Depending on location where truck is picked up and return, they have different policies. And it seems like the main office do not care about other location. Seems like employees do not care at all about their customer. I emailed the main office and all they said is this is our policy and sorry about miscommunication and misleading information. Only sorry but no solution. At this stage, I do not even bother to reply now. Because they do not care about their customer at all. Every employees are probably fed up working there now. SHAME!
Uhaul actually greatly negatively impacted my life tonight. This pick the car up at aibuchon hardware was the biggest kick in nuts a company has done to me. After spending 9 pm to 2 am. I finally was ready to get the code that allowed me access Wait uhaul threw in a curve ball. They need someone to call at 3 am that's a friend of yours so that they can verify Are you fing kidding me. Needless to say. After loosing out on a contract wasting my whole night. Arguing with my fiancé I still didn't get the car. Now I'm tired at 4 am and gitta get up abs do it again tomorrow. But if there is any. Any any company other then I haul. I'll go with them
Obviously I'm not the only one to say this. I get a call from U-Haul two days before I'm supposed to get my truck and they tell me I need to drive 85 miles one way to get the truck and they don't have the one I ordered to begin with I have to get a smaller one. The thing that's most concerning is they just don't care… This is probably one of the worst customer experiences I've had with the company.
I called to make the reservation one week in advance for a 20' truck and I asked the lady to confirm that we are promised to have the truck when we get there. The lady confirmed that uhaul will make sure the truck will be available. They even give me a specific time when I can go pick up the truck. However, when I called 3 days before the pick-up date to ask for some information and make some change, they told me neither 20' nor 26' truck is available now. I asked how come I can not get a truck with my reservation. I was told that reservation does not promise the availability and usually their staff will call 2-3 days in advance to let me know if they have the truck or not. THEN WHAT'S THE POINT OF RESERVATION? And now all my plan is messed up because of it.
I was supposed to pick up the truck at 6:30 am. I received a call from U-haul the day before saying it would 7:30. When we got there they said there were no trucks. It was so stressful because we already hired help on both ends of the move. We finally did get a truck at 9am. The truck had personal belongings and trash from the last user. It was so stinky and disgusting. Our hired help had to clear it out first which took about 30 minutes for two men to do. Then I had to pay someone $150 to haul it off. It was really an awful experience. I had to pay the helpers an extra $200 to stay later to get it unloaded. The pic shows what was in the truck when we opened it.
I was so excited to move my stuff into my new home but upon arrival to pick up my uhaul the website wasn't working so I tried the app and that didn't work either. So I called customer support and after talking to 4 different people and being hung up on I just got a refund and canceled my uhaul. None of the employees knew how to get it to work and said the server must be down then. So now I have to find a new place to rent a truck. I will NEVER use a uhaul again. Truly one of the worst most frustrating experiences ever. Save your money and go somewhere else.
I recently rented the uhaul for 7 days + 700 miles. For the$330 I ended up using it for 1 day and couple hours Theses cheats made their own contract with out notice. And charged me. When on the vans and all rentals say.$19.99 per day. What a joke false advertising. They charged me $126.61. Per day When my 7 day and 700 miles. Is only $330 in total. These UHAUL S are ripping people off. Just like any other car and truck rentals. My rental was 2 days and over 18 miles 19.99x 2. Days. And 0.39 per miles x 18. That's less the $65. With taxes. But they could not explain why I was charged $253. For 2 days. It's doesn't take a genius to figure out. That they are a fraudulent company.
J'ai eu des modifications sur mon contrats sans qu'on me le dise, j'ai dû appeller pour tout regler car le jour d'avant mon déménagement la place ou j'avais reserver mon camions, il n'en avait pas. J'ai du donc quitter mon travail pour aller chercher un camion a 3h de route (le gaz tout à mes frais) sans le kilometrage de plus.
En gros mon déménagement ma couter 400$ de plus en frais de voyagement, en kilometrage de surplus, sans compter les heures de travail que j'ai manquer et tout le stress que j'ai vécu dans mon déménagement...

