HORRIBLE STAY AWAY!
November 3, 2022

If you enjoy A LOT of commercials, this is def the service for you. You will get 3.5 minutes of commercials for every 6 minutes of program. It's the worst. I can't cancel this service quick enough.

I think it is the best internet based pay TV service available. Best cloud DVR for sure and decent pricing. The problem I have was confusing billing management. We were billed twice to our credit card for many months and customer service so far has not been able to resolve the issue. We are still waiting but it has been difficult to get billing department on the phone. Customer service was not able to help.

I signed up for youtube TV with Verizon Fios nearly 3 years ago. I've been on autopay ever since. I've never missed a payment and have never been even 1 day late. 4 days ago youtube tv shut of my service for no apparent reason. Nothing has changed, not the credit card, not the pay date, not the autopay, nothing...

Despite the fact that I paid via autopay, again, both sides keep saying its the other guys fault and I can get no resolution and no service.

I've always wanted to add HULU, I guess its time to add HULU+ TV with a different internet service provider.

Verizon has been working with me to find a resolution but Youtube TV is the worst and has nothing to say other than we didn't get paid, which they did.

Edit: It took nearly a week but my service is back on. Verizon gave me a one month credit for the interruption while Youtube offered nothing. I will most likey be switching my streaming service with the next promo/special offered by HULU+TV. Youtube/Google has ABSOLUTELY the worst customer service of any industry. You are constantly connected with overseas centers and I'm sry but if you can not speak clear English, you should not be doing customer service for American customers. I asked several times to speak with a supervisor and I was never connected and never called back despite multiple requests and promises that I would be called back. I was seriously considering a Pixel cell phone but will never purchase anything associated with Google.

I Do Not Recommend buying anything associated with Google. If something goes wrong, getting help is a nightmare. This is not my 1st encounter with a Google service. I had started using Google voice a few years ago but ran into several issues trying to get with that service also. Basically, you have to rely on community forums for any help. Google just doesn't care about its customers.

You get a give feedback button. You click that and it says, "thanks for the feedback".
Rinse and repeat.
We have two places in two different states. The money I am saving is nearing the "it isn't worth it" level.
There is no infrastructure for support when a problem like this arises and your on your own.

Good when it plays
August 12, 2022

I've been subscribed to YouTube tv for about two months. The reason I did is because it was listed #1 on the top ten list. But, for the last two months I get a lot of freezing and buffering especially on playback recordings and commercials. I have other streaming services I use and do not have this problem, so I know it's not my internet. I like the channels I'm able to get and the unlimited recording. I do wish that you could delete a recording that you have already watched would make it easier to simply to find the new recording. But because of the freezing and buffering (hard to enjoy a program when it keeps doing that) I will be cancelling my subscription.

YouTube lacks what most streamer suppliers provide seamlessly - the ability to rewind without providing a massive glitch. Way overpriced.

While the channel selection is really good, there are two major flaws with the YouTube TV interface:
1 - There is no easy way to scroll through the TV schedule for multiple days ahead. You can easily search for a specific show, but just wanting to get a bird's eye view of the schedule is impossible if you want to go more than 48 hours or so.
2 - Even if you mark a TV show to record, it won't necessarily show up in "New In Your Library". You CAN however scroll through a list of TV shows/movies that you have recorded, but it's really easy to lose track of what may be new to watch; there's no way to sort by "oldest to newest" or vice versa.

These two issues really need to be fixed to make YouTube TV more user friendly! It's not really a great replacement for a normal DVR as it stands now.

The channel lineup excellent being able to delete worthless and useless channels. Would be better if they had a weather channel. The price is excellent. The only downside is YouTube TV AKA Google does not have live one-on-one customer support. They feel they do not need a telephone number to do business. Their motto is Don't sell the customer what he wants sell him what you got. And to top it off if you are able to get someone on the phone it is not an american-based site it's a bunch of foreigners reading from q cards

In early June 2022 I signed up for a free trial of YouTube TV and on June 18th was charged $59.39 for the streaming service (discounted first 2 months). During my trial period I could access the service, although it required authenticating my account almost every time I opened the site. However, when I started to be charged on June 18th, I was locked out of my account and to this day I don't know why. I tried everything I could to find out what I did wrong. I spent countless hours on the internet; I consulted with my IT staff at work; I spoke with tech savvy people; all to no avail. YouTube TV does not provide human tech support and this is extremely frustrating. KEEP THAT IN MIND!

I emailed Google at *******@google.com, after finding out that that was the avenue to bring up my issue with them. I explained that I could not access my account as the system would not recognize the phone number I entered in the dual authentication process used in entering an account. Without access to the account, I could not access the service. I received a response stating that my account could not be restored because "it was found to have been used in a way that violated Google policies." When I visited the Google Accounts Help Center, as suggested in the email, it instructed me to go to my account! Therein lies the problem; I am in a catch 22!

In response to the Google reply, I emailed again, this time demanding a refund for a service I could not access. I received the same response from Google Accounts stating that my account "can't be restored because "it was found to have been used in a way that violated Google policies."

I had no alternative but to inform my credit card company. The dispute, while ongoing, has an unfortunate aspect to it. The credit card company requires that I show evidence of cancelling the service. Therein lies a problem. How can I do that if I can't access my account to cancel the service? The card company appreciated and understood the dilemma and credited my the charge of $59.39 as a good will gesture; primarily for being a loyal customer for years. It also assured me that it would block Google from attempting to charge me in subsequent months. We shall see on July 18th!

I want everyone reading this review to understand what they are getting into when signing up for YouTube TV; especially those of you, like me, who are not tech savvy. This service is unforgiving!

