to cancel my card and my rent is due. I begged her not to cancel my card and she did it anyway and the manager was just as rude. Worst customer service I have ever had. I will never call them ever again.

Direct express allow Apple to take over 1000 dollars in less than 24 hours from my 70 yr old uncle... not all at once either,,, they took 49.99 then 19.99 over and over again until they got his while social security check... WHY IN THE HELL DIDNT THEY STOP IT AFTER THE THIRD SEQUENCE?

The amount of support offered on these cards is minimal compared to other banks - it takes forever to get a hold of a customer service representative. They charge $1.50 for every single transfer of funds from the account on the card to another bank. It's also the only bank I've ever encountered that needs your account to be empty in order to close it - usually they can just mail a check?
Close it out as soon as possible and get yourself a real bank.
I just tried to make a purchase from Walmart online, and they locked my card for placing too many orders with them. I then tried to order from Amazon.com, and the same thing happened! If you do business with a vendor that charges your card when the item ships, it's easy to go over the number of transactions allowed per merchant. Of course, they still hold on to your money, even if you have no way to spend it.
This the worst debit card ever comerica bank is a complete scam they will be ok at first and then out of no where beat out of your money. This place had issues with there website. There was a so called computer glitch. I made a ach transfer for 300 bucks and it was taken off my card however the money never arrived and when i contacted them about this issue they gave me the run around and told me to file a dispute so i do that. About a week later i called customer service to find out the status and a rep says oh the SUPERVISOR yes SUPERVISOR did not do my dispute correctly and she says oh i will credit your account for 300 bucks but this is where the slick lie comes in they debited my external account for 300 bucks and overdrew my account and the money was never found and i was out of 300 bucks do not fool with cormerica bank they are crooks

Had a replacement card not sent on the 2 day promised delivery. Now the automated system is looping me through a tracking # and does not allow further requests for another, and after 5 days calling no one answers. No solution, money locked away no security or chat live agents. Used this for 5 years, now I am bankrupted by a computer run away system. Calls to Social Security get a ' who gives a damn, we don't care' response. Bad system by design.
My 4 year old and I got sick with Covid on Friday 10/1. We have no family to help. I tried to use my card that night online to order us food and it was declined. I called customer service and got a message due to high call volume they couldn't take my call. I tried all night long. Nothing. Saturday 10/2 I again tried all day long to get help. My card would not work anywhere I tried. I finally got through to someone in the dispute office on Sunday 10/3. They said I had to be transferred. I sat on hold 6 more hours and nobody ever picked up. The dispute department refused to help me saying they couldn't. It is now Monday 10/4 and 12 pm. I've been transferred and sitting on hold for 2 hours. I finally got someone in the dispute department. They transferred me to a supervisor who was extremely rude. She said Direct Express blocks cards from being able to be used online due to fraud. They could temporarily allow me to use my card online but it would only be for 3 days, and take 24 hours for the request to be put through. I told her they have put me in an emergency situation, and how important it was for me to be able to use my card now, and I can't go to the atm and go to the store to get supplies. She said "nobody is asking you to go to the atm" and she hung up on me. I am now sitting on hold to try to get back through to someone to help me. I am out of toilet paper, water, food, cat food, and cannot get medicine for my 4 year old or I. My husband is in critical care in the hospital. I explained this to her also and she just hung up on me. This is unbelievable. I don't know what needs to happen, but you better believe I will be looking into how to file a formal complaint against this company, and changing my direct deposit information today.

Yiu are told they have a heavy call volume it dont allow you a choice to remain on the line instead it offers you an online experience which if you are trying to reach them for a lost stolen or never recieved card you never get thru. No ability to leave an email or any live chat it leaves its prospective users unable to resolve their issues which is not business like
As it seems there really isn't no live agents. I WAS TOLD MY UNPDATED CARD WAS SENT ON AUGUST 27 2021 IT IS NOW October 1st 2021 and my card expired on September 30,2021. Now I'm left with no help and no solution

Sept 10 reported fraud on my card. So they stopped the card and told me they would send a new card. I gave a new new address they said they would put a rush on it. They send that one to the in wrong address called again told them went to the address I said was wrong so I again have the address to send. Again they sent to wrong address so for the 3rd time they sent another one which I finally received all the while waiting for them to credit the stolen money from my account back to it which I was told would be today and surprise it's not there by wouldn't you know it they said the dispute form i was supposed to send never arrived. Which is not true i not only emailed them but fax to. I was told the 24th and that's what we it should be because you have my money my daughter and I get to sleep in a car because couldn't pay for our room, which came about when the money got stolen. All i want is my 265 dollars back some and my child can get a roof and some food. But this place has a bunch of heartless people that work there and like hurting children
This is the WORST company I've ever dealt with. They have all my money, and don't allow me to use it to pay any of my bills. Every time I try to pay for something, they block my card, and even after calling to identify myself, they refuse to unblock it. I spend hours at a time on the phone with them, and they change the rules every time. Trying to use the card in public always ends up in humiliation. When I ask why they're blocking me, they say that's not a question they have to answer. Want to spend 12 hours aggravated on the phone, just to pay one bill? Put your money here. I only wish there were zero stars, because they don't deserve even one.
I've been trying to change my personal profile information for the purpose of online I.D. to purchase products since April 2021 unsuccessfully.
This includes changing my pin. I was instructed to fax a copy front and back of license call and verified
Number faxed from. Rep kept asking for the same info that I have no idea when how or who made the changes and totally ignored the fax claiming she needed the bonus info to proceed. The call and wait was abusive.

I've called with problems several times. I receive no help at all. In fact customer service reps are argumentative and completely untrained in their own company policies blatantly posted on their own website. I am more than frustrated. My funds are being with held from me for no reason. Customer service seems to enjoy arguing with me. I could not be more frustrated. I do not recommend this card. We all receive federal funds. We all are living on fixed incomes. They know that and use it against you. Shame on you Direct Express for taking advantage of the disabled and the poor. You are despicable.
Don't recall how many times I've had to call em and go through two or three folks and wait and wait then they write up a ticket with your phone no. To call you back. I sometimes spend hr's into days with this, I don't want to say it. If anything O $#*! it
Answer: Absolutely not! The system is automated if you can meet your need via that system you will be good to go. If you need to speak to a human it could takes hours and days. I've been calling for 4 days. Every hour 2 - 20 calls an hour. I receive the message they have a high call volume, they tell me to try again later and then they disconnect they call. Their practices are abusive.