Showed up to pick up my scheduled uhaul just to be told they have none available, I asked about my 50$ reimbursement just to be told I had to call the customer service line. After waiting for over an hour they "scheduled my refund". Three weeks later still have yet to see the money. I called the line again and they stated they cannot give me that information because I was not the one on the contract. I know I was the one on the contract because I was the one that put all information in, AND had the customer action file number. Now I am left feeling ripped off, AND to top it off the customer service was TERRIBLE. Will never be going to this company again.
I reserved an 8' pickup truck, for a friend, online using a major credit card. I then called the 800# to confirm my reservation & payment options. My reservation was confirmed & was told I needed to be with the person at pickup time & a major credit or debit card would be needed. I later called to change the pickup time which was confirmed & also payment methods. When we arrived the next morning to pick the truck up, the 1st thing they told us is they didn't have a pickup truck available. I told them that I confirmed my reservations twice. Then they say we have a pickup truck but it's out of gas & we would have to go right to the gas station & the amount of gas the truck is returned with would be deducted from payment. Finally, they wouldn't take a debit card as payment! I again called the 800# & was told debit couldn't be used for pickup trucks & vans but the U-Haul website says even says credit or debit card!
Reserved a trailer but modified it to a 10' truck after my original moving plans changed. Was happy to connect with a rep that suggested the truck instead of cancelling the trailer. Two months after, I wanted to check in to see if I can change the pick up date to find out that the locked in rate for $1300 was not reserved. Went through two customer service reps and a scheduler for them to say there are no notes on my account and they can't adjust the price. The new price is $1800. The whole point of reserving in advance was to lock in a cheaper rate. Guess I won't be using U-Haul
No one knows anything. Online Services are a joke. We had reservations but had to pick up 16 miles out of our way the day before. Only to realize we had to return the next day which wasn't our plan. Customer Service agents work from home, kids screaming and people talking in the background. Unprofessional inner city agents with very bad attitudes on the phone. Good Luck if you plan to use this company.
I will never do business with this compaI will neveny again and if you enjoy decent customer service you won't either. Spent all evening trying to find a truck on their site and they tell you one is available then if you want it for more than 6 hours you can't have it and you have to start your search all over again. I finally find a truck an hour away and am told the business will be closed tomorrow but I can "easily and quickly" pick up the truck using my mobile device. I get there and there's no cell service at the site on either of my cell phones, both major carriers, not prepaid or some smaller upstart. So I spend 2 and a half hours waving my phone in the air standing on up in my convertible looking like an idiot trying to upload photos of my drivers license to them. Meanwhile I'm paying 4 guys 20 dollars an hour to wait at my house with their hands in their pockets. When I finally get the truck and head out I keep trying to call customer service but they put me on hold so long each time that I end up going through another dead zone and having to start all over. Never got anyone. Get back and load the truck up to take some things to storage and one of the guys I hired goes in front of me. It's late and I'm tired when I get a phone call from him telling me there's a road check ahead. No big deal but figure I'll stop and check the brake lights to be sure when I realize in my frustration and rush I have left my license that I had to take 16 pictures of in my car so I have to turn around and scratch the whole unload. I only have one helper tomorrow and somehow the 2 of us have to unload an 8 foot slate pool table by ourselves. When I finally get ahold of customer service the guy is rude and obnoxious tells me i need to take that up with my cell provider. I guess both of them. Do yeah i had a few choice words for him. I was treated so rudely after such a horrible day that before I rent the truck another day I will just push that pool table off the back of the truck and buy another one. Think about that. ID RATHER SPEND 3000 DOLLARS THEN EVER GIVE THIS COMPANY ANOTHER DOLLAR OF MY MONEY. That should be all you need to know to go with a different rental company. I know I will
We reserved a 10 ft truck for 6/15 from our local U-Haul location. The website showed this as available. But later they called and said we have to pick up from another location 15 miles away in the wrong direction, so costing us another $30+. I asked if they would waive the extra mileage expense, but they refused. This is not acceptable!
So we made other arrangements and canceled the reservation. We then tried to add a review of our experience on the U-Haul site but we weren't allowed to because we had canceled. They clearly don't allow reviews of bad experiences on their site. No wonder they show a 4.8 review average on their own site, for that location, when they have such a bad review average on this site.
This company treated me like a criminal instead of a paying customer. I was threatened, talked down to and every interaction was with someone rude. The trucks are outdated and unsafe and the place I had to pick up/drop off was extremely busy and this big truck was parked in a small spot behind the building. They don't care. Never again will I use UHaul and I'll make sure none of my friends or family do either.
Screw them they reported the truck stolen i was pulled over and arrested at gunpoint with my 4 year old son in the truck and my son went to Orangewood and now i have a DCFS case and my baby is in foster care
I now have pending criminal charges and I'm fighting to get my baby back
The cherry on the cake is they have the nerve to try and charge me almost $2000
They are illegally trying to charge one of my cards i have on file from a different location that i rented in September without permission!?

Our terrible experience started when they changed the pickup location from a close place in our community to 45 minutes away up into town. Our current house hasn't closed yet so we needed to extend it but when we called the guy on the phone didn't even try to help. He said someone else needed the truck and refused to get them a different one. So now all our stuff is piled up in our friends house and we have to bring the truck all the way back up into town because they couldn't be bothered to help us out.
It was a great experience in having the U-Haul storage company help me with my needs of replacing a trailer wiring plug on my truck.The tech was extremely knowledgeable about the service I needed and that he performed.He was fast and made me aware of what needed to be done. He explained to me what he had done and why and made suggestions as to what he believed would work best for my needs. I could only hope that all service people I dealt with would treat me with the same respect he did.He is truly an asset to this company. I would return for any further service I would need in this area without hesitation.
First, horrible transmission and shouldn't be on the road. Truck had oil all over the enclosure so it wasn't checked prior. Steering column turned 300 degrees to make a turn.

Answer: UHAUL IS CHEATING PEOPLE OUT OF THERE MONEY. OVER CHARGES BY CHEATING YOU. There equipment clearly stated rent me $19.99per day. Not $109. Or $126.61. Per day.
Answer: Scammy. Just try leaving a negative review for uhaul itself (not the little mom n pop pickup/dropouts the big company responsible for the bull)...it's impossible
Answer: From my experience I've noticed uhaul only allows you to review the pickup and dropped location and generally where I am at least, those folks are great and helpful. The huge conglomerate running the show is at fault but there seems to be no way to easily review them specifically. They screwed me too and I wondered the same. Maybe some folks had a positive experience but I believe you are correct. Negative reviews are definitely being screened out. Sorry you had a crappy move too.
Answer: I did a complaint online and then called but with the same result, they couldn't find me in their system. I need to wait 24 to 72 hours for the manager to investigate.