I discovered YouTube TV trying to get a local football game. Once set up I have been pleased until some glitch appeared where the App was requesting I sign in. I attempted several times. The instructions seem straight forward, but are as convulted at best. It gives instructions to go to YouTube, even though your trying to rectify YouTube TV. It was so frustrating, the you see if you can get a customer representative on the phone. They give an inadequate chat line, then eventually a phone center, seemingly in Bangladesh.
Sounds like a sweat shop, all kinds of echoes and chatter. You explain your issue, with them explaining that YouTube has No Customer Service and you have been directed to a Third World Third Party!
For a one-time $29.99 service fee they will rectify your problem that turns out to be a technical glitch no fault of the customer. You hear in the background them spewing the racket to all incoming calls.
Google YouTube should be Ashamed of themselves!
I Refused to pay the Ransom, and in no uncertain terms, told them to shove it! They make Comcast /Exfinty seem helpful!
I cancelled My You Tube Premium and You Tube TV.
Will simply Not tolerate such low life customer service!

I signed up for a free trial and cancelled before it was over due to bad sound quality and no need for service. They still charged me $69 for four months. I sent in for a refund and they denied it even when it says on their site I canceled before the trial was up. Do not sign up unless you want to keep getting charged even when you aren't using it and have cancelled.

We have have been streaming YouTube Live TV for 4 years, but now our YouTube TV no longer connects with Live TV without jumping through a bunch of hoops and there is no one available to help us. We are fed up! It's ludicrous that there is no one to contact and no support available for a non-functioning membership.

Stupid me.
November 4, 2021

I assumed YOU TUBE TV would be a service with integrity, boy was I wrong. It is impossible to cancel. For the month free trial, gave my credit card singed up in two minutes. Good luck canceling, I spent hours trying to cancel. Websights is a joke. You go to cancel and they send you to a Web page to add more channels. Finally I got fed up and sent non stop complants. Every time they asked for comments they got a earful from me.
Finally someone emailed, said I was canceled. I don't believe them. They said I was canceled when I canceled at the end of my free trial. UTUBETV IS NOT SENIOR FRENDLY, and they are not transparent. You tube tv, why screw people out of money$ and offer horrible wedsights and no customer service. Give your members great tv and great costomer service. I judge companies on their customer support, and THEY ARE NOT WORTH THE HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE. Oh great, now I have to work on the past charges. The tv was ok, service is a -10

Both online and mobile experiences are very buggy. If you save a setting, it will say "you're all set" and "error" at the same time and the error explanation will be undecipherable such as "could not save the following" (following... what?). If you invite a family member to join your family circle, it will allow you to invite them by email but then that family member won't be able to accept your invite and hours of troubleshooting later you will discover that everyone in your family is required to have a gmail account (why?). And so on and so forth. It's unpleasant to use and very time-consuming to troubleshoot.

The videos often start off pixelated and often continue on low quality for a while, even though we have the highest-tier internet bandwidth and other streaming apps never have this issue.

Also there are LOTS of ads on some shows. YouTube's explanation is that they weren't able to negotiate better with the networks. Well then, don't offer me to DVR a show if I can't fast-forward through the ads - the whole purpose of DVR is to skip ads. And in addition to in-video ads from the networks, the YouTube TV app itself constantly interrupts you with "our picks for you" which of course are just ads for random shows.

Overall, not a very nice experience.

**** UPDATE ****

After using YouTube TV for a month, I am downgrading my review to 1 star.

The video continues to be EXTREMELY low quality about 20% of the time - I am talking pixelated, jerky, faded colors, you name it. I am not experiencing these issues with my other streaming services so it's definitely YouTube TV.

Also I take it back that there are a lot of ads on SOME shows. There are a lot of ads on MOST shows. It's like I am back to the olden days when I had to get up to wash the dishes for 10 minutes while the ads are playing.

Also the mobile app is supposed to be a "remote control" but instead it's a sales app for Google. It CONSTANTLY highjacks what you are doing to try to get you to buy more stuff.

Sadly, I will be switching back to Comcast, at least it had less ads and more of them could be fast forwarded, and the video quality wasn't so abysmal.

**** UPDATE ****

I have another update. On Feb-27, YouTube sent a notice that as of Feb-29, regional sports are no longer available (yes, it's a two-day notice, how dysfunctional their corporate must be). Without regional sports, there is simply no reason to pay over $50/month for YouTube TV when there are so many wonderful shows and movies available on Netflix and other streaming services, for much less.

I'm surprised so many people don't know about Youtube TV yet. It's cheap (used to be cheaper), you get all the great channels cable plans offer live plus DVR recording for less than $50/month.

YouTube TV is new, and they've hit the market with a bang. I thought I'd give them a try, as I was dying to get rid of another streaming company. Once I started using it, it was a no-brainer.

Unlike most services, YouTube TV doesn't have hidden costs or unexpected add-ons. You get what you see, with an easy-to-use-and-understand interface, the ability to add shows to your library, and the option to have those shows DVR'd.

PROS:

Family Is Invited! Up to five family members with a Google account can be invited, no extra cost. They then have private access to their own viewings, lineup, recordings, etc.

Live and On-Demand, DVR, ability to watch a network show right after it's aired. Pausing live? Priceless.

Fast forwarding, rewinding, and pausing is available for on demand and live shows.

Clean, user-friendly interface.

CONS:

No Comedy Central.

So many obscure sports networks to get past; it almost feels as though there are as many of those channels as there are regular ones. I'm also 99% sure this is a common issue with all streaming services.
